Harry Potter, the savior of Night City

Chapter 68 The Mad Lockhart

"A half-blood prince?"

In the dormitory, Harry was looking through the book Snape had given him. It looked like a tattered potions book, the kind that you only use in sixth grade. Snape had crossed out and blacked out the signature on the book, but not completely. There was still the word "Half-Blood Prince" on the page that hadn't been crossed out.

"Snape's self-chosen name during his chuunibyou phase? It's alright, why cross it out?" Harry commented on the name Snape gave him during his chuunibyou phase, but he was completely unaware that he was also in his chuunibyou phase, and he never thought about whether he could survive his chuunibyou phase in Night City.

"Let me see..." Harry casually flipped to a page, which was covered with notes and annotations. Every potion tutorial was marked with his insights and the errors in the book. There were even spells that Snape had invented after making his own corrections.

"Shadowless Blade?" Harry looked at the spell that Snape had revised many times. Below the spell, there was a note that it was for use against enemies, so it seemed to be an offensive spell. He just didn't know how effective it would be.

"Try contacting Lockhart tomorrow."

......

"Lockhart... and that green shadow that moved her..."

Beside Serena's bed, Riddle was receiving memories from Serena, who was lying on the bed.

"Is he also a guy blessed by God?" Riddle sat on the bedside table, carefully observing the image of Lockhart that came to him from his memory.

"Although I don't know whose follower he is, his abilities might interfere with my plans..." Riddle turned his emotionless eyes to Serena on the bed.

"My dear sister, I'll send you to scout ahead for your brother Riddle..."

......

"Oh dear, here's the next one." Lockhart looked at what the owl had brought him, completely unsuspecting, after all, he had no idea how many gifts he would receive from fans every morning.

Lockhart picked up the gift box, grabbed the ribbon on it, and pulled...

"boom!"

The grenade Harry had placed in the gift box exploded instantly, blasting Lockhart to pieces, but then he miraculously regenerated in the smoke.

"Oh dear, is this a prank?" Lockhart's smile remained unchanged. Ever since he learned that he was now "immortal," he had lost the proper reverence for death.

"Don't let me find you~" Lockhart laughed disgustingly, his body contorted into an unbelievable arc, unaware that his body structure had changed.

"Professor Lockhart..."

A weak voice came from outside the door. Serena, who was being controlled, stood there holding a picture of Lockhart in her hand, pretending to be a fan of Lockhart and asking him for an autograph.

"Oh, Serena, right?" Lockhart beamed. Finally, the first target he could turn into a follower of the Mother Goddess had appeared. Once he had the first one, there would only be more and more, and in this way, the Mother Goddess would value him more and more!

Thinking this, Lockhart welcomed Serena into his office. "A night stroll isn't something a child should do... Serena..."

"Professor, I know I was wrong..." Serena said, her head bowed as she was being controlled.

"It's alright, you should correct your mistakes." Lockhart smiled, the desire in his eyes growing stronger. "However, you still have to accept punishment."

Seeing the little girl tremble slightly, he became even more excited, wanting to dance. He reached out and touched Serena's cheek, trying to infuse her with a touch of pink, but he just couldn't get it into her soul.

Lockhart didn't care about anything else; once he was trained, she would still be his plaything and a follower of the Mother Goddess.

Thinking this, Lockhart reached for Serena's clothes and took off her wizard robe. The controlled Serena stared at Lockhart, wondering what he was going to do.

"Gidero Lockhart!!!"

A shout interrupted Lockhart's actions. He and Serena turned to look at the door, where they saw Professor Flitwick with his book lying on the ground, wand clutched in his hand, his eyes filled with anger and disbelief.

"What do you think you're doing to this child?!" Professor Flitwick shouted, casting a binding spell at Lockhart. "Child, get out of the way!"

Riddle, who was controlling Serena, saw that he could now see what abilities Lockhart's god had given him, and the effects were even better. He quickly ran behind Professor Flitwick.

"Oh dear, you little dwarf, this won't do!" Lockhart said, flicking his wand. A pink light barrier rose up, blocking Flitwick's binding spell.

"Damn it, you're a beast! You even lay hands on a child!" Professor Flitwick shouted angrily, hurling a variety of spells at Lockhart—cutting spells, freezing spells, blasting spells—each launched from a tricky angle. Lockhart stood there smiling, showing no sign of tension whatsoever. Even as the barrier shattered and spells rained down on him, he didn't flinch.

"Old man, you're still no good~" Lockhart's body, which had been cut into pieces, was pieced back together and restored. He looked at Professor Flitwick with a mocking expression, endured another Severing Charm, and his body, which had been cut in half at the waist, was restored. Then, he flicked his hand and cast "Whispers of the Mother Goddess" on Professor Flitwick.

Professor Flitwick constructed three layers of armor in front of him, but the Mother Goddess's whispers were designed for the mind, and these armors passed right through them as if they didn't exist. Professor Flitwick reacted quickly and dodged, but the thing was still tracking him and eventually struck him.

"No!" This thought flashed through Professor Flitwick's mind, but it was then overwhelmed by a surge of evil thoughts. Evil ideas kept emerging from his mind, and pinkish hues kept emanating from his body.

"Tsk, how come the first believer to be offered to the Mother Goddess is an old dwarf?" Lockhart was very dissatisfied. In his mind, he had already equated Flitwick with the future believer of the Mother Goddess. He believed that it would be best to offer those children with pure souls and kind hearts to the Mother Goddess after they had fallen, but the current situation made him very dissatisfied.

"Damn it!" Professor Flitwick's will was very firm. In addition, Lockhart was only a believer and not God's chosen one, so the corruption process was relatively long. Not to mention that Professor Flitwick was a master. This short period of time was enough for Professor Flitwick to open the Occlumency and temporarily restore his clarity.

While Lockhart was still dissatisfied with his work, Professor Flitwick acted decisively, immediately releasing his Patronus to inform the other professors. To cover for his Patronus, he cast a spell on Lockhart again.

Lockhart disdainfully withstood the spell with his body. The power given to him by the gods made it difficult for control spells to work on him, and offensive spells couldn't kill him.

"Still don't understand?" Lockhart used his bestowed Transfiguration to transform the floor beneath Flitwick's feet into spikes, instantly pressing them against Flitwick's neck as he struggled with the whispers of the Mother Goddess. He was trapped in this cage of spikes, with only his head visible. "I am immortal! I am invincible!!"

He pressed his wand against Professor Flitwick's forehead, his body contorting into a shape no normal person could achieve. "Mother Goddess..."

"Extremely painful!"
