Harry Potter, the savior of Night City

Chapter 101 Preparations Before the Big Event

"Harry~" Rebecca leaned against Harry, not knowing what she was thinking, deciding to have a drinking contest with him. She was now almost completely drunk. "Keep going...drink!"

"You..." Harry was about to say something when Rebecca had already completely passed out and was lying on top of him. Harry was also quite drunk, and he didn't know what he was thinking. He picked Rebecca up and swayed as he walked towards his car outside.

......

When Harry woke up again, it was the next morning. He opened his eyes and saw Rebecca lying on top of him. He rubbed his head and shook Rebecca awake.

"Huh? Where is this...."

Rebecca's mind was still a little fuzzy, her pinkish-green eyes blinking rapidly, clearly not having reacted yet.

"Are you awake?"

A familiar voice came from inside. Harry turned his head and saw the door open. Jack poked his head into the room, saw Rebecca on top of Harry, and quickly closed the door, apologizing repeatedly.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't know you were handling something. I... I didn't see anything."

"Jack?"

"Harry, where is this?" Rebecca had recovered and sat up from Harry. She didn't ask any unnecessary questions, as she didn't think Harry was the kind of person who would do something reckless while drunk.

"It must be an elder I know." Harry rubbed his head, completely bewildered as to how he got here.

After going downstairs with Rebecca, they saw Mrs. Wells making breakfast. Jack was being held down in a chair, clearly not wanting to stay home. He looked up and saw the two of them coming down, so he reached out to greet them.

"How did you sleep?"

"Aside from a headache, I'm fine." She sat down next to Jack with Rebecca. "How did we get here?"

"Last night, I was just about to go to sleep when there was a loud bang outside the door. When I went out, I saw that your sports car had crashed into the outer wall of my house. You and the girl next to you were both completely drunk. I had no choice but to call Jack to pull you both out."

While busy cooking, Mrs. Wells said, "Drinking so much alcohol, I know you young people want to impress your girlfriends, but you can't drink like this. The worst part is driving after drinking. No wonder Sebastian kicked you out last time."

"Thank you, Mrs. Wells," Harry said to Mrs. Wells.

"Thank you, Mrs. Wells," Rebecca said, thanking Mrs. Wells as well. She was a little unaccustomed to dealing with this kind of motherly elder.

"Alright, sit down and have a good meal. You're all good kids, unlike that rascal Jack, who still hasn't managed to bring one back for me," Mrs. Wells said with a smile, while also complaining about Jack.

"Mom!" Jack said, clearly displeased. "Didn't I show you Misty last time?"

"Don't mention her. Just thinking about her makes me angry. Why did she have to pick such a weirdo?"

......

"My car..." Harry said with heartache as he looked at the thugs' car with its front end completely flattened. It seemed that the only option now was to repair it.

"Looks like you were pretty drunk last night..." Rebecca said, bending over to examine the sports car that was practically a scrap metal. "But..."

Rebecca suddenly leaned close to Harry, recalling how innocent and naive he had been the night before, when she still had memories of him, not having done anything out of line. "I didn't expect a seasoned mercenary like you to be so pure~"

"I'm a gentleman, I don't have that many tricks up my sleeve," Harry said instinctively.

"Pfft." Rebecca laughed out loud. "Alright, gentleman, see you next time."

Call Reminder

【Mann】

[Connected]

"Harry, come on, we need to prepare to kill those blue-eyed guys."

"understood."

[Call ended]

Harry sighed. Time was of the essence. He had already wasted a lot of time by taking a short rest last night. He needed to launch a surprise attack on those blue-eyed people before they knew their hiding place had been found.

With that in mind, Harry hailed a Delaman taxi, since the thugs were still having major repairs at the car repair shop.

"Choose Delaman, and leave your troubles at the door."

......

At the Afterlife Bar, Harry went down to the basement. The security guard was still Emeric, that big guy.

"Golden Hand, go in. Mann and the others are waiting for you." Emeric stepped aside and opened the door for Harry.

Entering the Reincarnation Bar, it was just as familiar as ever: the blue lights, the sex dolls dancing in the water, and the bar where so many legends had sat. But this time, Harry wasn't there to drink. He simply greeted Claire and continued deeper into the bar.

