Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!
Chapter 432 Monsters and "Spaceships"
The captain lowered his binoculars, his voice trembling slightly.
"By the Supreme God, there are monsters on the island."
The air in the cockpit froze.
The first mate took the binoculars, glanced at them, and put them down. "A bunch of moving skeletons, quite a few of them."
The mechanic stood up, gripping the wrench tightly. "Bones? How hard can bones be? We have guns!"
The navigator looked up, tears still streaming down his face. "Can a gun kill them?"
The mechanic remained silent.
He didn't know if the gun could kill those skeletons, since they were inanimate objects.
The captain turned his gaze from the island to the faces of everyone in the cockpit.
"Our supplies won't last more than a few days. If we don't go to the island, we'll die here. If we go to the island, there's a glimmer of hope. The Supreme God will protect us!"
He opened the cockpit door and went onto the deck.
The first mate followed behind, carrying a magic crystal rifle.
The mechanic held a wrench, the navigator was empty-handed, and the communications soldier carried a radio.
The sailors emerged from the ship's hold; they were all Imperial soldiers, professionally trained.
As the boat slowly approached the shore, when it was still a few hundred meters away, the detection equipment on board started to alarm, and a string of red numbers appeared on the screen.
"Pollution levels exceed standards." A scientist stared at the screen, his fingers flying across the keyboard.
"The radiation levels are too high, and there is also unknown energy. The instruments cannot detect the type of energy, and the concentration is very high, exceeding the safety standard by hundreds of times."
The sailors' expressions changed.
Some people have already felt unwell, started coughing, rubbed their eyes, and felt itchy skin.
A young sailor's face broke out in red rashes, spreading from his forehead to his chin.
He reached out to grab it, but was stopped by his companion.
"Don't scratch it, it will get infected if you break the skin."
The scientist pulled a protective suit from the box and tossed it to the sailor. "Put it on, everyone put it on. The suits will protect you from some of the damage."
The sailors hurriedly put on their protective suits, zipped them up, and fastened their masks.
Those goblins who had practiced extraordinary cultivation methods had milder reactions; they only felt a slight tingling on their skin and did not develop a rash.
The two "divine sorcerers" had the easiest job.
They are faithful believers of the Most High God, praying daily and going to church weekly to pray before the statue of God, with a faint flow of holy light energy within them.
Those energies form a thin protective film on their skin, blocking most of the harmful substances.
The boat sailed forward a little further, less than two hundred meters from the shore.
The skeleton soldiers patrolling the shore suddenly stopped.
Their heads turned toward the ship, and the eerie green flames in their eye sockets flickered.
The zombie crawled up from the beach, its body covered in black sand and black liquid dripping from its mouth.
More and more undead emerged from the shadows of the island; skeletons, zombies, ghouls... densely packed the entire beach.
The captain raised his right hand.
"Stop advancing, fight here, don't go ashore."
The ship stopped, and the sailors, holding magic crystal rifles, lay prone on the gunwale, aiming at the skeleton soldiers on the shore.
The captain chopped downwards with his hand.
"Fire!"
A dozen or so blue beams shot out from the gun muzzle and hit the low-level skeleton soldiers.
The beam shattered the ribs of the first few skeletons, sending them sprawling to the ground, their bone fragments scattered everywhere.
The skeleton soldiers behind them continued forward, stepping on the broken bones.
The beam of light shone again, and several more bodies fell.
But there were too many skeletons; as soon as one batch fell, another surged in.
These lowest-level skeletons are virtually endless.
Just as the goblins were attacking, the ship suddenly shook.
The first mate gripped the gunwale and looked down.
Something is churning in the water.
It was a large black fish, but unlike ordinary fish, it had festering wounds on its body from which gray liquid oozed.
Some fish have two heads, some have eyes all over their bodies, and some have tiny tentacles.
They're monsters too!
Zombie fish, mutated fish, irradiated fish, and various sea beasts and sea monsters.
They surged up from underwater, surrounded the hull, and rammed it with their heads, gnawed at it with their mouths, and whipped it with their tails.
The ship's metal hull emitted a dull thud.
