The dream of becoming a Pokémon master

9. The Trial of the Stealth Master

The Overlord nodded and called out "Nido" to Nidoran.

Nidoran had no choice but to reluctantly walk towards Kyosuke.

"You're missing the point, bro! I'm a Pokémon Trainer. My Pokémon should win through Pokémon battles and win over the opponent with their charm, right? What's with this kind of real-life battle?!" Kyosuke had a headache.

Nidoran, upon hearing Nido Nido's call to his father, jumped and hopped around, but he was still just a baby.

"And he's not willing at all! I still can't force a Pokémon to do anything." Kyosuke expressed his principles.

After listening, the Overlord stared at Nidoran for a while until he quieted down and stood obediently to the side. Then he said to Kyosuke, "Nido Nido, Nido, Nido Nido Nido."

"You mean you want to entrust him to me? You want me to take care of him like an elder? Hmm... Now that you put it that way, I can no longer refuse using the reason of subjugation, but I still value the child's own wishes." After listening, Kyosuke sorted out his thoughts and replied.

Having said all that, even the overlord fell silent. Ultimately, it all depended on Nidoran himself.

Nidorun was determined to return to his father's side, but after hearing Kyosuke's words, he felt a strange sense of warmth. And thinking about it carefully, even if he chose to stay with his father, waiting until he evolved in the wild was too dangerous. He realized his own personality was too cowardly and he should train himself properly.

After hesitating for a long time, Nidoran still chose to walk towards Kyosuke.

Seeing this, Kyosuke was naturally furious about tax evasion, but he failed to see the smugness and dejection in the eyes of the overlord.

Of course, even if he saw it, he wouldn't be able to understand that feeling.

The Overlord called out "Nido" one last time, glanced at Nidoran being carried by Kyosuke, and left with a large group of wives and sons.

Only Nido walked at the very back, looking back reluctantly, but still calling out "Nido" before leaving.

Nidoran looked at her, calling out "Nido Nido," but he couldn't stop her from leaving. Her eyes were filled with tears as she turned back to look at Kyosuke.

"Nido Nido!"

"I promise you, we'll get stronger together," Kyosuke said solemnly. "But it's so late, getting back to camp quickly is the most important thing!"

"Nido Nido?"

……

Although Kyosuke has no sense of direction, he always leaves a faint mark whenever he goes out, and this time was no exception.

However, since he has no sense of direction when he goes out, if viewed from above, you can see that Kyosuke's route is actually a series of S-shaped routes.

The numerous detours meant that even though Kyosuke wanted to get back quickly, it still took him half an hour.

This was only because Nidoran wasn't slowed down by being carried on his back. But it was precisely because of this that Nidoran was even more shocked by Kyosuke: both his terrible sense of direction and his powerful physique.

Upon arriving at the camp, Kyosuke was about to apologize to Charmander when he saw empty food cans scattered all over the ground.

What the hell? Robbed? They're only stealing Pokémon food cans? Three question marks appeared above Kyosuke's head.

Turning my gaze, I saw the little dragon sitting in a chair, skillfully opening a can of food. His belly was already bigger than his body.

"Hey, Little Fire!" At this moment, Kyosuke was more amused than angry, and he called out to Little Fire.

Hearing Kyosuke's voice, Little Fire excitedly turned around, ready to share his joy at learning Flamethrower, only to see Nidoran in his arms. "You little rascal, Kyosuke! You said you were training today, but you went out to find Pokémon!" Then he saw Kyosuke covered in injuries. "Hahaha, got beaten up for cheating outside, huh? What a stroke of luck!"

The complex emotions culminated in a single "Ni!!!" followed by a jet of flame aimed at Kyosuke.

Kyosuke was initially pleased to see the flamethrower, but it turned out he was the target. This kid couldn't stand not being beaten up, so he quickly dodged the flamethrower, put Nidoran down, and then it was time for their usual lovey-dovey time.

Nidoran looked at Charmander with pity: "You only know he's strong, but you don't know just how strong he is. Alas, what a poor child."

……

After a brief exchange, Kyosuke finally understood what had happened to Charmander. He laughed heartily and patted Charmander's head: "You've had a hard day, but tomorrow is the official start of the legendary Pokémon catching plan. Get some rest tonight."

Then she called Nidoran over, "From now on you're brothers. This is Charmander," she pointed to Charmander, then looked at Nidoran, "As for him, well, let's call him Crybaby!"

Nidoran stared at Kyosuke in shock: Are you fucking serious?

"This will be your name for now. We'll give you a proper name when you've really grown up." Once Kyosuke makes a decision, he won't easily change it.

Nidoran burst into tears again upon hearing this, but the little dragon beside him, who had initially found it amusing, now looked at him with utter contempt.

"You can't change your nickname, but there are some things you can choose, like which Poké Ball to use," Kyosuke said to Nidoran while rummaging through his backpack. "But remember to put a Poké Ball in your belt next time."

Nidoran was also very excited. The legendary Poké Ball, and supposedly there are different versions, so he had to choose the best one!

Okay, choose the best one from the five regular Poké Balls.

Nidoran had mixed feelings.

……

The next day, Nidoran was woken up in a daze.

Brother, it's only 4 o'clock!

The little dragon stood by and mocked him, completely forgetting that he had looked the same on his first day.

"Charmander, you can continue practicing your Fire-type moves today. You're my main fighter." Kyosuke praised Charmander, then looked at Nidoran, "Crybaby, well, focus on building your physique. After all, you're still a child and need to develop. Also, train your hind legs well, since you'll be standing when you evolve into Nidoking, and hind leg strength is very important."

After giving some pointers, Kyosuke also began to train his body.

Nidoran wanted to secretly observe what special training techniques Kyosuke possessed, but only witnessed ordinary methods. Perhaps, life is just that unfair.

At five o'clock, after training and breakfast, Kyosuke summoned two of his generals and began to explain his plan.

"First, I'll sneak in, find Rayquaza's offspring, then summon you two. Charmander will fight the opponent one-on-one, and Crybaby will hold the line. After successfully capturing you, I'll recall you and sneak out. That's it. Got it? Type 1."

Little Charmander Nidoran: I didn't understand the last sentence.

"Alright, let's get started!"

……

After recalling the two Pokémon and donning a new hood, Kyosuke began his operation.

"Caterpillars and armored caterpillars usually cling to tree trunks, while butterfly butterflies are used to patrolling in the air, so traveling through the grass is the safest... ...bullshit! Why would anyone do something like letting a large number of caterpillars blend into the grass?!"

The training of a master of stealth is truly no easy feat...
