After saying that, Strange walked towards the two Ultron robots without glancing at the Illuminati on the platform again.

He accepted his fate and followed these killing machines step by step toward the end of his life.

He felt no fear, nor did he have any aversion to death.

In the countless days and nights since losing Christine, he sat alone in the darkness of the New York temple, a feeling more painful than death.

And now, he has put that diamond ring on Christine's finger.

Hearing her say "I do" herself was already a perfect ending.

Christine stood there, stunned.

Strange's last words kept echoing in my ears.

"No matter how reality changes, I will love you in every universe."

She looked down at the ring in her hand. It was more than just a ring; it was a promise, a promise she had waited far too long for, a promise she thought she would never receive in her lifetime.

And now, the man who made that promise is walking toward the execution chamber.

Is this the ending she wanted?

No.

Christine suddenly woke up.

They chased after Strange in the direction he had gone.

"stop."

A cold voice rang out in front of me.

Mordo stood like a statue in her path, his eyes filled with warning.

"Get out of the way, Mordo." Christine looked at him coldly, without stopping.

"Wake up, Dr. Palmer," Mordo said with a hint of sarcasm, his hands behind his back. "That's not your ex. He's just a variant from another universe. A dangerous... variant."

"This is none of your business," Christine said firmly. "I just want to see him one last time, that's all."

"Go back, Christine," Mordo said, his tone softening slightly. "Tomorrow morning, the sun will rise as usual, and your life will return to normal."

"I said, get out of the way!" Christine stared into Mordo's eyes, refusing to budge an inch.

Mordo narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing Christine's expression.

A moment later, he snorted and stepped aside to make way for him.

"Go. Go witness his destruction; perhaps that will finally put your mind at ease."

Christine didn't look at him again, and ran past Mordo toward the execution chamber.

……

The execution chamber is located on the ground floor of the building.

There are no superfluous decorations here, only cold walls and glaring shadowless lights.

A metal restraint bed was placed in the center of the room.

Strange lay there peacefully.

Wrists and ankles were locked with electromagnetic locks, and a restraint ring was also fixed around the neck.

Two Ultron robots are operating the control panel.

A robotic arm descended from the ceiling, and several syringes filled with a clear liquid emerged, aimed at Strange's jugular vein.

There was no pain, no struggle.

The toxin will end his life in three seconds.

Just then, Strange heard the sound of glass being tapped.

He turned his head.

He saw Christine through the isolation glass of the execution chamber.

Her hair was a little messy, her hands were pressed tightly against the glass, and her eyes were red.

Strange looked at her and smiled slightly.

Don't be sad.

He mouthed the words to her silently.

Tears streamed down Christine's face outside the glass.

"Self-check complete. Target locked. Execution procedure initiated," the robot's voice announced in the room.

The syringe is pushed forward.

"To hell with the Illuminati," Christine muttered.

Without hesitation, she pulled out the Buster Foundation's advanced command controller and skillfully connected it to the data interface on the outer wall of the isolation room.

"Authentication: Christine Palmer. Security Level: A. Request to override current area robot control permissions."

Without pausing, Christine directly entered a backdoor key.

"Permissions overwrite successful".

Inside the execution chamber, the Ultron robot, which was about to inject the lethal agent into Strange's vein, suddenly stopped.

"Instructions changed, target restraints lifted."

With a few crisp clicks, the electromagnetic locks on Strange's body popped open simultaneously.

Strange stared in shock at the scene. He propped himself up and looked toward the doorway in disbelief.

Christine strode into the execution chamber, grabbed Strange's arm, and her eyes were brighter than ever before.

"Christine?" Strange exclaimed in disbelief. "What are you doing? Are you crazy?"

"Didn't you say you wanted to live a normal life with me?" Christine gripped his hand tightly, a carefree smile spreading across her face.

"Yes!" Strange nodded blankly.

"Then run!"

Without saying a word, Christine grabbed him, turned around, and ran wildly towards the door.

The moment they rushed out of the execution room, the alarms throughout the entire building suddenly went off.

"Alert! Anomaly detected in the execution room of Sector C! The execution target has escaped! All combat units, proceed immediately to intercept!"

"They reacted quickly." Strange followed Christine through the intricate corridors. "Do you have any plans, Dr. Palmer?"

"The plan is to survive." Christine quickly checked the controller screen. "They're remotely disabling my access. We have to get out of the main building before the firewall resets."

Ahead in the corridor, a squad of Ultron robot patrolmen rushed out, each carrying a palm-sized energy pulse.

"Stop! Cover your head and squat down, surrender immediately!" the robot warned.

"Turn left!" Christine shouted, pulling Strange into a side road.

Several scorching energy beams grazed their bodies, struck the wall, and left charred bullet holes.

"That was really exciting." Strange wasn't scared at all; instead, he laughed. "I must admit, the way you dragged me along just now was quite charming."

"Shut up, Stephen. Save your energy for running." Christine expertly connected the controller to a terminal interface on the wall. "I'm trying to hack the ventilation system in this area."

"This is your territory, isn't it?"

"Of course, half of the technical equipment in this building is maintained by the Buster Foundation," Christine typed on the virtual keyboard. "Done. The security door in front will open for three seconds."

"Are you ready?" Christine put away the equipment and looked at Strange.

Strange smiled and nodded. "As you wish, sir."

The access control light turned green, and the two rushed out of their cover.

The door slammed shut behind them, keeping the robot's firepower at bay.

The two leaned against the heavy security door, slightly out of breath.

This is an underground equipment level of the Illuminati, filled with massive pipes and roaring cooling systems.

"We're safe for now." Christine wiped the cold sweat from her forehead. "This leads directly to the underground parking garage."

They moved quickly along the narrow passage.

The Illuminati's building was so large that even with alarms blaring, it would be impossible to completely seal off every corner within minutes.

Moreover, Christine is very familiar with the blind spots here.
