Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!
Chapter 433 The Followers of N'Zoth
The bone dragon pulled the boat along, flying swiftly through the air.
The sailors dared not move or speak, but simply huddled on the deck.
Some whispered the name of the supreme god, some closed their eyes and trembled, and some huddled together, covering their heads.
The ship flew over the black, scorched earth, over patrolling skeleton soldiers, and over the zombies lying on the beach.
The spirits beneath the ship raised their heads, looking at the vessel, their eyes flickering with ghostly fire.
Finally, the bone dragon placed the boat in the open space in front of the church.
The ship shuddered as it landed, nearly falling apart. Several sailors bounced up from the deck and then fell back down.
The young sailor climbed up from the deck and looked up.
He...saw the cathedral!
Black walls, a pointed roof, and a huge statue standing on the roof.
A black robe, a blurred face, and golden light flickering in sunken eyes.
A statue of the supreme god N'Zoth!
He was stunned.
The cathedral they'd been searching for so long was right here...
He completed his mission, but he was not happy at all. He had fallen into the hands of a monster and didn't even know if he could get back alive.
"The cathedral..." the first mate said softly from the side.
"The Cathedral of the Supreme God..."
"We...we've finally found it!"
The sailors all saw it; some knelt down, clasped their hands together, and recited prayers.
Someone was lying on the deck, their forehead pressed against the wooden planks, tears dripping into the cracks in the wood.
Someone hugged their companion's shoulders and burst into tears.
The cathedral His Majesty the Emperor is looking for is right here!
Mission accomplished!
They can finally go back!
But... is it possible to go back?
They fell into the hands of the monster, surrounded by skeletons and zombies, with various ghosts and the bone dragon overhead.
But they didn't attack; they just watched them.
The church doors opened, and a young girl walked out.
She wore a light blue dress, and her hair was braided into two plaits that hung down to her chest. She had fair skin, large eyes, and thin lips.
She stood at the doorway, looking at the wrecked ship and the little green guys in protective suits, and tilted her head.
"Huh? What's this? It's so ugly."
Her voice was soft, with a hint of disdain.
The captain looked up at the girl, clearly not understanding what she was saying.
The bone dragon flew down from the top of the church, landed behind the girl, folded its wings, and squatted on the ground.
A ghostly green flame flickered in its eye sockets, illuminating the girl's back.
The girl did not turn around; her gaze remained fixed on the goblins.
She looked at the little green-clad figures in protective suits, then at the sailors kneeling on the ground praying, and her lips twitched slightly.
"Where did you come from?"
No one answered that the two languages were incompatible, and it was like talking to a brick wall.
However, the little green-skinned creatures couldn't help but look at each other, seeing that the girl's appearance was similar to that of a great god.
Is this girl... also a god?
Thinking of this, the captain stepped forward, bowed, and respectfully introduced himself and asked a lot of questions.
Anli looked completely bewildered.
What is this little green thing chattering about?
Oh, so it's because of the language barrier.
Thinking of this, Anli hurriedly ran back to find Gregor.
"Grandpa, Grandpa... A bunch of little green sardines have come outside, but I can't understand what they're saying."
Upon hearing this, Gregor immediately realized that the natives had landed on the island. To prevent Anri from being harmed, he also followed her out of the laboratory.
After the two came out, the little green creatures became even more panicked and chattered on and on.
Gregor used his "Language Proficiency" ability and was finally able to understand them.
The captain spoke.
"We are... an exploration ship of the Goblin Empire, ordered by the Emperor to search for the Cathedral of the Supreme God."
Anli glanced at the church behind her, then at the goblins.
"Then you've found it."
The captain's lips moved slightly. "Found it."
Anli crouched down, looking at the sailors kneeling on the ground. "Why are you kneeling?"
A sailor looked up, his face streaked with tears beneath his veil. "We are praying, asking the Most High God to protect us."
Anli smiled. "May the Most High God bless you; you have found His church, and that is the blessing."
The sailor was stunned.
Looking at An Li's innocent smile, he felt as if he were seeing a saint.
Anli squatted down in front of the group of goblins, tilting her head to examine them.
The little green rascals knelt on the ground, some of them still trembling.
She stretched out a finger and poked the shoulder of the young sailor closest to her.
The sailor shrank back slightly, his protective suit was dented, and then bounced back.
"What happened after you found the cathedral?" Anri withdrew her finger. "Are you planning to move it back?"
The captain quickly waved his hand, making a large movement that almost knocked down the first mate next to him.
"No, no! The Cathedral of the Supreme God belongs to the Great God. How could we dare to move it? We are only here to confirm the location of the Cathedral so that we can report back to His Majesty the Emperor."
Anli nodded. "In that case, you can go back now."
The goblins looked at each other, but no one moved.
Go back? How do I go back?
The ship's food and fuel have been exhausted, and it's in disarray from the crash; it'll probably sink as soon as it enters the sea.
Anri looked at them.
"What's wrong?"
The captain's lips moved slightly, his voice hoarse. "Sir, our ship..."
He pointed to the deck beneath his feet.
"The ship is damaged and our supplies have run out, so we can't go back for the time being."
Anli glanced down at the deck.
Several cracks appeared on the deck, the hull was deformed by the barbs, the propeller at the stern was bent, and there were several holes in the steel plates at the bottom of the ship.
She looked up at the captain.
"You want to repair your ship here?"
The captain nodded. "We humbly request permission, sir, to stay on the island for a few days until the ship is repaired, and then we will leave."
Anli stood up and turned to look at Gregor. "Grandpa, could we let Junior Uncle's followers stay on the island for a few days?"
Gregor glanced at the goblins.
They were wearing thick protective suits, and their faces beneath the masks were filled with exhaustion and fear.
Gregor pondered for a moment.
"As long as they don't cause us any trouble, it's fine. The island is too filled with the aura of death. They won't last long in those clothes. We can't go into the church."
Anli turned around and looked at the captain.
"Grandpa said you can stay on the island, but you can't go into the church. The island has a strong aura of death, so be careful."
The captain knelt down, his forehead pressed against the deck.
"Thank you, sir. Thank you, elder."
The other goblins also knelt down, their foreheads banging against the deck with loud thuds.
Anli stepped aside.
"Stop kowtowing, get up."
The goblins got up and began to divide the work.
Several sailors climbed to the bottom of the ship and used steel plates and welding torches to repair the cracks.
Several engineers crawled into the engine room to inspect the fuel lines and energy loops.
Several scientists, armed with testing equipment, searched the island for edible plants and fresh water.
There was another goblin who wasn't working; he was standing next to Anli, holding a notebook and a pen.
Clearly, this little goblin was there specifically to chat with Anli and, incidentally, gather and record some information.
