The Walking Dead: Starting as a Cowboy

Chapter 107 Suspicious Targets

Guillermo and Herschel, their inner turmoil subsiding as they drank the strong liquor, fell into a deep sleep.

Afterwards, members of the patrol carried them to Guillermo's house to rest.

The two of them fell fast asleep.

As Caesar sat in his office working, Amy stood beside him and said with a smile, "You have no idea how drunk Herschel and the other man are."

"I heard that Herschel's face turned bright red, like a tomato."

Amy took small steps and walked up to Caesar, gesturing with her hands with great interest to indicate his name.

As she took her steps, Amy's neat ponytail swayed gently, the golden strands looking exceptionally pure in the sunlight.

Caesar's gaze lingered on Amy's long, slender legs, slowly moving upwards until it settled on her full, rounded breasts.

Amy's face flushed red, her movements stiffened slightly, and she continued speaking haltingly.

She could already foresee what would happen next.

Daytime... How absurd!

With a click, the door closed.

A blush spread from Amy's face to her ears, which felt unusually hot. She whispered, "You...be gentle!"

"Well……"

……

In the afternoon, Caesar donned his battle gear and prepared to lead his men out of Black Pine Valley.

Amy trotted out, glanced at Caesar, and said, "Caesar, Herschel is still not awake."

"What about the planting courses over there?"

Caesar stopped what he was doing and waved to Morales.

Morales walked over to the team members, "Quickly organize your gear, make sure nothing is missing, check each other, hurry up..."

Caesar walked toward Amy, and after thinking for a moment, he remembered that Herschel wasn't the only one there when he arrived that morning.

"Where's Maggie?"

"Her?" Amy paused for a moment. "She and Glenn were strolling around town."

Amy glanced at her watch. "She should be at Glenn's house now."

"So fast!" Caesar's eyes widened; the progress was too fast.

Well... that seems normal. The two of them slept together after only a few meetings, which can be described as a "blitzkrieg".

"What? What are you thinking?" Amy glared at Caesar with her beautiful blue eyes.

"The town is too small after all, and the two of them don't have much to do on their dates, so they just play games in the room."

Caesar paused slightly, bent down, and leaned closer to Amy. "You believe me?"

Caesar's expression perfectly encapsulates the phrase "You're too naive."

Amy blushed slightly at this. "Oh, I know. I'll go get Maggie. The planting class will definitely be able to proceed as planned."

Caesar stopped looking at Amy with a mocking expression. "Is there anything else?"

Amy glanced around furtively, like a thief caught doing something wrong, then beckoned to Caesar with a sly, fox-like look in her eyes.

Caesar pretended not to notice anything and moved closer in a daze.

Amy whispered in Caesar's ear, her gentle breath tickling his ear like a feather.

"There's one more thing: I'll miss you, and you should miss me too~"

Amy intertwined her fingertips behind her back, tiptoed, and looked like a master of seduction, with a smug expression that said, "You've got me, haven't you?"

Caesar's lips curled into a smile, and he reached out to affectionately pinch Amy's cheek. "I'll miss you."

As he spoke, Caesar hugged Amy and gently kissed her forehead, cheeks, and lips.

After saying goodbye, Caesar got into the heavy truck.

After the convoy was organized, it started moving quickly.

Caesar took the map from T-boy and carefully examined the area surrounding Black Pine Valley.

"Morales, have you checked out all the construction sites around here?"

The map only shows the names of the surrounding areas; it doesn't show construction sites.

Caesar could only find people who were familiar with the outside world to mark some areas on the map.

After marking the sites, Caesar himself went out to find construction sites where he could find the building materials he needed.

Not only did he go out himself, but Daryl, Moore, and Glenn's three squads also went out from time to time.

However, they were disappointed almost every time they went to one of them.

First of all, the area near Black Pine Valley is remote and there are hardly any construction sites.

Secondly, they managed to find a few construction sites, but when Caesar and his men went there, they found that most of them were abandoned, with no one living there and no remaining building materials.

Caesar looked at the several red crosses on the map, sighed, and looked towards his destination, muttering, "Hopefully I can find a construction site with plenty of materials today."

"Damn, no harvest again today!"

Caesar slammed the car door shut in frustration and slowly walked toward his stone house.

Morales and T-boy followed beside him. Morales' steps were also heavy. "I haven't found anything these past few days. I think there are no suitable construction sites near Black Pine Valley anymore."

T glanced at Morales, a hint of resentment in his eyes, and managed to say, "Yeah... I think so too."

Caesar, who was walking ahead, paused and turned to Morales. "Did you ask Hershel? He's lived here for a long time and should be quite familiar with the area. Does he know of any construction sites that meet our requirements?"

Morales stopped and shook his head. "Hershel said there aren't many construction sites around here. Nobody comes to build houses. Even if someone does come to build a house, it's just because someone hired them to build one for their own family."

"Then the only place we can be sure of having a construction site right now is Atlanta," Caesar said slowly, his eyes filled with complex emotions.

In fact, everyone knows that Atlanta is rich in resources, with almost no worries about food or clothing, and there are countless construction sites.

The problem is, there are too many walkers in Atlanta.

Caesar was confident that he could enter Atlanta with his men and escape unscathed, but collecting building materials in Atlanta would make it difficult to guarantee the safety of his companions.

Moving materials at a construction site can take at least several days.

Caesar wasn't confident he could keep the area free of zombies for several days; if zombies did appear, they would inevitably come in large numbers.

In the city, the herd mentality of zombies is almost at its peak. When you see a zombie, don't hesitate, run!

Because next, a large wave of zombies will follow behind that zombie and charge at you.

The terrain in the city is very narrow, and once you are trapped in an alley, you are almost certainly going to die.

This is different from post-apocalyptic novels; the biggest advantage of the zombies is their numbers and their fearlessness.

Even if the zombies can't defeat you individually, they can overwhelm you if they all attack together. Even if you have obstacles to cover you, a horde of zombies of this size can easily flatten those obstacles.

Caesar thought for a moment and said, "Let's search for two more days, and try to search all the suspicious targets in the surrounding area."
