Chapter 109 The Orphanage, Luo Wei's Craftsmanship!

Chapter 110 The Orphanage, Luo Wei's Craftsmanship!

An orphanage in East London.

This is a slightly old red brick building, its walls covered in ivy. For the twenty-odd children living here, this is their whole world, a haven from the wind and rain. But for Luo Wei, who has just stepped out of a black taxi, this place means something entirely different.

[System Environment Scan: Shire]

Security Level: Extremely High ( ).

[Current Status: Peaceful, tranquil, no magical reaction.]

Luo Wei paid the fare and stood at the gate with his suitcase. The afterglow of the setting sun shone on the rusty iron gate, giving the mottled rust a golden edge.

"Brother Luo Wei is back!"

A high-pitched, energetic cheer broke the evening's tranquility. Immediately afterwards, a group of children dressed in old clothes, their faces dirty but their smiles radiant, poured out of the yard like a bunch of cheerful little goblins.

"My goodness, you've grown so much taller!"

"What's in your box? Are there any gifts for us?"

"Love, are you cooking tonight? Aunt Martha's stew is like mud; even stray dogs won't eat it!"

Looking at these chattering, energetic little guys, Rowe's tense facial lines softened instantly, and the vigilance he had developed at Hogwarts quietly dissipated.

In his eyes, this was not a noisy and crowded orphanage, but Hobbiton, a place full of life and warmth. These children were not abandoned orphans, but simple, happy, and carefree hobbits.

"Slow down, slow down, don't ruin my spoils." Rowe smiled, letting the little ones cling to his legs, and one even tried to climb onto his chest. "All expeditions have an end, and mine is here. Rangers need rest too."

"He's talking nonsense again." A seven or eight-year-old boy made a face at his companion, revealing a smile with a missing front tooth. "I told you he must have gone crazy from studying at that boarding school, his head is full of knight novels."

"Shut up, Tommy." Another girl with pigtails glared at him. "He can say whatever he wants as long as he can make dinner decent. I'd believe him even if he said he was Gandalf in disguise!"

At that moment, a slightly plump, kind-faced middle-aged woman came out of the house. After the old director retired, Mrs. Grace took over the responsibility and became the new guardian of this place.

[NPC Identification: Bag End Butler.]

[Alignment: Lawful Good.]

[Affection Level: Family]

"Welcome home, Rowe." Mrs. Grace wiped the flour off her hands and gave Rowe a warm and solid hug. "I thought you were going to miss dinner, so I was just about to save you some cold soup."

"We encountered some...orc checkpoints along the way," Rowe replied seriously, the image of Vernon Dursley's purplish-red face flashing through his mind. "But I've already dealt with them through 'diplomatic means.'"

Mrs. Grace smiled and shook her head. She was already used to Rowe's strange way of speaking (she had always thought it was a self-protective mechanism the boy had developed to escape harsh reality, and had even consulted a psychologist about it): "Alright, my great hero. Now that you're back, could you go to the kitchen for me? No matter how I adjust the vegetable soup, it just doesn't taste right; something's always missing."

"It is my pleasure, madam. It is my duty."

Half an hour later, mouthwatering aromas wafted from the dining hall of St. Wood Orphanage.

Rowe changed into a faded T-shirt and apron, sleeves rolled up high. He stood in front of the huge soup pot, skillfully chopping onions and carrots.

The children sat around the long table, spoons in their hands, staring longingly at the soup spoon in Rowe's hand, swallowing occasionally.

"Dinner's ready!"

At Luo Wei's command, cheers nearly lifted the roof off. This was followed by the clinking of spoons against the bottom of bowls and the satisfying sounds of chewing.

Watching everyone wolf down their food, Lowe carried his plate to the window. Outside, the lights of East London began to come on, and the faint sounds of traffic and noise drifted from the distant streets.

There is no magic here, no moving staircases, no Horcruxes hidden in the shadows, and no basilisks that might jump out at any moment.

"The Ciel is still the most peaceful place." Rowe took a sip of hot soup, the warmth flowing down his throat into his stomach, and he let out a satisfied sigh. This tranquility was what he longed for most in the bizarre and magical world.

In the dead of night, the orphanage fell into a deep sleep.

Lowe's room was in the attic; though small, it had a skylight through which he could see the stars. Moonlight streamed down, illuminating his desk.

He sat at the table and, by the moonlight, opened a thick notebook. It was filled with all sorts of strange symbols, maps, and annotations that only he could understand.

He turned the page that read "Battle in the Locked Room (Completed)" and wrote a new title on the new page:

.

[Third Era Strategic Deployment: The Shadow of Azkaban.]

His pen hovered over the paper for a moment, his brow furrowed, before he wrote down a few keywords:

Target 1: Fugitives from Azkaban.

Note: System intelligence indicates that a dangerous individual is about to escape from prison. Could it be the corrupted Regent of Gondor, or a traitor?

To be confirmed: Is he friend or foe? If he is an enemy, he must be eliminated before he gets close to "Frodo" (Harry).

Objective 2: The Ringwraith.

Note: Extremely dangerous. They are clad in black robes, feed on fear, and their chill can freeze the soul. Ordinary physical attacks are ineffective.

*Information correction: Wizards call them "Dementors".

Countermeasures:

1. Find a weapon that can emit a bright light (Feno's Lamp?).

2. Practice mental resistance to prevent your sanity from dropping drastically.

3. **Key Skill Development: Guardian Spell**

"Guardian Angel Spell..." Luo Wei murmured to himself, "What I'm searching for is... the 'Light of Hope'."

After writing this, Luo Wei closed the notebook and took a small glass bottle out of his pocket.

It was a little gadget he had "borrowed" from Dumbledore's office before leaving Hogwarts (actually, it was a discarded, broken memory orb, the smoke inside had dissipated). But in Rowe's eyes, it was radiating a soft and sacred light, as if it were filled with starlight.

[Special Item: Galadriel's Crystal Bottle.]

[Description: May it be your light in the darkness when all other lights have faded.]

[Unlock condition: Confront your inner fears and overcome them.]

Lo Wei gripped the crystal bottle tightly in his hand, his gaze passing through the skylight to the deep night sky, as if piercing through the clouds to see the distant north.

There, an isolated island prison stands amidst raging waves.

He knew that a darker shadow was spreading from Azkaban.
