Caesar pointed ahead and gestured that there were people there.

Daryl crouched down, took a few steps forward, parted the bushes in front of him with his hand, and looked over with eyes like a hawk.

In front of us was a small hill, and a herd of cattle walked slowly forward, chewing on something and making mooing noises.

Three people followed the herd of cattle. The three were dressed in slovenly clothes. One was particularly fat and wore a hat. The other two were of average build and were covered in dirt, but they did not look like they had ever been hungry.

Daryl turned his head and met Caesar's gaze, their eyes seemingly saying, "It's them."

After identifying his target, Glenn became visibly agitated, his fists clenched so tightly they cracked, his teeth clenched, and he anxiously watched the three men, trying to find Maggie's whereabouts.

Glenn did a good job of restraining himself by not rushing out.

Caesar looked at Frank and Moore and gestured for them to flank from both sides, not letting a single person escape.

Moore and Frank immediately set to work, crouching low and spreading out to the sides, walking quickly while keeping their eyes fixed on the three men.

Meanwhile, they scouted their surroundings to rule out any extra accomplices roaming outside.

They proceeded step by step, checking their way forward, and soon approached the three people.

Now that they were closer, they could hear the three of them talking clearly.

The fat man and one of the thinner men were significantly older, at least in their thirties.

The other one was very young, with a youthful face, like a high school student.

Toby struggled to pull his foot out of the muddy ground. "Fuck, what kind of road is this?"

"It's all that bastard Lab's fault, why did he make me come out to herd the cattle?" Dave complained irritably. He was obese and had difficulty walking even on flat ground, let alone on a road like this.

Sure enough, with his next step, his shoe sank directly into the mud. He took a step and pulled his foot out of the shoe.

Dave's feet sank into the mud, his broad face instantly turning red. He picked up his shotgun and fired at the mud while yelling.

Several loud bangs were heard, accompanied by the smell of gunpowder, and Dave's chest heaved violently.

"Fuck! Are you out of your mind, Dave?" Toby instinctively shielded himself with his arm, staring at Dave in shock.

Young Randall was clearly frightened, his eyes filled with terror as he looked at Dave, his body shrank back as if he was worried that Dave might be out of his mind and shoot him.

The surrounding cattle immediately bellowed and scattered; they were huge and ran very fast at the sound of gunfire.

"Oh my God!" Toby covered his face with his hands, utterly devastated, as he watched the cattle scatter and leave.

"It's all your fault, you idiot!"

Toby pointed at Dave's nose and yelled at him. Dave, whether he had just vented his anger by shooting or felt guilty about the cattle running away, actually lowered his head and took the beating in the face of Toby's accusations.

"Randall, young lad." After scolding him, Toby smiled, put his arm around Randall, looked up at him, and said, "You're young and strong, go and gather the cattle."

Randall intended to refuse, but the next moment, he saw the coldness in Toby's eyes.

He knew that if he refused, he might not even be able to get a meal when he returned to the camp.

"Uh... okay." Randall nodded in agreement and tiptoed into the nearby woods.

After Randall left, Toby punched Dave, making Dave's belly jiggle.

"It's all your fault, we'll be going home really late again today."

"Maybe the new woman has already been played with too much. I'd like to go back and have some fun with her first."

Listening to Toby's complaints, Dave chuckled and scratched his head, saying, "It's okay, they can't kill her anyway, we'll definitely have our fun."

"Sigh, it's getting harder and harder to find a woman these days, it's rare to find a top-quality one."

Thinking of the short-haired woman's full and alluring figure, Toby tilted his head back, licked his lips, and a look of intoxication appeared on his face.

"Fuck, I was the one who took you guys there today." Randall walked out, glanced to the side to make sure Dave and Toby couldn't hear him, and complained in a low voice.

"They actually expect me to herd the cattle."

"You two old geezers, you created this mess yourselves, and now I have to clean up your mess? You deserve to die!"

Despite his complaints, Randall still went about his search for cows.

A few steps further, Randall saw a brown and white spotted cow. His eyes lit up, and he hurried over. Just as he was about to touch the cow...

Several figures suddenly appeared beside Randall, before Randall could even see them clearly.

The butt of the gun came crashing down on Randall's head, hitting his sleep switch directly. His eyes rolled back, and he fell asleep instantly.

Tying Randall up with a rope and gag him, Moore grabbed Randall's ankles and dragged him forward.

Toby and Dave were still chatting idly, their smiles utterly lewd.

The cold muzzle of a gun was pressed against the back of their heads. Toby's face stiffened, and he instinctively raised his arm. "Hello, hello, is there anything we can help you with?"

Dave stared blankly at Toby, as if asking what to do.

The next moment, the butt of the gun smashed directly into the back of Dave's head.

Dave screamed and his bulky body collapsed to the ground. He rolled over, his eyes bloodshot, and tried to grab his gun to fire.

The bullet pierced Dave's shoulder socket instantly, and blood gushed out, soaking Dave's filthy clothes.

Dave arched his back and screamed in agony, like a boiled shrimp.

Taking advantage of the moment, Morales took the gun from Dave and punched him a few times, making Dave curl up and cover his head.

"Stop hitting me, please stop hitting me, please!"

Dave isn't very bright, but Toby is quick-witted.

He realized that this group of people didn't seem to be robbing them; they seemed to have come specifically to find them.

But our group has only just arrived here...

What… Toby thought of the farm they had just looted.

Damn it, could it really be someone from that farm?

Damn it, Randall, I shouldn't have let you join the team, I should have killed you.

Caesar walked over to Dave and had Morales flip Dave over so that he was face down.

Caesar's foot was planted on Dave's wounded shoulder. He looked at Toby, a cold glint in his eyes. "What's your name?"

"Toby, this is Dave," Toby confessed honestly.

"We have another companion who went to find cattle; you can arrest him too."

Toby understood perfectly: why should the two of us get arrested while Randall gets away scot-free?

As for hoping that Randall would come to save him, that was completely impossible.

Toby's camp was originally a group of vagrants who had wandered into this area from the outside. They were loosely organized and had no sense of obligation to save each other.

Their only principle was to survive.

I'd even betray my comrades, as long as I can survive.
