Haru had no confidence in facing Augustus, so he turned to look at Enri, wanting her to make the decision.

The Queen walked over and gently patted his arm.

Haru shook off her hand, turned and walked away.

The queen watched his retreating figure and sighed. The princes and princesses exchanged glances and then dispersed.

The servants knelt down and began picking up the broken pieces of porcelain from the ground.

Only the sounds of clinking dishes and footsteps remained in the banquet hall.

Outside the palace, Augustus walked ahead at a moderate pace.

Anli followed him through a long corridor and several doors until they arrived at the entrance of the Supreme Temple.

The temple was very tall, with black walls and a pointed roof, on which stood a statue of the supreme god.

Golden light danced in the statue's eyes.

Anli looked up at the familiar statue and suddenly felt a strange sense of peace.

In her junior uncle's world, she felt more at ease than in any other place.

Augustus pushed open the temple door and stepped aside to make way for him.

"Your Holiness, please come in."

Anli went inside.

The inside of the temple was larger and emptier than the outside.

A high dome, stained glass windows, light streaming in through the windows, casting colorful patches of light on the ground.

The innermost wall is inlaid with a statue of the supreme god and a holy emblem representing the supreme god.

Beneath the statue is a long table with several books and a crystal ball on it.

Anli stood in the center of the hall, turned around, and watched the colorful spots of light fall on her dress and her palms.

The corners of her mouth curled up slightly.

This place is more interesting than the palace.

Anli's gaze fell on the books on the long table. She walked over, picked up the top one, and opened it.

The pages were covered with dense writing, the characters crooked and unlike any she had ever seen before.

She flipped through a few pages, then picked up a second book, which contained the same text.
