Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!

Chapter 210 Three Apprentices

Lynn pondered the gains and losses of taking on these apprentices.

Ten years is indeed a long time, and there are many miscellaneous tasks to do. If I get distracted, it will definitely affect my cultivation. Taking on a few apprentices would be a good idea.

There are quite a few apprentices in the academy, but they choose their mentors on the first day of enrollment. If they want to recruit new apprentices, they have to wait for the "recruitment conference" held every five years.

There are still about two years until the next one, and those recruited are all newcomers with no cultivation experience, so I need to take the time to train them.

Lynn raised his eyes, his gaze slowly sweeping over Oleg, Baal, and Arya.

The two boys and one girl all seemed to be of average or below-average talent, but at this age, being able to reach the level of first or second-class apprentices was quite good in a small family with scarce resources.

"I'll accept the magic stone," Lynn finally said, bringing a smile to the faces of the clan leaders.

"I can keep this person on a trial basis, but there are a few rules that must be made clear beforehand."

The three clan leaders perked up: "Please speak, my lord!"

"First, the people sent here must be honest and obedient. I don't need people with too many 'ideas' here."

Lynn's gaze lingered for a moment on Oleg's seemingly submissive face, as if he were hinting at something.

He could sense that although Oleg appeared extremely calm, he had quite a few thoughts running through his mind.

Baal, who seemed extremely lively, was actually more simple-minded, with a pure boyish heart.

As for Arya...

The girl kept glancing at me as soon as she entered, her mind already in turmoil. Compared to the other two's nervousness, she was more shy.

It seems this girl came with ulterior motives...

"Secondly, once they have joined my ranks, they must absolutely obey my orders. Their life, death, and fate are decided by my word, and their families must not interfere for any reason."

These words, spoken casually, sent a chill down the spines of all three clan leaders.

This means relinquishing absolute control over these younger generations, at least under Lynn's command.

If they angered Lynn and he killed them without warning, they would have no choice but to accept it.

Morton and Heruk hesitated slightly, but the thought of getting involved with such a young and promising professional wizard made it a worthwhile investment.

The two men gritted their teeth and nodded: "We will do as you command, sir!"

Vera looked at her daughter, Arya, a complex emotion flashing in her eyes, and nodded gently.

"It is Arya's blessing to be able to follow you, sir. Her life is naturally in your hands."

As the only female clan leader, she naturally understood the difficult situation women faced in this world.

If one cannot acquire great strength or have something to rely on, one will sooner or later be swallowed up by this cannibalistic world.

And Lynn was that support.

"Third," Lynn continued.

"If you are unusable or violate the rules during the trial period, I will deal with you according to my rules. Don't bother me then."

"Yes, yes, no complaints whatsoever!" the three clan leaders quickly agreed.

"Then, you may stay. You can go back now," Lynn said, dismissing them.

The three clan leaders breathed a sigh of relief and gave their respective juniors a few words of advice, such as "be sure to do your best" and "obey all orders from your elders," before respectfully leaving the fortress.

Inside the stone hall, only Lynn and three slightly nervous new apprentices remained.

Oleg, quick-witted, tugged at the two people beside him, and then the three of them solemnly bowed to Lynn, who was about the same age as them.

"Oleg (Bar, Aria) pays homage to the Master, wishing the Master's sorcery to flourish and the truth to endure forever."

Lynn nodded, gesturing for the group to stand up, thus formally accepting them as his new family.

Looking at the group again, Oleg was the strongest of the three, specializing in "Undead Construction," and the "Keller Family" he represented was also the head of the three major families.

Baal is the only first-tier apprentice who specializes in "Bone Armament," which strengthens his own bones and allows him to develop a hard "exoskeleton" on his body.

He is a member of a branch of the "Iron Skeleton Family". The Iron Skeleton Family has not produced any outstanding talents in the past two or three generations, and Baal is already the best among them.

Arya's "Night Song Family" is known for its mental and soul attacks, and Arya also has "medium soul affinity talent," which is the highest among the three.

After learning about the three people's situations, Lynn immediately began assigning tasks:

"Oleg, you majored in Necromancer, so you should be quite meticulous. You'll be in charge of the mine's production records, ore inventory verification, and the accounting coordination with the outpost's logistics."

"Every transaction from now on must be clearly recorded and reported to me regularly."

Oleg stepped forward, bowed deeply, and said in a steady voice, "Yes, sir, Oleg will not fail in his duty."

"Baal." Lynn looked at the boy who seemed a little timid.

"Since you are clever, you will be responsible for daily patrols, checking the safety of each major mine tunnel, monitoring for any abnormalities at the leyline nodes, dispatching undead miners to designated areas for mining, and reporting any situations that cannot be handled in a timely manner."

Baal nodded hurriedly, his voice a little strained: "I-I understand, sir! Baal will certainly conduct a thorough inspection!"

He stole a glance at the enormous undead figure that was vaguely visible outside the hall and swallowed hard.

From now on, he'll be dealing with these ghostly things.

Finally, Lynn's gaze fell on Arya.

The girl met his gaze, slightly curtsied, her posture elegant and respectful.

"Arya, you are responsible for handling daily chores within the fortress, organizing documents, and making simple external communications when necessary."

"You don't need to worry too much about my daily life; keep it simple. But all correspondence and records must be properly organized."

"Yes, Lord Lynn," Arya replied in a clear and gentle voice.

"Arya will do her best." She paused, then said softly, as if gathering her courage.

"Since you are new here, my lord, you may not be familiar with some of the flavors of the North. My mother is a skilled cook, and Arya has learned a thing or two. If you don't mind the simple fare, we can arrange the food..."

"Whatever you want," Lynn said noncommittally.

After merging with the bloodline of the "Starry Sky Beast", his metabolic rate increased significantly, and his energy demand also increased dramatically.

Fortunately, he can replenish his energy consumption by absorbing external energy; otherwise, he would have to keep "eating like crazy".

Apart from having a big meal when he first entered the main world, he has been eating high-energy food stored in the skeletal ring for the past few days and has not spent any effort on anything fancy.

But now that we've come to the main world, we should enjoy the life of a normal person, and delicious food is naturally indispensable.

After the tasks were assigned, Lynn waved for them to leave and settle down on their own. There were plenty of empty rooms in the fortress, and they could choose their own accommodations.

Oleg and Bal exchanged a glance and chose a side room near the mine entrance.

They still held Lynn in awe and dared not get too close.

After a moment's hesitation, Arya chose the side room, which was originally used to store miscellaneous items, that was closest to Lynn's main training room.

She remembered her mother's instructions, feeling both shy and expectant.
