Chapter 323 Leaving 083
"Enough, stop arguing..."
Tony, standing by the window, rubbed his temples with his eyes closed. His voice wasn't loud, but it carried weight.
"Heh, rotten, Steve."
Natasha sneered, glanced at Steve again, and left the room without looking back.
When they left, the door was shaking as they closed it.
A bewildered Clint finally realized what had happened. He glanced at the others, whose atmosphere seemed off, and decided it was best to remain silent. He then quietly slipped out of the room.
Banner shifted his gaze from Steve to Tony's retreating figure.
The room remained silent for a long time, with only Steve's heavy breathing coming from the right.
After a long while, he sat back down on the sofa, muttering, "Fuck, what kind of mess is this..."
Once the atmosphere had completely calmed down, Banner brought up the question again.
"Tony, tell me your thoughts. We can't let this opportunity slip away."
It's not just them; countless lives throughout the interdimensional world are striving for that one sliver of opportunity that they can never find.
No one will overlook even the smallest opportunity or the smallest clue.
In the past, there have been opportunities and clues that were even greater than suspected, at least much more reliable than what a cloaked Morgan might provide.
But as each item was eliminated, everyone's patience gradually wore thin.
This might be one of the reasons why Tony didn't try his best to stop Steve. He knew Steve wasn't very smart, but he still didn't try his best to stop him.
But now, Tony regrets it; his keen senses tell him he might be missing out on a huge opportunity.
"Perhaps it's been too long, and we've become a bit complacent," Tony said thoughtfully.
"I also intercepted some information about Lin Yi through the management's information channels. I subconsciously had doubts about what we were able to intercept."
"I admit, I did think about it. Steve's method was pretty good; at least it lets us know whether this person is genuinely a possibility or just a smokescreen thrown out by some entity."
"But this time, we might really have made a mistake..." Tony almost never admitted his mistakes.
Oh, it's not that he never admitted it, it's that he admitted it in his heart, but he would never admit it aloud. In that respect, he is very similar to this Steve.
"You guys go back first, I'll think of something to do."
Steve left without a word, but Banner slowly got up.
He looked at Tony's retreating figure, still standing by the window, and said, "Then you'd better hurry. Perhaps he'll leave first thing tomorrow morning."
Tony remained silent for a moment, then waved with his back to Banner without turning around.
……
A luxurious hotel with luxurious suites, a tranquil atmosphere, and floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of simulated stardust in the sky.
This gave Lin Yi the feeling of returning to a three-dimensional universe.
Cat Sister sat on the sofa, combing the carefree Fluffy's washed hair. Eli looked at the stardust in the sky, and she seemed to really like it.
"Get a good rest tonight, we'll leave 083 first thing tomorrow morning."
Cat Sister paused in combing her hair, then continued combing without saying a word.
Rongrong turned her head in surprise and said, "So fast? Weren't we supposed to stay here until the space ruins stabilized, and then set off together?"
Eli withdrew his gaze, turned back, and looked at Lin Yi thoughtfully.
"Has the decision been made not to cooperate?"
Lin Yi hummed in agreement, crossed his legs, rested his chin on his hand, and lightly tapped the sofa armrest with his left hand.
Eli gave her an "I knew it" look; she had already guessed it.
Without asking why, Eli agreed to the decision.
"No, why are you ignoring me? Why are you leaving?" Rongrong asked anxiously.
I was actually looking forward to staying here for a few more days, since I could explore the area more. But today has been so rushed.
Sister Cat combed her cat hair and said softly, "Because this place is no longer suitable for us to stay."
"Huh? Why?" Rongrong asked, somewhat confused.
Sister Cat smiled and said, "Why ask so many questions? You just need to know that we're leaving here tomorrow."
Cat Sister didn't want to say more, and Rongrong didn't want to argue with Cat Sister either, so she could only pout and reluctantly say okay.
At this moment, Lin Yi stood up.
"Most of the beings in the interdimensional gap world are ancient monsters who have lived for an unknown amount of time. Even people from memories will change, let alone individuals from the multiverse."
"I won't treat the Marvel Cinematic Universe characters here as the people I remember. What Tony and Steve did today isn't a huge deal, but it's not insignificant either."
"I left mainly because I didn't like their behavior."
The attitude wasn't a big problem; at least they were willing to put on an act. But Lin Yi wasn't without options, and he found such an obvious scheme disgusting.
Rongrong nodded blankly: "Oh... I don't quite understand."
Lin Yi chuckled: "Forget it, you don't need to understand these things. Get some rest."
These words weren't just meant for Rongrong's ears, but for Eli and Cat Sister's ears.
Although it's not entirely confirmed who the team leader is, judging from everyone's attitude, it seems that Lin Yi is in charge and Eli is assisting.
So putting things out in the open is a way of showing respect to Eli and Cat Sister.
As night deepened, everyone returned to their rooms to rest.
Lin Yi, however, found it difficult to sleep. He placed the shield behind the bedside table and went outside the bedroom alone.
He wanted to look at the starry sky and get some fresh air, but he found that someone was already sitting by the huge French window.
"Huh? Eli? Why aren't you sleeping?" Lin Yi was a little surprised, then understood.
"Are you still thinking about things that are spiraling out of control?"
Eli sat on a single sofa by the floor-to-ceiling window, his knees drawn up to his chest.
He turned around and glanced back when he heard the question.
She nodded expressionlessly.
"As the time for the space ruins to stabilize draws closer, my feeling grows stronger, as if I'm really about to lose control."
Eli stretched out his right hand and reached towards the sky, as if trying to grab something.
Lin Yi sat down on the sofa next to her.
"Didn't I say I didn't want to think about that much for the time being?"
Okay, that's what they say, but who can really not think about these things at all?
"Those images involuntarily surface as soon as I close my eyes," Eli explained, then didn't want to say anything more.
Lin Yi wisely shut up. He couldn't reason with this. As he always said, he would keep an eye on things and take it one step at a time.
...The next morning.
Lin Yi and his group arrived at the airport's ground area early, but before they even entered, they saw Tony Stark leaning against the door.
