Harry Potter, the savior of Night City
Chapter 75 The Unexpected Turn of Events for the Bomber Squad
"Wood, get ready, throw!"
Professor McGonagall was directing the Quidditch players in the sky from the center of the Quidditch pitch. Each of them was enchanted with an Ironclad Charm and wore a belt around their waist with many small bottles hanging from it.
"projection!"
Wood shouted, and then all the Quidditch players in unison took a bottle from their waistbands and threw it at the marked spot on the ground. The moment the bottle hit the ground, the loud explosion instantly drowned out all other sounds in the stadium.
The idea came to Nick when Dumbledore, Harry, and Nick were discussing ways to improve Hogwarts' mobile defense capabilities. Nick thought of the bombers he had seen on Muggle television and suddenly had an idea. Dumbledore also thought it was feasible, so they put it into practice immediately. Harry found Seamus Finnigan that same day and also found the Weasley twins. With Professor Snape providing the raw materials and guidance, they spent two weeks developing a magical version of the projectile.
With the bombs secured, the next step was the planes, but those were tricky to acquire. After rigorous deliberation, Dumbledore decided to request Nick Flamel to engrave the Ironclad Charm on every Quidditch uniform. The school would then fund the purchase of a batch of Nimbus 2000s and re-enchant every broomstick. Finally, tempted by the Nimbus 2000s, the expansion of the Quidditch training grounds, and the promise of exclusive, year-round use (Hufflepuff stated that exclusive use of the Quidditch training grounds was acceptable and requested that the menu be changed to Eastern cuisine, which Dumbledore readily agreed to and completed that same day), all the Quidditch captains and players agreed to become human bombers, with Professor McGonagall serving as their trainer.
Riddle naturally noticed the commotion and considered this human bomber his greatest threat, trying his best to defend against it. But in reality, this thing wasn't designed to deal with him at all...
Professor Sprout enclosed the school by planting man-eating cabbage, poison tentacles, and more man-eating cabbage around its perimeter. These plants could deter attacks to a certain extent, but only to a certain degree. Although Lockhart had absolutely no common sense, the danger was still evident.
Even with the school under such strict lockdown, some things that shouldn't have happened still occurred.
That day, Harry, having nothing better to do, was dragged by Ron to watch the Hogwarts Bombers practice their bombing drills. He didn't want to come, but Dumbledore, seeing that Harry had the special ability to fight Lockhart, didn't require him to practice bombing, letting him hone his skills so he could deliver a crucial blow to Lockhart later. But today, some mysterious force within Harry urged him to go to the Quidditch pitch, so he went anyway (leaving only the final struggle of a timeline where the beginning and end weren't messed up).
"Wow, it's much more powerful than before." Harry exclaimed as he watched the projectile being thrown. Professor McGonagall had fully unleashed Seamus Finnigan's potential. Professor Snape personally guided him on which materials could cause maximum damage. Although he was only a second-year student and didn't even recognize some of the materials, he could always find the most suitable material for the explosion, even under Professor Snape's astonished gaze.
"Ugh. I don't know why, but the school has become so strict, and the spells are so difficult." Ron complained to Harry, saying that it was exhausting. He just wanted to laze around like a first-year student, but the professors' assessment system and Dumbledore's frequent checks forced him to study, which meant that his current level was almost the same as that of a fourth-year student at Hogwarts.
Harry just smiled, a look of desolation in his eyes. Damn it, that old man's magical training was even more ruthless to him. Ever since he was confirmed to be 17, Severus had dumped all sorts of dark magic on him. Sculpting and enchanting were personally instructed by Nicolas Flamel. Heaven knows how angry the machine spirit inside Nick was when he was sculpting on Harry's prosthetic body. It was just short of jumping out and slashing Nick.
"Harry, the trajectory of that bomb seems to have missed its mark?" Ron shook Harry's shoulder, pulling him out of his reverie, and pointed to a bomb dropped by the bomber squadron.
Harry's Crossroads was magnified, and it was indeed thrown off course; the angle of that throw was about 30 degrees off compared to the others.
"Evan, why is your shooting angle so off?" Before Professor McGonagall could point out the problem, Flint scolded the teammate first.
"But I... I didn't..."
"Don't try to argue with me! We'll practice it again later." Flint ignored his teammate's explanations and issued an ultimatum.
"But I didn't miss..." Evan himself felt very strange. Why was this happening? The projectile inexplicably veered to one side in mid-air, and he had no idea what was going on.
Harry's side didn't take it seriously either.
"I guess he's been too tired from practice lately, so it's normal for him to make a mistake like this," Harry said. He thought it was quite normal; with such a heavy training load, it's not surprising that he would slack off and throw the wrong ball.
"Harry, I think this time it didn't miss..." Ron asked, looking at the trajectory of the grenade. "This thing... it seems like it's flying towards us..."
"How is that possible? It's so far away from us..." Harry looked up and saw a brown bomb flying towards them.
"Holy shit!" Harry didn't say much. He activated Sionstein, grabbed Ron, and quickly ran to the side until they were out of the blast radius.
The bomb exploded where they had been standing, and the intense heat burned Harry's face.
"Someone's here..." Harry sensed something was wrong and was about to say something when Ron suddenly yanked his arm and pulled him away to the other side.
"Here comes Harry again!" Ron shouted. Harry turned to look at the incoming bomb. The Curious Case Files switched back to its Investigating Magic Circuit mode. Sure enough, a blue magic circuit connected behind the bomb, leading all the way to the stairwell of the highest spectator stands in the Quidditch stadium.
"Damn it, I'm going to see who did this." Harry told Ron to inform Professor McGonagall, while he activated the S.A.S ...
Inside the stairwell, a house-elf was controlling a projectile to throw at Harry, but suddenly realized that Harry was gone, leaving only a green shadow moving quickly on the ground. In the blink of an eye, it was already at the bottom of the stairwell.
"not good!"
The house-elf ran to the center, where there was a ventilation window leading outside. If he jumped out from there, he could Apparate away from here.
It made up its mind, and as soon as it took a step, it felt its whole body fly into the sky.
Harry turned his benevolent face toward the house-elf, Yinglong's gun was pointed at the elf's head, and Golden Hand held the elf by the scruff of its neck, making it completely unable to escape.
"Where do you want to go?"
