Become a Homelander and a Marvel superstar

Chapter 250 What is True Power?

Harley was blowing bubblegum nearby, but she stopped when she heard this.

"And then?" Azu asked expressionlessly.

"Then Clark came back." Bruce opened his eyes, his gaze filled with pain. "He happened to see that scene."

"At that moment, the heart of a body of steel shattered."

"Darkseid changed him at that moment..."

"It's the Anti-Life Equation, a mathematical formula that can strip all intelligent life of its free will," Cyborg Victor explained as he stepped forward. "It proves that hope, love, and free will are meaningless. It can directly rewrite the logic of a living being's brain, forcing it to unconditionally submit to the user."

"From that moment on, Superman died," Bruce continued. "What survived was Darkseid's most loyal general."

"The Justice League... fell apart on that day."

Bruce pulled up a list of the dead.

"Diana...Wonder Woman."

"She led the Amazons in resistance and died on the battlefield. Her body was taken back to Paradise Island for cremation, and Paradise Island subsequently sank into the sea."

"Arthur Curry... Aquaman."

"He died by his own weapon in the battle against Darkseid. His trident is now in Mera's hands; she is the last exile of Atlantis."

Bruce turned off the holographic projection, plunging the hall into darkness.

"This is the current situation."

"In the past few months, 80% of the world's population has disappeared. They either died in war or were captured and transformed into mindless Parademons."

"Superman established a totalitarian empire. He had an army of fanatical puppets dressed in Nazi-style uniforms with the 'S' symbol, who hunted down any resistance in the ruins."

"But that's not the worst of it," Cyborg interjected, projecting a massive black tower into the air.

"That was an information transmission base located in the heart of Metropolis. The Superman regime used Apokolips technology to transform Earth's existing satellite, broadcasting, and internet systems."

"They convert the anti-life equation into electronic signals and insert them into all receiving devices 24 hours a day. Anyone who hears or sees that signal will have their will gradually eroded, eventually turning them into a walking corpse."

"We estimate..." Bruce paused slightly, "...that there are only a little over a billion human survivors left in the world. And that number is decreasing rapidly every minute."

"Over a billion...?"

Azu nodded thoughtfully.

This number gave him a slight sense of relief; although it was much less than he had expected, it was still a huge number.

If managed properly, the popularity generated by these billions of desperate people can be of exceptionally high quality and fervent enthusiasm.

"That does sound really bad." Azu nodded, his tone genuinely concerned. "So, our next task is simple, right?"

He pointed to the projection of the black tower.

"We stormed into Metropolis, took over that transmission base, and stopped that so-called formula from turning people into idiots."

"No," Bruce rejected the suggestion outright.

"That's useless. As long as Superman is still around, as long as Darkseid is still around, that signal can be rebuilt at any time. Besides, with our current strength, attacking Metropolis head-on would be suicide."

"Really? So what's your plan, Bat?" Azu raised an eyebrow, looking at him with interest.

"We need to find Kryptonite." Bruce looked into Azu's eyes. "That's the only thing that can hurt him."

"Kryptonite?" Azu raised an eyebrow. "Interesting. If I were Superman, I would never allow such a thing to exist."

“That’s right,” Cyborg replied. “I’ve searched all known online and black market data worldwide. The Superman regime has destroyed all its Kryptonite reserves over the past few months.”

"That trap we just saw was the last clue."

"That's it?" Azu shrugged. "Then what's the point of your plans?"

"No, there's one more piece." Bruce's voice lowered.

"Where?" Steelbone asked doubtfully.

"No, not the location," Bruce shook his head. "It's the people."

"There's a madman in this world who would definitely keep that thing hidden away and has the ability to evade Superman's search."

Bruce turned around, his gaze sweeping over the crowd and landing on Harley, who was playing with a baseball bat.

"The Joker... he's the only one who can help us now."

"Clang!"

Harley dropped the baseball bat from her hand.

Upon hearing this name, Harley Quinn, who had been laughing and joking just moments before, suddenly became furious, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.

"Don't mention that name to me, Bat Boy! I'm warning you!"

"I will never ask that bastard for help! Never in my life!" Harley screamed, filled with extreme disgust and anger.

"If I saw him, the only thing I would do was shove this stick down his throat! All the way down to his stomach!"

"Harley, calm down," Bruce tried to soothe her, but his voice remained harsh. "We need that Kryptonite to save the world."

"To hell with the world!" Harley covered her ears and shook her head frantically. "I won't listen! I won't listen! Bat! You promised me!!"

She suddenly turned around, grabbed Ah Zu's arm, looked up, and her big eyes were filled with tears, making her look pitiful.

"You'll support me, won't you, Mr. Candy?"

"You won't force me to go find that bastard, will you?"

Azu lowered his head and looked at Harley's tear-streaked face. He reached out and gently wiped away her tears.

"Of course, darling." He looked up at Batman, his tenderness turning into coldness.

"Bat, didn't you hear what the lady said?"

She said no.

"Since Harley hates that Joker so much, he must be a complete scumbag, an utterly wicked villain. Right?"

Bruce remained silent.

Although Azu's logic is quite illogical, his conclusion is correct. The clown is indeed a collection of that adjective.

"Look, your expression says it all."

Ah Zu spread his hands, looking as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

"Since he's a perverted scumbag, why should we place our hopes for saving the world on him?"

"This is illogical, and even more so, unjust."

"But without kryptonite, we..." Bruce began.

"No buts!" Azu interrupted Bruce.

"The reason you feel the need for that stone is because you are afraid."

"You're all terrified by that alien imposter."

Azu pointed to himself and smiled confidently.

"But now, I'm here."

"You don't need to go looking for that clown, or that broken stone."

"I'll deal with that imposter."

"I'll show him what true power is!"
