Harry Potter, the savior of Night City
Chapter 57 The Weasleys
Today was the day Ron said they would go book shopping together. After Harry got dressed, he went downstairs to the lobby to wait, and had breakfast at Tom's place.
"Hey! Harry!"
As Harry was enjoying his grilled sausage, a familiar voice came from the fireplace. It was Ron's whole family: the Weasleys, the Weasley twins, Percy, Ginny, Ron, and the redheads, all coming out one after another and crowding Tom's largest table on the first floor.
Harry was very interested in the way the family made their entrance, which was much more convenient than traveling by car. Just as he was about to ask, Mrs. Ron, Madam Molly, spoke first.
"Oh, I'm so glad to see you, dear Harry." The plump, kind woman walked up to Harry and patted his head. Now Harry was certain that this was indeed a gentle and talkative old woman, just like Mrs. Wells. "We've arrived a little early. Look at you, you haven't eaten yet, you've gotten so thin."
"Harry!" Ron sat down next to Harry and started telling him about his holiday antics. "Oh, it's such a shame you can't come to my house. My dad drives a Muggle car..."
"Ron!"
"I'm sorry," Ron quickly apologized to Mrs. Weasley.
"Harry, you should buy Lockhart's book too, right?" Fred asked, leaning close to Harry knowing the answer already.
"Yes, I'm starting to wonder if this Lockhart is some kind of Mewtwo star, how come there are so many of his books."
"Although I don't understand what you mean by Mewtwo, he is indeed a celebrity," George chimed in.
"All five of them need Lockhart's complete set of books, and his set isn't cheap," Fred said, sitting in the chair next to Harry.
"Don't worry, children, we'll find a way," Mrs. Weasley reassured her children, but the worry on her face didn't lessen at all. "I think we can let Ginny use the secondhand items for now."
"Ginny?" Harry put down the sausage on his fork and turned to look at Mrs. Weasley. A little red-haired girl was hiding behind Mrs. Weasley. She glanced at Harry with a flushed face and then quickly lowered her head.
Harry remembered—the little girl standing next to Mrs. Weasley on the first day of school; she was going to school this year too.
"You're going to school too?" Harry put on a smile that he thought wasn't so roguish, but it was still... kind of menacing, though Ginny blushed and kept her head down the whole time and didn't see it.
"Um..."
The little girl was quite shy.
Harry didn't ask any more questions and turned back to continue eating his sausage.
"Harry!"
It was that familiar, surprised voice again. Harry and the others turned around and, sure enough, it was Hermione, along with her parents.
Hermione didn't seem to have changed much, if you ignored the increasingly prominent twin serpent staffs in her eyes.
"Ah! You're Muggles!" Mr. Weasley exclaimed excitedly, pointing at Mr. Granger, and went over to talk to the Weasleys.
After a short while, once everyone was ready, they were going to Gringotts to collect their money. Harry and Ron's family's vault was in one direction, while Hermione and the others were going to exchange money, so they agreed to meet up there.
It was that ugly goblin-driven car again. First, they arrived at the Weasley family's vault. Harry didn't really understand the Weasleys' financial difficulties at first, but when they opened it... there was a small pile of silver siecotes. In the huge vault, there was only one Galleon.
Mrs. Weasley searched every nook and cranny of the vault, leaving no stone unturned, still rummaging through the place, hoping to find another coin.
The goblin grew impatient. Goblins are inherently greedy creatures, and the kind that love to be extremely greedy. They had absolutely no interest in the Weasley family's treasury and even looked down on it.
"Hey, you guys..."
Before the fairy could finish speaking, Harry slammed her against the wall in one swift motion. On his gleaming left hand, blue coolant mixed with magic flowed slowly, and the panels on his arm opened one after another, revealing the hydraulic rods inside.
Harry remained silent, while the eccentrics stared intently at the goblin, increasing the pressure in his hand until the goblin lost consciousness, at which point he released it.
"Cough, cough cough cough..." The fairy fell to the ground and curled up, breathing heavily, looking just like a defeated dog.
Harry covered his golden hand with his robe again and stood silently behind it, watching Mrs. Weasley search the empty vault for every possible coin. Harry wanted to help her, but he felt that Mrs. Weasley would definitely not accept his money. He could only think of a way to secretly place the silver coin in a crack that they could see when they turned their heads or lifted their legs. He couldn't put the gold Galleon in; Mrs. Weasley's Galleons were too few, and if he put one in, it would definitely arouse suspicion.
"Alright, Harry, time to go to your vault."
Mrs. Weasley's worried expression finally eased a bit. She hadn't expected that there would be enough money in the vault to buy each of the children a set of books, and if they were lucky, they wouldn't even need to buy secondhand ones.
Harry silently placed his hand on the goblin's shoulder, and the goblin immediately broke into a bright smile, treating them as if they were wealthy individuals with family coffers.
Harry smiled, all his murderous intent vanished. In Mrs. Weasley's eyes, Harry was now just an obedient, sensible, quiet, kind, and adorable boy.
Harry went to his vault, put the money in, and returned to the ground with the Weasleys.
The goblin who was leading them to the vault broke out in a cold sweat as he watched Harry's retreating figure, and it's said that he had nightmares about it for a long time afterward.
A group of people met up and agreed to go their separate ways to buy the small items they needed first, and then go to the bookstore to buy books an hour later.
First and foremost, the most essential item: three florins of Harry's special ice cream, five scoops sprinkled with crushed nuts. Hermione and Ron looked at the ice cream, which was almost bigger than their heads, and then at the small spoons in their hands, and for a moment they didn't know where to start eating.
Ron coveted the complete Charlie Rocket team uniform in the Quidditch shop, while Hermione was reluctant to part with the expensive alchemical gadgets. In the end, they had no choice but to give up and obediently buy what they actually needed.
An hour later, they walked toward Flourish and Blotts, where a large crowd had gathered in front of the small bookstore, and a large banner was stretched out in the upstairs window:
Guidro Lockhart
Signed autobiography for sale
Me, the One with Magic
......
Harry looked at the book title, then down at the crowd of wizards below, and finally conjured his wand to examine it carefully. After confirming that he really knew magic, he fell silent.
Isn't this book basically equivalent to writing "The Breathing Me"? Are these die-hard fans out of their minds?!
