Chapter 99 Steve: I don't believe you for a second!
Jon and Steve followed Agent Sam to a place where S.H.I.E.L.D. stored cars.
He looked at the row of Chevrolets in front of him, and his brow twitched involuntarily.
An ominous premonition spread through his heart, completely inexplicable.
"This car is yours, Advisor." Sam handed Jon a key. "Goodbye, I'm going back to playing games."
Good luck to you all, keep it up!
Before they could respond, Sam had already vanished in a flash.
"They're leaving already?" Jon stared at Sam's retreating figure and the keys in his hand, a look of unease on his face. "Captain, what should we do?"
"It's simple," Steve raised an eyebrow, patted the Chevrolet in front of him, "use the key to open the door, get in, start the car, mission accomplished, go home and sleep."
"That's not what I meant." Jon shook his keys, looking troubled. "I meant, what do we do about this?"
Upon hearing this, Steve looked at him in surprise, clearly having misunderstood.
"How old are you? In your early twenties? Don't you have a driver's license, or are you afraid to drive?"
"I just turned eighteen a couple of days ago." Jon lit a cigarette and asked curiously, "Captain, why are you asking this?"
"Your accent sounds familiar." Steve wasn't in a hurry to go on a mission.
"Oh, this," Jon said with a smile, lighting a cigarette. "I'm from Brooklyn too."
"That's right. Don't be afraid of accidents. I was driving when I was your age. Trust me, driving isn't that scary."
"Uh...it's not because of that, well, anyway," Jon hesitated, then concluded, "it's because of a rumor..."
"Get in, kid, enough nagging." Steve said, already seated in the passenger seat. "I trust you."
"You believe me? I hope you won't regret it."
Jon opened his mouth, but ultimately gritted his teeth and got into the driver's seat.
He inserted the key, and as the engine roared to life, he turned to Steve again and said earnestly, "It's not too late to back out now, Captain. Letting me drive wasn't a wise choice."
"I can't be this old fogey driving it, can I?" Steve chuckled, patting him on the shoulder reassuringly. "Don't worry, drive it. This car's fine, trust me."
Upon hearing this, Jon's eyes suddenly lit up with excitement, clearly showing that he had been faking it all along.
"Captain, you said it yourself! That's the first time in a long time that you've let me touch the steering wheel! You can't go back on your word."
With a click, the seatbelts were fastened on the two of them, and Jon's excitement was no longer concealed.
"To be honest, Coulson never lets me touch the car, Captain."
"Hmm?" Steve's super-soldier instincts made him uneasy, and he quickly asked, "What do you mean by that?"
"It means—" Jon gripped the steering wheel tightly and slammed on the gas, "Hold on tight, Captain!"
With perfect coordination of the clutch and accelerator, the vehicle instantly enters its limit, a launch start that only top racing drivers can achieve!
Unbelievable! Jon Snow, who rarely drives, actually pulled off this incredibly difficult maneuver!
God!
Feeling the vehicle shudder, Steve reflexively grabbed the handle, feeling nervous for the first time in his life.
I wasn't as nervous as I am now when I was building troop carriers and countless bullets were flying overhead!
"I've made a fool of myself!" Jon shouted, releasing the brakes.
next second!
boom!
The engine exploded under extreme conditions, and the Chevrolet's hood was blown off.
"Holy crap! My God, this is truly a ghost!"
In his nervousness, Steve actually pulled the car door handle off.
"Heh...heh..." Jon chuckled, looking at the smoking engine with an embarrassed expression. "An accident, purely an accident, do you believe me?"
"Believe? Believe my ass!" Steve stared at the doorknob in his hand and cursed again. "Now I completely understand why nobody lets you drive."
"Listen to me, kid, if this were 1945," he said through gritted teeth, "I would have kicked you off the train long ago."
"Who kicks whom is still up in the air," Jon muttered defiantly.
"What did you say?" Steve's expression hardened, becoming extremely serious. "Hmm?"
"Nothing, I didn't say anything."
"I'll drive," Steve said, looking at him with an air of helplessness. "Let's switch cars."
.
"I should also look for the user manual; I need to learn it. Sigh."
And so, amidst Jon's awkward laughter, Steve found the car's instruction manual.
A moment later, a Chevrolet sped along a road in the Norwegian forest.
Jon sat calmly smoking in the passenger seat, while Steve was driving while looking at the instruction manual.
As the first super soldier in history, he possesses unparalleled reaction and learning abilities.
Thanks to these two skills, Captain America is invincible on the battlefield, possessing top-notch tactical and strategic combat capabilities.
But he never imagined that one day he would use these two skills to learn how to drive a modern vehicle.
"Easy." Steve casually tossed the instruction manual onto the back seat. "Not much different from before, I've got it."
"Then...can I take a break?" Jon suggested, unwilling to give up, "Just for a little while?"
"Don't even think about it!" Steve glared at him sternly. "Especially the steering wheel, absolutely no touching it, and never again."
Actually, before even arriving at the garage, Steve had specifically asked Fury for Jon's information.
The information clearly lists Jon's skills and abilities, stating:
Iron ball technique, Ripple energy, Stand ability, vampire bloodline... and a bright red label that identifies him as a vehicle killer.
At first, Steve thought it referred to Jon's skill in dealing with enemy vehicles, hence the nickname "vehicle killer."
But it wasn't until that explosion that he understood the true meaning of this skill.
Good grief, so this guy indiscriminately destroys any vehicle he's in, hence the name "vehicle killer."
Good heavens!!!
"I just realized that if you live long enough, you can see all sorts of things," Steve muttered to himself, adding, "Maybe one day I'll even meet Gandalf."
"Gandalf?" Jon's eyes lit up as he suddenly remembered something.
He immediately took out his phone and searched for photos of Magneto to compare with photos of Gandalf, and the result made his eyes widen.
The actor playing Magneto in this world looks exactly like Gandalf from Lord of the Rings—exactly the same!
Was it a coincidence? Jon kept this question to himself, planning to ask a certain bald, braised-egg professor another day.
However, Jon felt it was almost certain; the movie must be related to Professor X, and he wouldn't believe it wasn't!
"Let's not talk about that now," Steve interrupted his thoughts. "What are your thoughts on this mission?"
"Opinion?" Jon shrugged, saying flippantly, "It's nothing more than Inhumans or mutants. We have law enforcement power, so we should..."
Before he could finish speaking, Jon's eyebrows suddenly twitched violently—a peculiar sign of danger for him.
It was that strange yet accurate intuition!
Sensing something was wrong, he looked up abruptly and said, "Something's not right, Captain! This isn't simple. My gut feeling's warning me! This isn't good!"
