Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!
Chapter 438 An Li's Cultivation Ideas
Haru had no confidence in facing Augustus, so he turned to look at Enri, wanting her to make the decision.
"Lady Anri, if you wish to stay in the palace, I will treat you with the highest honors, no less than those of the Supreme Temple."
Anri looked at Haru, then at Augustus.
Although she longed to stay in the palace and enjoy the life of being the center of attention, she remembered what her junior uncle had said: if she wanted to go back, she should go to Augustus.
She didn't know what the relationship was between her junior uncle and Augustus, but since her junior uncle said that, he must have his reasons.
She bowed slightly to Haru.
"Your Majesty, thank you for your hospitality. I enjoy the food here and all the princes and princesses, but I would like to visit the Supreme Temple first."
Haru's expression darkened slightly, but he still nodded.
"Since Lady Anri has made her decision, I will not force her to stay."
He stood up and bowed to Anli.
"The Holy Maiden of the Supreme Divine Court should indeed reside in the Supreme Divine Court; it was my oversight."
Anli returned the greeting. "Thank you, Your Majesty. I will remember these delicacies."
The Queen stood up and took Anli's hand.
"Lady Anri, you are welcome to visit the palace anytime. I will have ice cream prepared for you every day."
Her voice was filled with reluctance.
Anli nodded, touched. "Thank you, Your Majesty."
The princes and princesses also stood up and bowed to Anli.
Anri nodded in response to each of them, and then followed Augustus out of the banquet hall.
The sound of dishes shattering came from behind them, but neither Anli nor Augustus turned around.
Inside the banquet hall, Haru stood still, with shards of porcelain scattered on the floor beneath his feet.
His hands were still trembling, and anger filled his mind.
"Augustus has gone too far!"
His voice was loud and echoed in the empty banquet hall.
The ministers lowered their heads, and none of them dared to speak.
The Queen walked over and gently patted his arm.
"Your Majesty, please calm down."
Haru shook off her hand, turned and walked away.
The queen watched his retreating figure and sighed. The princes and princesses exchanged glances and then dispersed.
The servants knelt down and began picking up the broken pieces of porcelain from the ground.
Only the sounds of clinking dishes and footsteps remained in the banquet hall.
Outside the palace, Augustus walked ahead at a moderate pace.
Anli followed him through a long corridor and several doors until they arrived at the entrance of the Supreme Temple.
The temple was very tall, with black walls and a pointed roof, on which stood a statue of the supreme god.
Golden light danced in the statue's eyes.
Anli looked up at the familiar statue and suddenly felt a strange sense of peace.
In her junior uncle's world, she felt more at ease than in any other place.
Augustus pushed open the temple door and stepped aside to make way for him.
"Your Holiness, please come in."
Anli went inside.
The inside of the temple was larger and emptier than the outside.
A high dome, stained glass windows, light streaming in through the windows, casting colorful patches of light on the ground.
The innermost wall is inlaid with a statue of the supreme god and a holy emblem representing the supreme god.
Beneath the statue is a long table with several books and a crystal ball on it.
Anli stood in the center of the hall, turned around, and watched the colorful spots of light fall on her dress and her palms.
The corners of her mouth curled up slightly.
This place is more interesting than the palace.
Anli's gaze fell on the books on the long table. She walked over, picked up the top one, and opened it.
The pages were covered with dense writing, the characters crooked and unlike any she had ever seen before.
She flipped through a few pages, then picked up a second book, which contained the same text.
The third and fourth books are the same.
"Archbishop, what are these books saying? I can't understand them."
Augustus walked over to her, took the book, and flipped through a few pages.
"These are the cultivation methods of various systems, including knights, warriors, mages, and priests. There are four professions, from beginner to advanced, and they are detailed records. They are a gift from the supreme god to the goblin race."
Anli's eyes lit up.
"Cultivation methods? Can I cultivate them?"
Augustus remained silent for a few moments.
"These methods were bestowed upon the goblin race by the Supreme God. Whether the Holy Maiden's divine body can cultivate them, this old minister does not know."
Augustus, acting as a senior minister, clearly regarded Anri as his master, showing respect for her status.
Anri didn't pay attention to these details and tugged at Augustus's sleeve.
"Let me try, what if it works?"
Augustus hesitated for a moment.
Anli's physical structure was different from theirs, and he had no idea whether he could cultivate.
Moreover... he didn't know whether the Supreme God would allow Lady Anli to cultivate this rudimentary method belonging to goblins, or whether it would defile her divine body.
Augustus walked to the statue, put his hands together, closed his eyes and began to pray, but there was no response.
A moment later, he opened his eyes and took out a bronze-colored book from his bosom.
The book was thick, and the cover was engraved with the emblem of the supreme god.
He placed the book on the table, opened the cover, and pushed it in front of Anli.
"Holy Maiden, please place your hand on the pages of the book. If the Supreme God permits you to cultivate, a method suitable for you will naturally appear; if not..."
He didn't continue.
If it is not allowed, then that is the business of the Supreme God, and has nothing to do with him.
Anri took a deep breath and, following Augustus's instructions, extended her right hand, placing her palm on the page.
The pages were blank; there wasn't a single word on them.
She waited for more than ten breaths, but nothing happened.
Her heart sank.
After waiting for another dozen breaths, nothing still happened.
Just as she was about to pull her hand back, the book page lit up.
Golden light poured out from the pages of the book, climbing up her fingers, into her arms, into her chest, and into her mind.
Countless pieces of information flooded into her consciousness, like a flood rushing into a dried-up riverbed.
The knight's breathing technique, the warrior's battle aura technique, the mage's meditation technique, and the priest's divine spell technique.
Each method has detailed training steps, from beginner to expert, from low to high level.
Her mind was filled with words, images, and spells.
Anli's hand slid off the page, she took two steps back, her face was pale, and sweat was beading on her forehead.
So much knowledge flooded her mind that she was a little overwhelmed.
"So many...so many cultivation methods, for knights, warriors, mages, priests, they're all available."
Augustus looked at her and gave her a gentle smile.
"It seems the Supreme God has given his permission."
Anli clenched her fists and spun around in place.
"I want to cultivate, and I'll begin now."
Augustus raised his hand.
"Holy Maiden, cultivation is not something that can be done in a short time. You need to settle down and rest well first. It's not too late to start tomorrow."
Anli nodded.
So much happened today, I'm a bit tired.
