US police: outlaws

Chapter 11: Police on the Move

Li Yisen pointed to his slanted epaulettes and laughed.

"It's nice to see you again, sir."

Upon hearing this, Evelyn immediately lowered her head, a wave of shame washing over her, and could only mutter to herself.

"What's so great about being a Level 1 police officer?"

The other two also greeted them, since they were the only four newcomers in the group, while there were three veteran trainee officers.

Just then, a bald black police officer walked in. He was tall and a bit overweight. Judging from his shoulder insignia, he was a superintendent and should be the leader of the third team. His name was Andrew Bailey.

"Hurry up and find a seat."

"Today we welcome new blood, and it's a celebrity who's been on the news."

Some of the police officers in the audience wanted to laugh, after all, being on the news and being a prominent figure is not a good thing for the police.

Andrew Bailey stepped down from the stage and gestured for the newcomers to stand up.

"Officer Ethan, stand up and let all your colleagues get to know you."

Andrew explained again as Lee Ethan stood up.

"You stopped a riot at Central Prison three weeks ago, and killed a killer two weeks ago. Ethan Lee, what a remarkable start to your police career."

The explanation impressed the other officers in the group, and a promising new recruit joined the team.

"However, doing a good job requires methods, and adhering to regulations and traditions is essential for shaping the city's police force. Do you understand?"

At that time, Li Yisen couldn't understand the hidden meaning in his words, which was telling him not to cause too much trouble and to behave himself.

"Understood, sir."

"Very good. Since you have already completed your internship, I will not specifically assign you a trainee instructor. For the first month, I will arrange for you to be in another trainee instructor group, and the final assignment will depend on your performance."

Andrew looked at the dozen or so second-level police officers on the field. Some of them were not suitable to be instructors, so he ultimately chose a woman.

"Ottilia, your group should show Ethan around first."

Evelyn's eyes widened instantly, looking at her trainee instructor with longing, hoping he would refuse.

The slightly weathered policewoman nodded.

"Whether you bring one or two, it's the same as bringing two, I have no objection."

"Very good, now let's assign today's tasks."

.

In the police arsenal, Evelyn, dressed in long sleeves, holds two shotguns: one a non-lethal weapon with a green handguard, firing riot control beanbag rounds; the other a Remington M870 shotgun, specifically designed for high-risk situations.

Evelyn looked at her "temporary partner" behind her, who was wearing a body camera, and couldn't help but complain.

"Ethan, shouldn't a man take up a weapon first?"

Lee Esen nodded.

"If it were after get off work, I wouldn't mind doing some gentlemanly things, but it's working hours now. There's no distinction between men and women, only police officers. So, as the only probationary officer, it's only right that you do it."

"A cunning fellow."

Lee Esen suddenly asked.

"By the way, are you a police academy student from the 107th class? Otherwise, I wouldn't have forgotten your good looks from the 108th class."

Evelyn almost smiled when someone complimented her looks, but thankfully she managed to hold it in.

"I'm not telling you."

Ottilia chimed in from the side.

"Evelyn was in class 109."

"Issue 109?"

Lee Esen looked at the policewoman who was half a head shorter than him in surprise. The reason he was unsure if she was from the 107th class was because Evelyn's face was very delicate, full of collagen, and did not look like she had been exposed to the sun and rain.

Who knew it was from the 109th class? Directly serving as a patrol officer proves that they are not technical personnel, which is very rare in the police system.

"A person with connections?"

Ottilia nodded.

"You guessed right, and they're someone important."

"What's their background?"

"I don't have a habit of exposing other people's privacy."

"..."

.

"In the police station parking lot," Ottilia said, pointing to the police car.

"The Ford Crown Victoria, a 4.6-liter V8 engine, rear-wheel drive with a four-speed automatic transmission—that's our loyal partner. I won't be giving you a training course, but you'll need to be tested before you go on a call. It's good for everyone. Tell me what to do before you go on a call."

Lee Esen did not object, but he had some concerns about the vehicle.

"The Victoria is an old model; the Los Angeles Police Department uses Ford Explorers or Ford Raptors."

Ottilia shrugged.

"We're not a big city here, and we don't have much funding. We're already doing very well with Victoria's resources, so people in big cities should start taking exams."

Evelyn, standing to the side, immediately smiled. She remembered her terrible performance on her first day of work, getting one wrong out of ten questions. The other police officers didn't do much better on their first day either, so it was quite enjoyable to see this prominent figure suffer a setback.

Lee Ethan patted the police car.

"Of course, you need to record the condition of the vehicle before responding to a call. Any dents, scratches, cracks, etc., must be recorded, and also..."

More than 10 minutes later, Ottilia nodded in satisfaction.

"Looks like you're really ready to go on duty, much better than Evelyn."

Evelyn retorted guiltily.

"I'd be happy to serve for a year."

"Yes, yes, yes, Miss only needs time to get familiar with it."

Just then, the car radio suddenly came on.

"Police car 9A55. A shop owner reported that a theft suspect has been spotted. He is of Caucasian appearance (Caucasian race) and is wearing a black casual suit. The location is 192 Grand Sands Avenue."

Lee Yisen sat directly in the back row, giving his seat to the two policewomen.

The police car sped past and soon spotted the suspect, but the suspect also noticed the police car heading deeper into the pedestrian area.

The police car was parked on the side of the road, and Ottilia shouted.

"Chase after them, quick!"

"Yes."

The next second, Li Yisen had already sprinted off at full speed, reaching a speed of 100 meters in 15 seconds, which made Ottilia frown.

Chasing criminals is not like running. If you don't keep a good pace and run at full speed, you can easily run out of energy. You should know that a police officer's gear can weigh 10 kilograms.

Evelyn gritted her teeth and followed. She had performed well at the police academy and was on the school's sports team in high school. Her only drawback was that girls change a lot as they grow up.

.

Seeing that the police seemed unable to catch him and were getting further and further away, the chased criminal couldn't help but shout a few sarcastic remarks.

"You think you can arrest me? I was on the school's track and field team back in my school days."

Li Yisen ignored the other party and ran rhythmically, successfully overcoming various obstacles. As time went on, the effects of his strong heart began to appear, giving him excellent endurance.

Even though they had run 800 meters, the suspect was already panting heavily and gradually slowing down, while the police behind him didn't slow down much at all.

"hateful."

The next second, Li Yisen pounced on the prisoner and handcuffed him.

"Behave yourself."

"Wow, are you a professional athlete?"

"Do professional athletes still need to chase for hundreds of meters?"

[Ding! Arrested a criminal who stole $400. Extracting a one-star reward from the criminal's body.]

[Ding! You have acquired a one-star skill in the skill category: Amateur-level Running Techniques. This is a running technique and rhythm summarized by a former amateur-level prisoner.]

Without hesitation, Li Yisen applied the technique to himself. After digesting it, he immediately felt that he could run faster and for longer.

It turns out that level 1 rewards aren't all trash.

Lee Ethan suddenly noticed the trainee police officer following behind him, but the officer's running pace surprised him.

Even though she was wearing a Blank ST series bulletproof vest, she could still run and jump around. Just how big is that?

An adjective came to mind: "baby-faced with huge breasts," truly a hidden talent.
