Become a Homelander and a Marvel superstar

Chapter 254 The Homelander Was Right

VGD headquarters building.

The office that originally belonged to Azu is now temporarily belonging to Jessica.

Although she didn't like sitting in that chair, there were some things that had to be resolved there.

"Here you go." Jessica pushed a map across the table and slid it in front of Skye.

"What's this?" Skye asked, picking up the map with a puzzled look.

"These are those mysterious symbols you gave me before..." Jessica poured herself a glass of whiskey and continued, "The raccoon deciphered them and said they were Kree map coordinates."

"The declassified information shows that this is a relic left on Earth by the Kree, located underground in Puerto Rico."

Before Skye could process all this information, Jesse opened a drawer, took out an exquisite black box, slid it across the table, and pushed it in front of Skye.

"Open it and take a look."

Skye carefully opened the box.

Inside, a brand-new digital watch lay quietly.

"This is?"

"The latest model of the Water Special Operations watch," Jessica explained, "has the highest level of support privileges built in."

"Although Homelander is not on Earth right now... Wot will not stand idly by and do nothing about you."

Jessica's gaze softened.

"If you are in danger, Walter's support will arrive immediately."

"No matter where you are on Earth."

Skye held the watch in her hand; the coolness of the metal made her eyes well up with tears.

"Why?" Skye bit her lip. "Why are you so nice to me? I'm just a..."

"Don't misunderstand." Jessica put down her glass, looking out at the empty sky. "I'm not helping you; I'm just helping Anthony fulfill his promise."

"That bastard always has a good eye for people... although I don't understand why he cares about you so much."

Jessica sighed.

"Take your things and go. Go do what you need to do."

Don't let him down.

……

Shortly after Skye and Coulson's S.H.I.E.L.D. team had left.

There was another knock on the office door.

Nick Fury walked in.

He chose to stay.

"Miss Jones." Fury walked to the desk and sat down.

"A rare guest." Jessica leaned back in her chair, watching him with a leisurely air. "The former director of S.H.I.E.L.D., actually letting his subordinates leave first and staying behind alone. Let me guess... you're trying to scam some funding from Vought to repair your secret base?"

"I want to talk about the Skrulls," Fury said, ignoring Jessica's sarcasm and getting straight to the point.

"Oh?" Jessica raised an eyebrow. "Those green-skinned chameleons? Skynet already told me about them. I heard they threw a huge party in Chernobyl and wanted to turn Earth into a radiation playground?"

"That's Gravik, the leader of the radicals," Fury said in a deep voice. "Not all Skrulls want war."

"So?" Jessica leaned forward. "What are you trying to say? That I should give them green cards? Or that I should allocate a piece of land in New York and build them a 'Little Skrull City'?"

“I want to solve this problem.” Fury looked directly into Jessica’s eyes. “I understand them. I’ve dealt with them for decades. I know their culture, their weaknesses.”

"You need someone knowledgeable to handle this mess."

"I... want to join Walter."

Jessica was silent for a moment, then suddenly burst out laughing.

"ha……"

"Let me sort out this logic. Nick Fury, the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D., now a wanted criminal. You want to come to Vought... to work?"

"But you're the one who started all this, aren't you?" Jessica's smile vanished, her eyes sharpening. "Now that things have gone too far, you're coming to Walter seeking a solution?"

"I'm sorry, Director Fury. While Vought is a commercial company, we don't harbor traitors."

The words "traitor" struck Fury like a heavy hammer blow to his face.

Even someone as composed as him couldn't help but have veins bulging on his forehead at this moment.

"I'm not a traitor!" Fury growled, slamming his hands on the table. "Everything I've done has been for the Earth! For humanity!"

"Back then, we didn't have Avengers, we didn't have Homelander! Faced with an alien threat, we were like a bunch of monkeys with sticks! I had to use every resource at my disposal!"

"Perhaps my methods were dishonorable, perhaps I made mistakes. But I have never betrayed humanity!"

He was breathing heavily, his chest heaving violently.

"I'm standing here now, enduring your mockery, not to find a job and retire."

"But... I want to make up for all of this."

Silence fell over the office.

Jessica stared into Fury's eyes for a long time.

Just as Fury was about to give up, Jessica spoke up.

"Go report to Skynet."

"Skynet is handling the identification and purge of the Skrulls, so you'd better pray you're still of some use."

"But remember, Fury," Jessica's voice rang out coldly as Fury got up to leave.

"If I find out you're using your spy tricks at Walter..."

"I will personally throw you into the sun. Believe me, I have the ability to do so now."

Fury paused for a moment.

He didn't turn around, but silently opened the door.

He stopped just as he was about to step across the threshold.

"I have one more question," Fury said, his back to Jessica. "Brock Rumlow... the current director of S.H.I.E.L.D., he's one of yours, right?"

Jessica didn't say anything, but just smiled meaningfully.

Silence itself is the answer.

Fury shook his head with a self-deprecating smile.

"I knew it..."

"What I consider a formidable enemy is, in his eyes... truly insignificant."

He pushed open the door and stepped out, his back view somewhat desolate.

But what he didn't tell Jessica was that what truly made him decide to join Vought was neither the Skrulls' betrayal nor S.H.I.E.L.D.'s wanted notice.

But it was on that day, at the moment he crashed his Hellfire fighter to the ground.

He finally pressed the button on the old pager.

That pager, which he had treasured for decades and regarded as his last trump card.

The signal has been sent.

But even now, the sky remains empty.

Carroll did not come.

The people of the motherland are right.

Ultimately, Earth can only rely on Earthlings themselves.

metropolis.

This city, once hailed as the city of tomorrow, is now shrouded in the shadow of death.

The LexCorp Tower has been transformed into the power center of the Superman regime.

Clark Kent, once the chosen one and now the Apocalypse General, listened to the report below with a blank expression.

"So..." he asked in a deep voice.

"Are you saying that our 'fire pit' remediation projects around the world are being sabotaged?"

"Yes... General."

A commander stepped forward to report.

"It's not just the fire pits. Our three main concentration camps in North America, as well as the Parademons incubation facilities in Europe, have all been devastated in the last few hours."
