Chapter 197 Something's coming!

VGD Second Experimental Base, Outdoor Testing Field.

"Gravity parameters are stable, and the space anchor point has been locked."

Jane Foster, dressed in a white lab coat, held a data tablet in her hand, her eyes focused intently.

"Interstellar jump experiment, September 24, 2014, the 9th time, the second group."

"This experiment was conducted to test the stability of the connection. No specific coordinates were set. The program was set to randomly capture an active spatial node for connection."

Under her direction, dozens of Water's technicians were busy working around a huge circular device.

"Professor Scharvig, how's the phase reading?" Jane shouted.

Not far away, Professor Eric Scharvig was leaning over a control panel, waving his hands excitedly.

Since being "blessed" by the Mind Scepter during the Battle of New York, the professor's mental state has been on the verge of agitation, but his mind has also become unusually active.

"Perfect! Absolutely perfect, Jane!"

Professor Scharvig was so excited that his face turned red, and he waved the homemade instrument that looked like a detector in his hand.

"With your data from Asgard, the Rosenbridge's theoretical model is finally complete! We no longer need to rely on astronomical phenomena like a planetary alignment; we can create wormholes ourselves! Artificial! Controllable!"

Jane's eyes lit up, then she turned to look at a burly man carrying a heavy lead box.

The man was wearing an ordinary gray work T-shirt, his biceps straining the cuffs, and he was carrying a coolant tank weighing several hundred kilograms, as if it were a bag of cotton.

Saul Odinson.

Formerly Thor, now... a senior laboratory porter.

"Sol, fill tank number 3 with coolant," Jane commanded.

"Understood, boss."

Saul agreed readily. He walked to tank number 3, turned on the valve that required hydraulic pliers to open with one hand, and poured the coolant in with a "glug-glug" sound.

After doing all this, he walked over to Jane, like a golden retriever waiting for praise.

"Is there anything else I can do, Jane?"

"That's all for now. Stand back and don't get exposed to the radiation," Jane said without looking up.

"Radiation can't hurt me, I'm a god." Thor chuckled, but still obediently retreated beyond the safety line.

He looked at Jane with a gaze filled with infatuation, mixed with a hint of disappointment.

Since Jane lifted Mjolnir and became the female Thor, she has become more and more confident and radiant.

Having lost his hammer, he didn't want to admit it, but he did feel... somewhat superfluous.

"Even if I have to be a porter, I'll be the best." Thor clenched his fists and encouraged himself.

"Everyone, evacuate to the cover!"

Jane's voice resounded throughout the venue via the loudspeaker.

"Interstellar jump experiment, first attempt. Ten seconds countdown!"

"10, 9, 8..."

As the countdown progressed, the massive metal ring began to emit a deep hum.

Blue arcs of electricity leaped at the center of the ring.

"...3, 2, 1! Start!"

Professor Scharvig pressed the red start button.

"Buzz—!!!"

A deafening roar erupted, as if space itself were groaning.

A massive beam of energy was injected into the ring, and the air at the center of the ring began to twist violently, instantly forming a hexagonal honeycomb-shaped light curtain.

That's the jump point.

A gateway connecting to unknown coordinates in the universe.

"Energy output is stable! Spatial curvature is increasing!" Jane shouted, staring at the data. "50%...70%...90%!"

"boom--!"

At the center of the circular installation, space seemed to be torn apart by an invisible giant hand.

A black vortex about five meters in diameter appeared out of thin air.

"Data normal! Space channel stable!" Professor Scharvig shouted. "We did it! We opened the door!"

"Wait a minute..." Jane suddenly frowned. "Something seems... off."

"What's wrong?" Thor approached warily.

"This door... seems to be 'two-way'." Saviorg's expression changed. "It... it's overlapping with a spatial coordinate that's moving at high speed!"

"Overlap?" Jane paused, taken aback. "You mean, someone is using this jump point?"

"Look here...something's coming!" Professor Scharvig shouted anxiously, staring at the energy monitoring display. "It's making continuous jumps!"

"Turn it off! Turn off the jump point now!" Jane shouted.

"It's too late!"

"Bang--!!!"

The hexagonal light curtain suddenly expanded outward, like a balloon being burst.

Immediately afterwards, a small, oddly shaped spaceship, covered in patches and charred marks, crashed out of the light screen in a sorry state.

The spaceship tumbled and bounced on the ground, its engines spewing intermittent sparks. It finally skimmed the ground for more than ten meters, knocking over a bunch of instruments, before coming to a stop amidst a cloud of dust.

The dust has settled.

The spaceship was emitting black smoke and making a hissing sound as it cooled down.

"That's... an alien spaceship?" Professor Saviger examined it closely, already quite used to alien spaceships.

"They don't look like a regular army," Thor concluded. "The style of this ship... is a bit like a raider."

Without the slightest hesitation, Jane stretched out her right hand and grabbed at the air.

"Mjolnir!"

Thor's hammer, which was originally hanging on the laboratory shelf, sensed the summons and instantly flew through the air, landing steadily in her palm.

"Boom!"

Thunder roared, and her entire body was covered in gleaming silver Asgardian armor, her red cloak billowing in the wind.

Jane Foster, the female Thor, makes her appearance.

Meanwhile, Thor glanced at his imposing girlfriend, then at his empty hands.

He looked around and finally picked up a 300-gauge industrial wrench.

He rushed to Jane's side immediately and shielded her behind him.

"Stand behind me, Jane!"

"Get out of my way, you idiot!" Jian Yi shoved him aside with a hammer. "Watch yourself!"

Just then, the dilapidated spaceship hatch emitted a metallic twisting sound.

"Clang!"

The hatch was kicked open from the inside.

Immediately afterwards, three figures stumbled out of the smoke.

Leading the way was a guy with completely blue skin. He wore a dark red long trench coat and had a metal fin on his head that looked like a red rooster's comb.

"vomit--!"

He held his knees and vomited a colorful liquid all over the floor.

Beside him, there was a raccoon walking upright.

The raccoon was wearing a tactical vest and carrying an energy gun bigger than its body. It was shaking its head and cursing under its breath.

"Oh, shit..."

"That's a fucking lousy idea! 700 jumps?! My nipples are going to stretch all the way to my knees!"
