It's just a toy, why would you care if it breaks?
Chapter 1 Just a Toy
[This story contains various dark, violent crimes and rampant sexual exploitation in a fictional world; please do not apply it to the real world.]
"It's too much...please..."
"Have another one."
"Please..."
The noise kept coming from the next room, which annoyed Wei Xun.
A thick stack of financial statements lay before him, but he couldn't concentrate on reading them at all.
Wei Xun had just flown back to Longguo from M country to take over the Wei Group. His first stop was Haishi on a business trip to inspect the branch office.
It was late at night, inside the presidential suite on the 28th floor of the Platinum Hyatt Hotel in Shanghai.
The mountain of work had already exhausted him, and the intermittent noises coming from next door were pushing his patience to the brink of collapse.
The 28th floor is entirely comprised of presidential suites; only the extremely wealthy and powerful can afford to stay here.
He glanced at the wall; the soundproofing should have been adequate, but it still couldn't stop the unbridled revelry from next door.
The boy next door cried, his voice soft and broken, filled with unyielding grievances.
"Little [囧囧], be good."
A middle-aged man's voice came, flippant yet commanding, as if he were coaxing a trembling puppy.
Every sound hit Wei Xun's sore spot.
He picked up the report and tried to concentrate on the dense numbers, but the noise from next door wouldn't go away.
Wei Xun pressed his temples, but the coolness of his fingertips couldn't dispel the anger in his heart.
These rich kids certainly know how to have all sorts of fun.
Just then, a crisp "snap" sound was heard.
"How dare you...?!" the man roared.
The next second, a crisp "囧囧" sound rang out, followed by a muffled "囧囧" sound...
And the wailing of the boy [囧囧].
"Ah—! It hurts! No! Please! I was wrong..."
The screams were extremely shrill, filled with pain and fear, completely devoid of the previous ambiguity, leaving only pure torture.
Wei Xun's brows furrowed even more, and his gaze darkened.
Playful banter is understandable, but this kind of unrestrained violence seems to have crossed the line.
He got up, strode towards the door, irritated.
Although the door to the next room was closed, the screams and angry shouts from inside could still be heard clearly.
Wei Xun raised his hand and knocked on the door.
Soon, the door was pulled open.
What appeared before Wei Xun was a middle-aged face covered in oily sweat, his bathrobe loose, and his eyes, which held a sinister air, still burned with an unquenched flame of excitement.
"Oh, you are...?"
The middle-aged man's gaze swept over Wei Xun's seemingly casual yet expensive clothes and the understated gold watch on his wrist, and a smile immediately spread across his face: "Sir, have I disturbed you? I'm so sorry, this little gadget is a bit disobedient."
Wei Xun's gaze passed over his shoulder.
Only one wall lamp was on in the room, its warm yellow light enveloping the trembling shadow in the center of the carpet.
It was a boy, kneeling on the ground, his thin shoulders trembling incessantly.
He was only wearing a large, ill-fitting black shirt.
The collar was unbuttoned, revealing a bloody wound on his chest.
That boy's name was Nan Yan.
Hearing the door open, the boy looked up in extreme fear.
His light brown hair was stuck to his forehead with sweat, below which was a small face, as pale as fresh snow.
Her lips were bitten raw and red, with beads of blood still seeping from her lower lip.
And those eyes—brown, like melted honey—were now brimming with tears, shimmering with fear and despair.
When his gaze briefly met Wei Xun's, a hint of pleading appeared deep within his despair.
Wei Xun's Adam's apple moved almost imperceptibly.
"You're all too noisy." Wei Xun's gaze lingered on him for only a moment before turning to the middle-aged man and saying, "Keep your voices down."
"I told you to keep your voice down! Did you hear me?" The man kicked the boy in the side. The boy groaned and fell to the side like a puppet with its strings cut, his face pressed against the carpet, and faint moans of pain escaped from his lips.
The shirt collar was slid open further, revealing a deep red bite mark on her collarbone, so fresh it was almost glaring.
The middle-aged man struck again, this time with considerable force, while angrily yelling, "What are you humming about? You're disturbing the neighbor, you useless piece of trash!"
Nan Yan curled up on the ground, his brown eyes filled with tears, but he bit his lip tightly, not daring to make a sound.
Wei Xun's gaze darkened, and a strange unease rose in his heart.
He wasn't usually one to meddle in other people's business, but at that moment he couldn't bear to watch anymore.
"Was it necessary to hit so hard?" he asked calmly.
The middle-aged man stopped cursing and immediately put on a smiling face when he turned to Wei Xun. "Please forgive me, sir. This is a new toy that I just got and haven't trained yet."
He kicked the boy's bare calf, which was slender and well-proportioned, but now covered with scars.
He continued, "Sir, this is a product of 'Thorn Rose,' so it should know its place. However, this one is particularly delicate; it cries if you touch it too roughly."
"Toy?" Wei Xun repeated the word, his gaze falling on Nan Yan.