"There are fish below the ship! Lots of strange fish!" the chief engineer's voice came through the walkie-talkie, filled with panic.
An old sailor let out a scream.
A fish with long toes climbed onto the gunwale and bit his boot.
He hit the fish with the butt of his gun a few times, and the fish loosened its grip and fell back into the water.
A hole was bitten in the boot, exposing the toes inside.
Another fish jumped onto the deck and thrashed about on the ground, its mouth opening and closing to reveal two rows of fine teeth.
The young sailor kicked it back into the water.
The ship shook again, more violently than before, and tilted to one side a few degrees.
A huge tentacle emerged from underwater and entangled the stern of the boat.
The whiskers are grayish-white, with suction cups on the surface and fine teeth inside the suction cups.
The tentacles tightened, bending the metal railing at the stern.
"Octopus! Giant octopus!" someone shouted.
The sailors screamed and ran back; some fell, some crawled, and some lay trembling on the deck.
The first mate raised his magic crystal rifle and fired at the tentacles.
A blue beam of light struck the tentacles, causing a hole to explode in their surface, from which gray liquid gushed out.
The whiskers twitched slightly, but didn't loosen.
The mechanic picked up a bomb from the ground, pulled the pin, and threw it at the tentacles.
The bomb exploded next to the tentacles, sending seawater flying several meters high. A section of the tentacles was severed, and more gray liquid gushed from the broken end.
Liquid dripped onto the deck, making a hissing sound, and corroded several pits into the deck.
The severed tentacle lay on the deck, still wriggling.
But more tentacles emerged from underwater.
Two, three, four...
They tangled around the hull, tightening it, making a clicking sound.
A sailor was dragged into the water after his leg was caught by a tentacle. He screamed as water filled his mouth and his voice trailed off.
The tentacles retracted underwater, a string of bubbles rose to the surface, and then nothing happened.
The first mate's eyes turned red, and he picked up the magic crystal gun and fired wildly into the water.
The energy beam shot into the water, exploding into sprays, but there were too many tentacles to kill them all.
Seeing everyone in chaos, the captain drew his gun and fired a shot into the air.
"May the Most High God protect us!"
The sailors shouted in unison.
"May the Most High God protect you! May the Most High God protect you!"
Now, only the great gods can give them courage.
Suddenly, the sky darkened.
A huge shadow rose from the island, growing closer and larger.
Its wings spread wide, covering half the sky.
The bones were bluish-green, gleaming coldly against the greyish-white sky.
A ghostly green flame burned in his eye sockets, flickering like two burning stars.
Bone Dragon!
It flew over from the island, gliding without flapping its wings.
Its shadow swept over the ship, and the seawater turned black beneath it.
The tentacles retracted, the zombie fish scattered, and the skeleton soldiers stopped.
All the spirits stopped.
Their king... has arrived!
The bone dragon hovered above the ship.
It lowered its head and looked at the small green dots wearing protective suits on the deck.
The eerie green flames danced in its eye sockets, reflecting the faces of those tiny green dots.
The sailors lay sprawled on the deck, some with their eyes closed, some with their mouths open, and some holding their heads.
The old sailor knelt on the deck, his hands clasped together, chanting the name of the Most High God.
The magic crystal rifle fell to the ground, and no one picked it up.
The bomb rolled into a corner, and nobody went to see it.
These things are fine for dealing with ordinary monsters, but they're not enough to deal with the monster in front of us...
That's a joke!
The captain's pistol slipped from his hand, fell onto the deck, bounced twice, and rolled to the side of the ship.
His legs were shaking, his hands were shaking, and his lips were shaking.
He wanted to kneel down, but his legs wouldn't obey him.
The bone dragon's claws reached down and, to the goblins' horrified gaze, seized the ship as if it were a toy.
The boat was lifted out of the water and into the air.
Water dripped from the bottom of the boat and fell onto the sea, splashing up tiny droplets.
Several zombie fish were still hanging on the gunwale, but after a few shakes, they fell back into the sea.
The sailors grabbed onto whatever they could get their hands on; some clung to railings, some lay on the deck, and some were thrown into the cabin.
The entire ship floated gracefully in the air!
