Lu Mingfei felt his head resting on something warm and very soft. He couldn't help but shake his head, wanting to feel this warmth and softness a little longer.

But the next second, a voice, barely suppressed and almost squeezed out from between his teeth, rang out above him.

"Get up now that you're awake... If you move around again, I'll strangle you."

Upon hearing the voice, Lu Mingfei immediately opened his eyes. He subconsciously and slowly moved his gaze upward, past the dark green cloth, past the slender neck, past the beautifully shaped jawline, and finally met a pair of beautiful eyes that seemed to be spitting fire.

Holy crap! Lu Mingfei's brain went blank for a moment. He immediately realized what he had just been resting on.

"Nono, I didn't mean to! I...I...I..." He straightened up abruptly as if he had been sprung by a spring, frantically moving backward, his face filled with fear and panic, explaining incoherently.

He remembered that he was the one holding Nuonuo last night, so how did he end up lying in Nuonuo's arms?

Nuonuo's cheeks flushed red, whether from anger or embarrassment, she didn't know. She glared at Lu Mingfei and interrupted his stammering, "Alright! That's enough!"

The atmosphere between the two became very strange again.

Lu Mingfei felt his face burning hot enough to fry an egg. He awkwardly scratched his already messy hair, his eyes darting around, not daring to look at Nuonuo anymore, and whispered, "Then...then I'll go do something else..."

"Hmm." Nono hummed a short syllable through her nose, grabbed the two olive green chair covers that served as blankets, and pulled them over herself, covering her head completely to block Lu Mingfei's view.

Lu Mingfei felt as if he had been granted a pardon and began to move towards the outside of the cabin.

Just as he was about to reach the damaged hatch, Nuonuo, who was hiding behind him under a cloth, suddenly spoke again. Her voice was muffled, but carried an undeniable authority: "Hey, Lu Mingfei!"

Lu Mingfei paused, turning back in confusion.

Nuonuo said in a deliberately affected, somewhat江湖-savvy tone, "From today onwards, you're my little brother! From now on... I'll protect you! Okay, you can go now."

After she finished speaking, the cloth ball shifted slightly, as if she had readjusted her lying position, but still did not reveal her face.

Hearing this, Lu Mingfei was completely stunned, utterly bewildered. A little brother? Protecting me? What... what kind of unexpected turn of events is this? He stood there, his mind unable to process what was happening.

He shook his head, deciding not to delve into this strange logic for the time being, and continued walking outwards.

He had just lifted his foot when Nuonuo's voice came again, this time with less of a deliberate tone and more of a serious one.

"Don't worry, now that you're my underling... I'll get you out of here alive."

These words were like a warm current, instantly striking Lu Mingfei's heart. He turned his head sharply, but Nuonuo was still covering her face with a cloth, so he couldn't see her expression.

"Yes, I believe you."

Although he couldn't see Nuonuo's expression, Lu Mingfei still responded with a smile.

He didn't know if Nono could take him back, but he knew he wasn't alone here; someone would stand by his side and promise to walk alongside him.

When Lu Mingfei's figure finally disappeared outside the cabin door, Nuonuo suddenly ripped off the cloth covering her face and gasped for breath of the cold air.

Her cheeks were redder than a ripe apple, and her heart was pounding uncontrollably.

From childhood to adulthood, Chen Motong has said "be my little brother" to many people, usually with a hint of teasing and an undeniable sense of assertiveness.

But this time, when she spoke, she felt an unprecedented shyness and...lack of confidence? Perhaps it was because, in the past few days, this "little brother" she referred to had been desperately taking care of her and protecting her.

Now that she's the one saying she should protect the other person, it seems rather... ridiculous and unconvincing.

"Don't worry, Chen Motong, you're an A-level hybrid from Kassel College! Once your injuries heal, you'll definitely be able to get that kid out of this hellhole alive! You definitely will!"

She raised her hand and patted her still burning cheeks hard, as if to encourage herself, and muttered to herself.

On the other side, Lu Mingfei hummed an off-key tune as he walked out of the cabin. This was his fourth day in this icy hell.

After Nono woke up, his life didn't get better; he was still cold and hungry. But strangely, he felt much more relaxed, and at least he no longer felt so lonely.

He took the little invention he had made yesterday and went outside to fetch water, with a few other people with him.

Those who were still able to move were divided into three groups: one group took care of the wounded in the cabin, one group cleaned up the cabin, and the other group was responsible for fetching water.

The snow around the plane had been contaminated by them over the past few days. To get clean snow, you had to go several meters away, but walking several meters in half a meter of snow was no easy task.

Lu Mingfei went to a clean spot and put down his simple device.

Beside him was Perez, who had just heard Lu Mingfei humming a song and said with a smile, "Lu, you're also looking forward to the rescue, aren't you? You seem so happy."

"Of course." Lu Mingfei blushed a little. He certainly couldn't say that he was so happy because Nuonuo woke up, so he could only go along with what the other person said.

"But will the rescue really come that quickly..." Perez murmured to himself.

Upon hearing his words, Lu Mingfei's smile faded, and the two fell silent for a moment.

When the bottle was finally half full, Lu Mingfei took his hard-won achievement and turned back to the cabin.

But as soon as he stepped into the cabin, he sensed that something was wrong.

"Who stole the food?! Do you know you're playing with everyone's lives?!" Marcelo, clutching his makeup bag, roared at the people around him, his face ashen.

He had just done his routine check of the food in his makeup bag, but he discovered that the last piece of chocolate and a packet of cookies were missing—these were some of their few remaining food items.

"Was it you, Cancesa?! You took the liberty of drinking last night! And now you're stealing food! Hand it over right now!" Marcelo shouted at the medical student, Cancesa.

Last night, the wounded begged Cancesar to let them have some wine to celebrate, and under their persistent pleading, Cancesar took it upon himself to open the last bottle of wine.

Marcelo was initially furious, but since he had already found a way to make water, he didn't say anything in the end. However, stealing solid food had completely crossed his line; these people would really starve to death without that piece of chocolate and that bag of biscuits.