The famous Afterlife Bar used to be a morgue, but now you can't tell at all. Harry walked to the bar's private rooms and immediately saw Mann and his group sitting in the first room, along with another person in yellow clothes whose identity was unclear.

"I'm here." Harry walked into the box, greeted Mann and the others, and casually found a seat. Rebecca stood up and sat down next to him.

Harry looked around and recognized the man in yellow as Roger, the one who had blew up the ruined Sakata with Johnny Silverhand more than fifty years ago and was now the legendary middleman of Night City. Then, glancing to the side, Harry frowned. Why was David still there? But he didn't say anything, waiting to finish his business before discussing it further.

"Now that everyone's here, I'll get straight to the point," Roger said, crossing his legs. "If you want to hire some homeless people to help you with your tasks, I won't make things difficult for you. Do me a favor, and I'll give you Adcardo's contact information."

"Rogge, we're out of time. How about this, we'll buy... we'll buy Adcardo's contact information. Name your price," Mann said to Rogge, clasping his hands together.

"Sorry, I won't sell my contact information," Roger flatly refused. "Since you can't do anything for me, then there's nothing more to discuss."

Roger put his legs down, stood up from the sofa, and walked out of the private room. "Tell me when you've thought it through."

"Bang!"

"Damn it." Mann slammed his fist on the coffee table, denting it. "We're out of time. There's no way we can defeat so many night ghosts with just the few of us."

"What's going on? And what's this newbie doing here?" Harry asked Mann.

"We've already obtained detailed information and details about that research institute from other intermediaries. There are at least eighty Night Wanderers guarding it, not even counting whether those blue-eyed people have hired other bodyguards."

"We can't break in on our own," Qiwei said from the side. "And even if we did manage to break in, we'd basically have no chance of escaping."

A chip was placed in front of Harry. Take a look; this is the deciphered content of the chip obtained during the last 'K' mission.

Harry inserted the chip in front of him into the slot behind his ear, and detailed instructions appeared before his eyes.

"Project Obsidian is Arasaka's anti-Polaris project. They are also looking for the prototype of Polaris. If what those roving AIs say is true, and they want to take advantage of the company's internal strife to seize Polaris, there is a high probability that they will summon these Arasaka Obsidian units to muddy the waters when we attack."

"As for this kid," Mann looked at David, "Seanwistan's role is crucial; he might play a key role, and..."

"And I came here of my own accord," David said, his eyes filled with determination. "I will prove to you that I am not a burden."

Harry sighed and looked at David. "You're a newbie, a complete novice. Why are you getting involved in something so dangerous? Your mother isn't awake yet. Do you want the first thing she sees when she wakes up to be news of your death?"

David shook his head. "I'm being tracked by Arasaka right now. If I go back to my mother now, we might not survive in the end. Besides, if I stay with you guys, Arasaka will focus all his attention on us and won't bother with my mother anymore."

"You're quite filial." Harry nodded, acknowledging David's participation in their dangerous journey.

Actually, there was another reason David didn't mention: if he survived this time, even if Gloria wanted him to go back to Arasaka to study after she woke up, he wouldn't be able to, so Gloria wouldn't have to go to Arasaka to beg for his life again.

"The problem now is, how do we get Adcardo's contact information?" Mann said.

Just as everyone was pondering, a discordant voice came from behind.

"Adcardo's contact information? Gentlemen, I know that."

Everyone turned to look and saw Li Ji, the doorman from the Sixth Street Gang. Now, somehow, he had become a waiter at Laisheng. He was scratching his head, bending over, and smiling obsequiously at everyone.

"It's Uncle Harry! It's my greatest honor to serve you." Li Ji placed the wine tray on the table and greeted Harry.

"You just said you know how to contact Adcardo?"

"Hey, to be honest, when I first arrived in Night City, all my belongings were stolen. I thought about smuggling myself back through the Badlands, but I collapsed from exhaustion on the way and was rescued by Adcardo. That's when I met Adcardo."

Li Ji laughed and said, "If you want their contact information, I have it. I'll get it for you right away. It's free. Consider it as making friends with you all, hehe."

Harry now understood how this young Chinese man had infiltrated the Sixth Street gang; his quick wit and the things he said were quite pleasant to hear.
