Chapter 366 Legilimency
Chapter 366 Legilimency
Maurice was never stingy with his friends.
He was naturally willing to share even something as trivial as capturing the mind and thoughts.
but..
"What do you intend to do with Legilimency?" Maurice asked curiously.
Fred and George exchanged a glance, their expressions somewhat subtle.
Morris waited a moment, and seeing that they were still hesitating, he waved his hand, "If you don't want to talk about it, that's fine, it's your privacy."
It's highly unlikely to be legal, but presumably these two brothers wouldn't do anything arson, murder, or robbery.
He himself doesn't have any extreme moral fastidiousness.
"There's nothing to hide," Fred finally said, scratching his head. "Our latest invention might require this magic."
"Besides," George added, "we have a materials supplier we've been working with for a long time, and he's been behaving very strangely lately. We suspect he's been cursed or impersonated. If we could read his mind, we could find out the truth."
Morris raised an eyebrow. "A supplier?"
"Yes," George said frankly. "You know, we supply the Ministry with many products. Those products require quite a few rare magical materials."
"By the way," Fred shrugged, "he wasn't a good man, but we chose him because his goods were much cheaper than the market price."
It seems that even with the Weasleys watching over them, Fred and George had long since learned to deal with all sorts of people.
Morris was not surprised by this.
Doing business naturally requires interacting with all sorts of people.
Seeing that Maurice's expression didn't change, the twins breathed a slight sigh of relief.
Stable.
Morris thought for a few seconds and said, "I don't think Legilimency will be very effective."
Fred paused, then asked, "Why?"
"It's very simple," Morris explained patiently, "The Legilimency spell isn't as practical as you might think."
Most ordinary wizards use Legilimency, but even if the target hasn't undergone specialized Occlumency training, they can only read the most superficial and fragmented thoughts.
Fred looked slightly disappointed, but still said, "Shall we give it a try?"
Morris nodded. "If you'd like, we can start tomorrow. It's a bit late today."
The twins both breathed a sigh of relief.
Then, George asked with great interest, "How long do you think it will take us to learn?"
how long?
Morris thought for a moment.
The twins are quite talented, and with all that meditation they've practiced, things should go smoothly for them.
"With your magical talent, this spell won't be a problem." He considered for a moment. "A week?"
Fred exclaimed in surprise, "We have such great talent?"
"Excellent, and absolutely unique in the world," Morris replied without hesitation.
Upon hearing these remarks, Fred and George both blushed.
Seeing this, Morris was smug.
Now that things have come to this, let's say a few more words of praise.
This will make both parties happy.
He's such a smooth talker!
After the morning classes on the second day, Maurice and the twins borrowed the Charms classroom to practice Legilimency.
As soon as they stepped inside, Fred eagerly asked, "Where do we begin?"
Morris took his wand out of his pocket and said, "Beginners should start with wands and spells. Once you're more proficient, you can try wandless spellcasting."
"Now I'm going to let you experience what it's like to be legate. This will be beneficial for learning this magic. Who wants to go first? Don't worry, I won't delve into your memories; I'll only read the most superficial ones."
Fred and George exchanged a glance.
Having one's memories spied on is undoubtedly an extremely sensitive matter, and it will inevitably make one feel somewhat uncomfortable.
Fortunately, the person in question was Maurice, so it wasn't unacceptable to them.
"I'll go first," Fred stepped forward. "Anyway, I don't have any secrets to hide."
"Really?" George chuckled to himself. "What about what happened the other day?"
"Shut up." Fred glared at George.
Morris ignored their bickering and wasn't particularly interested in "that thing" that George was talking about.
"Get ready," he said, pointing his wand at Fred's temple. "Relax, don't resist, just feel it."
I won't hide anything.
If he wanted, he could perform Legilimency without the other person being aware of it.
Fred took a breath and nodded slowly.
"Capturing thoughts and ideas."
Morris recited the incantation clearly.
In an instant, Fred felt something forcefully squeeze into his head.
It wasn't stimulating at all; on the contrary, it was quite mild—this was the result of Morris's deliberate control.
A few seconds later, Morris put his wand away.
Fred blinked twice, seemingly still not quite understanding.
George asked curiously, "How are you feeling?"
Fred feigned a pained expression, clutched his forehead, and groaned dramatically, "I feel like someone has ripped a piece out of my brain."
George said expressionlessly, "Your acting is too fake."
"oh."
Next, Morris made George experience what it felt like to be leged on.
"Can we officially begin now?"
Fred was already eager to try, twirling his wand twice in his hand before aiming it at George.
The same goes for George.
Clearly, their training targets are each other.
"Wait a moment."
As Maurice spoke, he turned and waved his wand at the door. The door suddenly opened, and a figure stumbled in, nearly falling to the ground.
It's Ron.
He steadied himself, looked up, and said with a slightly embarrassed expression, "Uh... hi?"
Fred put down his wand and asked in surprise, "You were eavesdropping outside?"
Ron immediately shook his head. "No, I just came to get my textbook. Last class was Charms, and I forgot it here."
He pointed to the desk in the far corner, and sure enough, there was a book lying on it.
A very reasonable explanation.
"We're doing serious business," Fred urged. "Take your books and let's go."
'
At that moment, Ron suddenly spoke up: "Were you practicing Legilimency just now? Can I join in?"
Fred and George both looked at Morris.
Morris shrugged. "I'd love to."
"real!?"
Ron's face lit up with joy, and he strode over to Fred and George, not even bothering with the textbooks on the table.
George stared at his younger brother and said, "This magic is dangerous."
He hadn't expected Ron to be so enthusiastic.
"I know," Ron said with unusual seriousness, "but I want to learn."
"Why?" George pressed.
"That's none of your business."
Hearing Ron's answer, Fred lowered his voice and said to George beside him, "Sometimes I really don't understand what little Ronnie is thinking."
"Me too," George nodded in agreement.
"Hey, I can hear you," Ron protested. "And don't call me that."
Fred patted Ron on the shoulder with a cheerful smile.
The protest was invalid.
