Cultivators at the Wizarding Academy
Chapter 2 Dormitory and Neighbors
Chapter 2 Dormitory and Neighbors
"And you, little girl."
The three-eyed raven pecked at the silver-haired loli's white leather boots.
Yinyue awkwardly scratched her beautiful long hair, glancing back every now and then as a golden light streaked across her back in a beautiful parabola.
The three-eyed crow spread its wings and flew into the sky, its sharp claws firmly gripping Jinlong.
"Very good, children, your efforts will be rewarded even more. Let me take you to your dormitories first."
The two followed the Three-Eyed Raven into the Wizarding House.
The moment I stepped through the gate, the bright sunlight overhead dimmed.
A chilling atmosphere permeated the air, as if one had entered the underworld.
The twisted locust trees are part of the roadside greenery.
On either side of the dark red welcoming carpet stood rows of skeletal guards, equipped with finely crafted black heavy armor and wielding round shields and spears.
Ghosts of various shapes float in the sky, chasing and playing around without restraint.
The founder of the Wizarding Academy, Hegel, was a powerful necromancer, and the academy he founded was naturally a paradise for the undead and other undead creatures.
"No wonder, the Mage Division is in the center of the academy, while the Wizard Division is in the most remote corner," Taian thought to himself.
A pulling force came from behind the wizard's robe.
The boy turned his head, asking in a puzzled tone, "What is it?"
"You...you..." The silver-haired loli's body and teeth were trembling. "Aren't you scared?"
"I'm a boy, why should I be afraid?" Taian retorted, firmly grabbing the little girl's wrist and pulling her hand away. "Alright! We're going to separate soon, stop clinging to me."
Even with tears welling up in the little girl's eyes, the boy remained unmoved.
After all, he's not yet at the age where he can be tender and gentle with women.
"Damn it, we're all the same age." The silver-haired loli felt resentful, but she forced herself not to show any fear.
The ghosts hovering in the sky emitted shrill cries. Legend has it that the voices of ghosts can evoke all sorts of negative emotions and unpleasant memories in humans, and only those with strong willpower can remain unaffected.
"Don't be afraid, children...you are wizards, be brave!" Gargamel the Three-Eyed Raven cawed, and the various ghosts that had gathered scattered.
Continuing onward, we circled around to the back of the obelisk building, where we saw a series of detached dormitory buildings, each surrounded by a black iron fence.
"You guys have great taste. Our Wizarding Division has the best benefits. Everyone can live in a building, no need to fight for it." The three-eyed raven circling overhead didn't forget to boast about the perks.
Spellcasters, being few in number, have always been the beneficiaries of the state's preferential treatment. Even a commoner, once awakening their spellcasting talent, can directly become an honorary noble.
"Just as I expected." The boy, hidden in the shadows, smiled slightly.
Just imagining the scene of eight people sharing a dormitory in the Warrior Division makes one feel utterly hopeless. Even in the better-off Knight Division and Spellsword Division, four people still share a room, which is nothing compared to the generous treatment of spellcasters.
"Caw caw, kids! What are your dormitory key numbers?" The cawing of the three-eyed crow interrupted Tai'an's thoughts.
"Pale Courtyard No. 16." The silver-haired loli held up the key.
"Pale Courtyard No. 17." Tai'an's heart skipped a beat. Only now did he realize that the two of them were bound to become neighbors.
The dormitory keys will definitely be issued sequentially by the Discipline Inspection Office, not skipping any steps. Two people who arrive at almost the same time will have the same dormitory number.
A strange smile appeared on the silver-haired loli's face: "What a coincidence! Don't you think..."
An air raid siren rang in the boy's mind, his big, clear eyes widened, and his expression froze.
Damn it, I forgot to check the almanac before I went out today…
Realizing he had gotten himself into serious trouble, Tai'an was deeply disturbed.
If all else fails, he can only reluctantly play the role of a strange uncle and help the little girl learn a lesson.
Don't always hang out with strange men.
The dormitory key needs to be inserted into the corresponding stone carving at the entrance. Unauthorized entry will activate the ghost security system.
"Lord Gargamel, may I ask if my servant may stay here?" Taian inquired.
"Of course! How could a noble spellcaster possibly provide for their own basic needs like food, clothing, and shelter..."
When school starts, the daily chimes of the spire signal class time. All new students will gather at the entrance of the Wizarding Tower for entrance tests and to choose their tutors.
The three-eyed raven flapped its wings and flew into the sky, disappearing into the black smoke.
Tai'an and Yinyue exchanged glances. Whether they were happy or not, they would inevitably have frequent contact as neighbors over the next six years.
"Come to my house tonight! I'll treat you to something delicious..." The silver-haired loli forced a flattering smile.
"No need." The boy maintained his aloof and unapproachable demeanor.
The gate was gently pushed open, and the steel creaked as it rubbed together.
The courtyard is quite large.
The detached dormitory building has three floors in total, with each floor measuring at least 70 or 80 square meters, and the top floor has a glass skylight. Unfortunately, you can't see the sunlight or the starry sky.
The entire Wizarding Division was covered by the Dark Zone.
Within the realm, gray-white clouds shroud the area day and night, allowing ghosts and undead creatures to move freely without needing to slumber underground.
It is so unfriendly to students that it seriously affects the number of students admitted each year.
Most spellcasters who yearn for a normal life will choose a branch of the mage academy with a beautiful environment.
"It's so quiet, but going out might be a bit inconvenient..."
Tai'an checked each room to confirm the water source and the operation of the inscription array.
I placed my palm on the magic stone and channeled some magic energy into it. After waiting a moment, I tried turning on the magic lamp switch, and the dim room was filled with dazzling light.
In terms of lifestyle, spellcasters are a generation ahead of ordinary people, and their daily lives are almost identical to those of modern times. Magic energy has replaced the role of electricity, providing great convenience.
However, it lacks widespread adoption.
Only those with the ability to cast spells can replenish the magical energy of the magic stones. This grants spellcasters a high social status. Working just a few days a month is enough to ensure a decent standard of living.
