The dream of becoming a Pokémon master

40. The birth of the strongest Eevee evolution!

Seeing Kyosuke's murderous expression, Fire Monkey quickly explained, "Although it only took us three minutes to get here, the path inside the cave might be very long, and we might have to walk a long way."

Kyosuke reluctantly accepted the reason, and then together with Fire Monkey, they climbed over the three-meter-high security fence.

That's right, it's climbing over, not entering through the main entrance.

I was actually starting to believe you were one of the Four Heavenly Kings and were going to use your status to get me in, and now you're telling me you're only responsible for leading the way and it doesn't matter whether the method of entry is legitimate or not? You really are an imposter after all!

Fire Monkey, feeling a bit embarrassed, immediately climbed to the top of the fence and reached out to Kyosuke, saying, "Kyosuke, do you need help climbing up?"

A poor way to change the subject.

Kyosuke ignored him, picked up Eevee again, recalled Charmeleon, and with a big leap, jumped over the fence and landed steadily on the ground. He then summoned Charmeleon again and hugged Eevee.

Then he looked at the Fire Monkey with disdain.

The Infernape's mouth gaped open, unable to close for a long time: "I thought I could tease and bully the only kid on the forum, but I didn't expect him to be a super Pokémon in human form. Luckily, I didn't mess with him yet, or I wouldn't see the sun tomorrow. Our forum really has a lot of talented people."

Slunk down, Fire Monkey dared not play with the Little Poisonous Moth again this time, and led Kyosuke straight into the cave.

All of the previous actions were because he had instructed us not to disturb him so that we could sneak into the mountains at night and climb over fences. Now it would be best to just lead the way properly.

Then, two minutes later, we arrived at our destination—rocks covered in ice and snow.

It's not twenty minutes, it's not two hours, it's just two minutes.

Kyosuke's arm was twitching, and the Fire Monkey tried to dodge.

But they were drawn to a white light.

The white light came from Charmeleon, or more precisely, from Eevee in Charmeleon's arms.

When it arrived in this area, the unstable genes that were originally hidden in its body began to erupt. Normally, Eevee would have evolved smoothly here, but because of the torment it suffered, it suffered the same, no, even more pain when evolving into Glaceon.

"Boo!"

This was the first time Kyosuke had heard him make a sound. Even he could feel the pain in that sound.

"Hang in there, just get through this, and the pain will be over." Kyosuke silently cheered him on. This Eevee had already endured pain that most living beings could never imagine in their entire lives. He only hoped that Eevee could evolve smoothly and live a happy life in its later years.

Fortunately, evolution is always temporary, and the pain soon ended. Eevee transformed into Glaceon.

No longer as small as before, Eevee has grown a size larger. Its entire body is light blue, but its four feet are dark blue, and two small braids that look like they are woven from ice hang down on either side of its head, giving it a cute look.

Charmeleon shivered from the cold after Eevee evolved and immediately released the evolved Glaceon.

After evolving, Glaceon was free from its illnesses and its physical abilities were greatly enhanced. It landed on the ground with a simple roll. It was very grateful to the Pokémon that had been holding it, and used Flamethrower to warm it up.

"Flame-breathing???" Fire Monkey and Kyosuke were shocked.

Kyosuke is alright, since he knows that Eevee can briefly evolve into Flareon, Thunderbolt, and Vaporeon, so using Flamethrower might be due to the Fire-type gene becoming dominant. It's even possible that this Glaceon can use Water Gun and Thunderbolt, not just Flamethrower!

Chimchar had never heard of such a strange thing as a Glaceon that could breathe fire. As the Fire Elite Four member, he had studied Fire-type Pokémon and Pokémon that could learn Fire-type moves, and Glaceon was definitely not among them!

"Kyosuke, how about I take it and study it? I really want to figure out the secret behind how it learned to breathe fire!" Fire Monkey said to Kyosuke somewhat eagerly.

Kyosuke shook his head.

"Even if he weren't my Pokémon, I wouldn't let him undergo any more experiments. He's already been through enough. I just want him to live in the Sinnoh region, away from that painful place in Kanto."

The Fire Monkey suddenly remembered what Kyosuke had said about the Eevee's past, and realized that his momentary excitement might have triggered someone else's nightmare, so he apologized.

Glaceon heard Kyosuke's words, walked over to Kyosuke's side, rubbed against him with its leg, and made "Eee~ Eee~ Eee~" noises.

"I don't want you to make a decision easily out of gratitude towards me. You have a long life ahead of you, and maybe I'm just a passerby. You can be happy here too."

Glaceon shook its head: "Eevee~ Eevee~ Eevee~"

"Is it alright to go back to that place of sorrow? After all, it's there..."

Glaceon nodded: "Eevee~ Eevee~ Eevee~"

"Thank you for your trust in me. In that case, I will definitely not let you down."

Kyosuke nodded, took out a Poké Ball, and placed it on Glaceon's head.

The Ice Eevee gently touched it, put it into its Poké Ball, and offered no resistance.

Kyosuke released Glaceon again, and Glaceon immediately jumped into Kyosuke's arms, just like when it was still Eevee.

Kyosuke patted Glaceon's head gently and said, "Even if we face storms and hardships from now on, we'll walk together. Now that you've evolved into Glaceon, I'll call you Frost."

Ice Eevee smiled and responded.

Charmander thought about its name—Midfire—and felt like it wasn't a biological child.

However, it was Fire Monkey who had more complicated feelings at the scene.

What happened? How did you suddenly catch it? Didn't you just say you were going to leave it in Sinnoh? Why can you understand what it's saying?! Most trainers can only sense a Pokémon's feelings, okay? You must be a Pokémon in human form!

"Thank you, Fire Monkey! I'll take you to play next time you come to Kanto!" After playing with Kaze for a while, Kyosuke finally remembered his friend who was still standing next to him and greeted Fire Monkey.

The Infernape was exasperated by this person who was so focused on Pokémon, but it understood perfectly. After all, it was the same kind of person.

"Come with me, we'll head down the mountain now. But don't forget tomorrow's battle."

"Don't worry, I definitely won't forget! Right, Chunghwa!" Kyosuke finally remembered the Charmeleon next to him.

After recalling Charizard, the two returned to where they had parked earlier. Kyosuke lamented the irresponsibility of the traffic police these days, noting that they didn't even tow away this beat-up car. Charizard, on the other hand, just smiled without saying a word.

Back in Chess City, Kyosuke expected to go to the Pokémon Center, but instead ended up at a hotel. Kyosuke wondered if this was actually Infernape's purpose, only to be given a sharp rap on the head by Infernape. Of course, Kyosuke wasn't hurt; a tough guy like him never gets a headache. Infernape, on the other hand, got a bump on his hand. As for Infernape's explanation that appearing as one of the Elite Four would cause a riot, Kyosuke just chuckled it off.

Of course, in the end, we booked two rooms.
