The boy seemed to have heard their conversation, and slowly raised his head, his brown eyes filled with pleading.

"It's not a toy, is it?" The man became interested, squatted down, and pinched the boy's chin with his rough fingers, forcing him to tilt his face up and reveal the fragile lines of his throat and neck.

"Sir, have you heard of the 'Thorn Rose Club'? It's a place for rich people like us to have fun. The kids there are trained from a young age, and they're docile to the bone."

His thumb maliciously rubbed across the boy's swollen lips: "I spent 1.2 million on this, and I haven't even started using it yet. I was hoping to have some fun tonight, but who knew the warm-up would be such a disappointment."

Nan Yan's body trembled violently as the man's rough fingers gripped her chin. She lowered her head in humiliation, letting out a soft sob.

Because his sensitivity is extraordinary.

"If you keep playing like this, he won't last tonight," Wei Xun said calmly.

"So what if he's dead? The club can clean up the broken toy." The middle-aged man released his grip, stood up, and spoke casually.

"If I die, I'll just buy another one, haha. The club's rule is—'trade-in' and you get a 20% discount. Anyway, these toys are all unregistered; the police have no idea they exist, so no one will investigate if I die."

Wei Xun raised an eyebrow slightly: "A club?"

He leaned closer to Wei Xun and lowered his voice: "Brother, you seem to know your stuff. Want me to introduce you to the 'Thorn Rose Club'? The toys there are all specially trained, absolutely obedient, all kinds available, guaranteed to satisfy you."

His tone was laced with smugness: "Let me tell you, everyone who can get into this club is either rich or powerful like us. There are all sorts of games there; as long as you have money, you can play however you want. Want me to show you around…?"

"No need, I'm not interested." Wei Xun glanced at him indifferently and reminded him again, "Like I said, keep your voices down."

After saying that, he turned around and prepared to leave.

Just then, out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of the boy on the ground.

The boy was looking at him.

Those honey-colored eyes held the look of a drowning person seeing driftwood—desperate yet burning with longing.

His lips moved slightly, without making a sound, but Wei Xun understood the shape of his lips:

"Please..."

He stopped in his tracks.

Wei Xun was not a soft-hearted person. Over the years, he had been through thick and thin in the business world and had become accustomed to deceit and treachery. He had long since developed a heart of stone.

But for some reason, seeing Nan Yan's appearance made him feel even more uncomfortable.

The thought that he might hear the boy's screams and other unpleasant sounds made it impossible for him to leave with a clear conscience.

He turned to the man and asked, "What do you plan to do with this boy?"

The man laughed: "What else can we do? We'll deal with it after we've had our fun."

Wei Xun's heart skipped a beat, and he said, "Why don't you sell it to me?"

The man was taken aback, not expecting him to say that, but then laughed: "Brother, you've got your eye on this secondhand item? Normally, I sell secondhand items for half price, but I haven't even really used it yet. If I sell it to you for half price, wouldn't I be losing out?"

He thought for a moment and said, "How about this, I'll sell it to you at half price after I've used it, okay? I promise I won't mess things up. Also... I promise I'll keep my voice down and won't disturb you."

The quiet in the next room was only temporary, Wei Xun knew. As soon as he left, those annoying sounds would soon return.

He didn't want to hear those voices anymore.

"No need," Wei Xun interrupted him, his tone decisive. "It's perfect that you haven't used it before. Give it to me at the original price."

The man's face lit up with disbelief, followed by ecstatic joy: "Dude, are you serious? The original price was 1.2 million, no bargaining?"

Wei Xun nodded: "Mm."

"Deal!" The middle-aged man agreed without hesitation, afraid that Wei Xun would go back on his word.

Wei Xun called his assistant and asked her to transfer the money to the designated account.

Soon, the middle-aged man's phone beeped. Seeing the money arrive, the man pulled out a contract and handed it to Wei Xun.

His excitement was palpable. He grabbed the boy's hair, causing him to scream in pain.

Wei Xun's expression remained indifferent, revealing no emotion whatsoever. He simply said, "Untie his ropes and treat his wounds."

The man nodded quickly: "Okay, brother, please wait a moment."

He turned and went into the room, took a pair of scissors from the drawer, walked quickly to Nan Yan's side, squatted down, and roughly cut the hemp rope tied to his wrists.

The moment the rope was untied, Nan Yan's wrists fell limply, revealing the bloodstains and abrasions on them, a shocking sight.

The man showed no mercy, casually picking up a towel from the side and tossing it in front of Nan Yan: "Dry yourself off, and hurry up and go with this gentleman."

Nan Yan reached out with trembling hands, picked up a towel, and carefully wiped away the tears and sweat on her face, as well as the bloodstains on her mouth and chest.

Wei Xun stood at the door, watching his actions with a complex expression.

"Let's go," Wei Xun said, his voice still cold and hard.

Nan Yan froze, then, as if receiving an order, obediently followed behind Wei Xun, her steps cautious.
