American comic: I, JoJo, am going to heaven!

Chapter 27 The Great Transformation

"It's just a minor scrape."

Tony casually tugged at his collar.

"Is that so?" Jon pulled open his collar, golden electricity crackling at his fingertips.

Ripple energy flowed into Tony's body through his fingertips, providing Jon with feedback on Tony's physical condition.

"Hey!" Rhodes couldn't sit still any longer and yelled at Jon, who didn't look like a nice guy, "What are you doing?!"

"Relax, Rhode," Tony waved weakly. "You should be fine."

"You're in serious trouble, Tony," Jon announced calmly. "72% of your system is contaminated with harmful substances... In other words, Tony, you're going to die."

"What?!" Rod grabbed Tony's shoulder abruptly. "Is he telling the truth? Tony! Look at me! Tell me he's talking nonsense!"

Tony's expression kept changing, and after a long silence, he finally spoke:

"Guys, if this were your last birthday, how would you spend it?"

Does Pepper know about this?

But those words directly provoked Tony.

Tony abruptly slapped his hand away, his voice suddenly rising in pitch:

"Don't tell Pepper! Absolutely don't tell her!"

He struggled to his feet, gripping Jon's shoulders tightly with both hands, his eyes filled with an unprecedented pleading.

"Promise me, Jon."

Jon lowered his head and remained silent for a while. When he looked up again, he had already come up with a solution.

He glanced at Tony, whose face was ashen, then at Rhodes, who looked completely lost, and said:

"I've got an idea. I'll consider it a birthday present."

"That's impossible, so I've tried everything."

Tony forced a smile.

"You might as well perform a magic trick to cheer me up."

"Sure." Jon grabbed Tony and shoved him into a chair. "Have you ever heard of the magic of making people disappear?"

"Whoa! Hey! Put me down!" Tony waved his arms frantically. "Kid! I'm your elder!"

"Really?" Jon glanced at him. "Does Pepper know?"

"Uh... never mind."

Upon hearing this, Tony was speechless.

Actually, Jon had long thought that Tony and Pepper should have gotten married by now.

But who would have thought that he would find out after he made some inquiries himself?

This playboy turned into an emotional ostrich after meeting his true love.

Upon seeing this, Jon Snow gave a faint smile.

Seeing this, Tony, enraged, straightened his collar and said, "Kid, stop talking nonsense. If you're so capable, just make me disappear."

"This magic trick is quite different." Jon turned to Rhodes. "Mr. James, could you get me two cups?"

"Just call me Rod." Rod deftly took two glasses from the liquor cabinet and placed them in front of Jon.

Meeting their gazes, Jon suddenly grabbed Tony's hand and said:

"Gentlemen, now is the moment of witnessing a miracle."

Seeing this, Tony alertly tried to pull his hand back, muttering something incoherently:

"Hey kid, the only person who can hold this hand is a supermodel or a cover girl. While you are indeed beautiful, but—ouch!!"

Tony let out a howl and immediately gasped.

"Shut up, Tony." Jon gripped Tony's wrist tightly and wouldn't let go.

Just as Tony was rambling on, Jon's long fingernail had already scratched Tony's finger.

A drop of blood fell into the cup.

"Damn it! This is illegal—oh!"

"Ripple Dash!"

A dazzling golden bolt of lightning, accompanied by a surge of energy, traveled into Tony's body.

"Holy shit..." Tony's eyes widened.

Feeling the warm energy emanating from his fingertips, Tony's struggles lessened.

Even Rhodes, who was about to rush forward, froze in place.

Because that energy was so comfortable, like sunlight, both scorching and gentle.

Tony's face was bathed in the rippling golden light. After a moment, he murmured a sentence to himself:

"It felt as peaceful as if I were naked on a Mississippi beach in December, sleeping in Pepper's arms."

"Hmph." Jon snorted coldly.

The next second, the droplet of blood on Tony's fingertip suddenly turned into a spurt of blood.

The murky liquid in the cup was rising rapidly at a speed visible to the naked eye.

"WTF!" Tony was about to curse when he felt the weariness deep in his soul rapidly disappearing.

"Huh???"

"Is this... normal?" Rod asked, staring at the murky blood in the glass.

"It's just heavy metal poisoning, and my blood sugar is a bit high too. Hmm... it also seems a bit thick."

Jon Snow quickly identified the problem by sniffing the air.

"But these are minor issues. The key problem is that the toxins have already been forced out by the ripples."

"Really?" Rod leaned closer to the glass and then suddenly leaned back. "It smells like a rotten battery."

"That's right."

When the lightning dissipated, Jon released his grip.

Two glasses of disgusting, murky liquid were displayed in front of the group.

"How was it?" He tapped the rim of his glass. "Did this 'magic trick' bring you back to life?"

Tony twirled his nimble wrist, raised an eyebrow, and smirked, saying:

"Mr. Magician, would you like to consider working for Stark Industries? You name your salary."

After saying that, Tony suddenly stood up, his eyes shining brightly.

"Rhodes! I can now date all the cover girls of a whole magazine of quotes in one go, wow!!!"

"Great, Tony!" Rod grinned, his face crinkling with laughter. He opened his arms wide and said, "Come here, you bastard!"

"That's so cheesy, Rhodes," Tony said, but gave his best friend a big bear hug.

Seeing Tony's expression, Rod was genuinely happy for him.

God knows how much Tony has endured these past few months.

The military's pressure, the board's difficulties, and the media's ridicule are all less important than this hug at this moment.

"Hey kid, we need one too!"

After releasing Rhodes, Tony turned and lunged at Jon.

"Stop, Tony." Jon raised his fist and shook it. "I need to save my embrace for my future wife."

"Kid." Tony's fist collided with his, and he stammered, "Seriously, I really... never mind."

"Damn it!"

Tony gave Jon's shoulder a good squeeze. "I mean, thank you, Jon."

"Just call me JOJO, that's what my friends call me."

"JOJO?" Tony's eyes flickered a few times, then he immediately put on a nonchalant expression. "Never mind, 'kid' sounds better."

Jon suddenly understood that look in his eyes.

Now that Tony has found hope in living, he is finally ready to confront his own heart.

He looked Tony up and down before finally saying, "Be nice to my aunt."

"Don't worry," Tony replied so softly it was almost inaudible.

The crisp sound of a bottle being opened rang out beside the two of them.

"Hey, I think we should celebrate."

By this time, Rod had already returned from the cellar carrying champagne and glasses.

"Rhodes..." Tony teased, "You're still wearing your uniform. Do you remember what you said before?"

"Enough with the chit-chat." Rhodes didn't waste any more words, stripping his upper body completely naked. "Can we drink now?"

"To be honest, I think this bottle of wine is quite old."

"Rhodes, I have to remind you," Tony said, looking at Jon meaningfully, "there's a young man here."

Upon hearing this, Jon helplessly shrugged: "Do you need me to close my eyes?"

"Hey, just kidding." Tony laughed and walked over, handing him a glass of wine.

Jon took the glass, slightly stunned, a hint of shame flashing in his eyes.

"Kid," Tony patted him on the shoulder, "stop spacing out, come on."

"Um."

"Come on!" Tony said, and the three of them raised their glasses at the same time.

"Cheers!"×3!

Of the three who toasted, Tony and Rhodes both had joy in their eyes, while Jon's eyes held an unreadable expression.
