After Shen Fei finished the written test and registration for his driver's license, he came out of the Ministry of Transportation's service center and then prepared to drive home with Pete.

As I was leaving, a black Mercedes-Benz S-Class drove past, and then the car carefully reversed back.

The car window rolled down, revealing the smiling face of a middle-aged white man.

The man said:

"Hey, is this Mr. Shen? What a coincidence."

Shen Fei was stunned for a moment before he recognized who this person was.

This man is the manager of the St. John's branch of CIBC Bank, named Gray Bell.

He went to handle some banking business a few days ago and, through the introduction of lawyer Steve, met with the bank manager.

"Hello, Mr. Bell."

Shen Fei responded very politely.

"Just call me Gray," Gray said warmly, then asked, "Are you done with your business? Where are you headed? Would you like me to give you a ride?"

"No need to trouble you, we drove ourselves."

Shen Fei pointed to a used Dodge Ram next to him.

Gray's gaze lingered on the old car for a second, and his smile widened.

He thought to himself, "A person who is so rich drives such an inconspicuous car. This person must be extraordinary."

"Are you here at the Ministry of Transportation to apply for driver's licenses?"

Gray asked a casual question.

"Yeah," Shen Fei nodded, then complained, "The process itself isn't complicated, but the road test requires queuing, which is so annoying. The most troublesome thing is the gun license. James checked, and it will take at least three or four months, which is such a waste of time."

He was just saying it casually; he didn't mean anything by it.

However, Gray burst into laughter after hearing this.

"A gun license? I thought it was something serious."

"Oh?"

Shen Fei raised an eyebrow.

"In Newfoundland, rules are rules, but people are flexible."

Gray winked mysteriously and whispered, "I can't say for sure about the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Commissioner, but the Deputy Commissioner of the St. John's Police Department is my wife's younger brother."

Shen Fei was surprised to hear this, and his heart skipped a beat.

"The gun safety course certificate is easy to obtain; I can have him find someone to issue one for you. As for the background check, with him overseeing it, the process will be much faster. I guarantee you'll get the highest level Restricted Class Arms License (RPAL) in two weeks at most."

Gray seemed relaxed as he said these words.

"This..." Shen Fei was at a loss for words.

He was worried about this process yesterday, and the problem was solved today. He found it incredible.

"Don't worry, everything is legal. We're just saving some unnecessary waiting time."

Gray added, then handed him a business card, saying, "This is my personal phone number. You can go to the gun shop now, see which models you like, and pick them up once your documents arrive."

"Thank you so much, Gray."

Shen Fei was truly grateful to him.

"It is my honor to serve such a good customer as you."

Gray chuckled and patted Shen Fei on the shoulder, then said, "By the way, there's a 'Newfoundland Gun Club' in the east of the city. It's the best in town. The owner's name is Bob. You can mention my name."

After he finished speaking, he waved and drove away in his Mercedes.

Pete was stunned. Even after the car had driven far away, he leaned over and said:

"Boss, is this... the world of the rich?"

Shen Fei looked at the business card in his hand and felt quite emotional.

He thought to himself, money, and the relationships that money brings, are truly the most useful things in the world.

"Let's go," he said to Pete, putting away his business card. "We're not going to the Department of Transportation."

"Where do we go?"

"Let's go to the gun shop and get a sneak peek at our new toy."

Shen Fei was very happy and smiled.

An hour later, the Dodge Ram pulled up in front of the Newfoundland Gun Club.

This place doesn't look like a shop; it's more like a high-end club. There's a huge elk head specimen hanging at the entrance, which looks very impressive.

They pushed the door open and went inside.

There was a man inside.

He has a lot of beard.

He was very strong, like a bear.

The burly white man was sitting behind the counter polishing a long gun.

"Hello, who are you looking for?"

The burly man asked without looking up, his voice loud.

"We're looking for Mr. Bob; Gray Bell referred us here."

Shen Fei directly stated his name.

The burly man stopped cleaning his gun, looked up, and his eyes were sharp.

He looked Shen Fei up and down, then smiled:

"I'm Bob. That Gray guy actually referred clients to me. What kind of stuff are you looking to see?"

"I want to buy some suitable security equipment for my fish farm and for myself."

Shen Fei said directly, "Pistols, rifles, shotguns, I want to see them all."

"Oh, you know a lot about this stuff."

Bob came out from behind the counter and said, "Come with me."

He led Shen Fei and Pete through a showroom filled with various guns, and then to a VIP room where security was even tighter.

"Let's look at handguns first. In Canada, handguns can only be used at shooting ranges and cannot be used for self-defense outside, but keeping them at home is the last line of defense."

Bob took three classic handguns from the gun cabinet and placed them on the velvet-covered table.

"This is a Glock 19, it's 9mm. Many police and military units use this because it's very reliable and doesn't break down easily."

"This is a Sig Sauer P226, also 9mm. The Navy SEALs use this; it's very accurate, well-made, and of course, expensive. It's considered a luxury item among pistols."

"This last one is a Beretta 92FS," Bob said, picking up the last silver pistol. "It's a classic; it's been in many movies. It looks good and performs reliably."

Pete stared wide-eyed; he had only ever seen so many real guns in movies.

"Where's the rifle?"

Shen Fei asked.

"Come with me."

Bob opened another cabinet.

"In Canada, the AR-15 is restricted, and the procedures are very complicated. So I recommend you buy this, the WK180-C. This is an unrestricted rifle, it looks very similar to the AR, uses 5.56mm bullets, has sufficient firepower, and is relatively easy to buy."

"If you like to be accurate, then you have to go for the Remington 700. It's a classic hunting rifle, and if you add a good scope, you can hit an apple from 300 meters away without any problem."

"Finally, there's the shotgun, which is the most effective in close-quarters combat."

Bob pulled out two shotguns.

"This is a Mosberg 500, a pump-action type, most commonly used in North American home defense. It's simple, reliable, and the sound of it being cocked can scare away half of the thieves."

"And this one," Bob said with a hint of pride, "the Benelli M4, a semi-automatic tactical shotgun, the kind the US military uses. In close combat, it's a god."

Shen Fei listened quietly, memorizing the characteristics of each type of gun.

"Can I give it a try?"

he asks.

Bob glanced at him and asked:

Do you have a gun license?

"Gray said it would be done in two weeks."

Bob paused for a moment, then laughed.

"It seems Gray really thinks highly of you. According to the rules, that's not allowed, but at my private shooting range, I'll be watching the whole thing, so it's not impossible for my esteemed guest to get a taste of it beforehand."

So he took the two men to an indoor shooting range behind the shop.

After they put on goggles and noise-canceling headphones, Shen Fei picked up the Glock 19.

The gun felt very heavy in my hand.

Under Bob's guidance, he assumed a standard shooting stance, then began to aim and pulled the trigger.

There was a loud "bang," and the recoil of the gun was so strong that his arm went numb, but the bullet still hit the bullseye twenty meters away.

"What incredible talent!"

Bob praised it.

Next, Shen Fei tried firing the WK180-C rifle in bursts, and he felt the thrill of bullets being fired continuously.

Finally, he picked up the Benelli M4.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Each shot was as heavy as a hammer, tearing the target paper to shreds.

Even after putting down the gun, Shen Fei's ears were still ringing, but he felt incredibly safe.

He felt that this was the power that could protect him and his home.

"How is it, sir?"

Bob took off his headphones, smiled, and asked him, "Have you decided which one you want? I can pre-order it for you."

Pete looked at his boss expectantly, wondering which gun he would choose.

Shen Fei looked at the glowing weapons on the table, and then he spoke calmly.

"I want all of the ones we just tried."
