American comic: I, JoJo, am going to heaven!

Chapter 14 Deacon's Happy Mansion

After arranging to meet with Blade that evening.

After Jon hung up on Blade, he dialed another number. The phone rang for a long time before being answered.

"Hey! Jon."

"Coulson, are you free?" Jon asked.

"What?!" Coulson's line was filled with the sounds of gunfire. "I'm on a mission, Jon! You almost got me killed!"

No sooner had the words left his mouth than a violent explosion came from the other end of the phone.

"Sorry, I'll treat you to a round of drinks next time we meet."

"Seriously?" Coulson shouted as he fired. "But you can't even get into a bar!"

"I...you're right."

Jon was speechless for a moment and had no words to reply.

Because Coulson is right, he really can't get in.

"Jon, if there's nothing else, I'll hang up now. I'm pretty busy here, boom!"

"Um..." Jon was about to speak when the call ended.

"What happened? Without S.H.I.E.L.D., who's going to clean up this mess for me?"

He stared into thought as he looked at the broken window and the still-writhing vampire in the distance.

That's right, the reason Coulson's contact information was kept was so that S.H.I.E.L.D. could clean up the mess.

But if even that's not useful, then this damn S.H.I.E.L.D. is meaningless to him.

A voice came from behind.

"Jon...Jon?"

Skye cautiously peeked out from the broken window frame.

"Is it... over?"

"it's over."

Jon glanced at the broken window, hesitated for a moment, and finally decided to go around to the front door and knock gently.

Frantic footsteps came from behind the door, and soon the door was yanked open.

Skye looked him up and down anxiously. "Are you alright? I saw them shoot at you!"

Her voice trembled slightly.

After all, Jon had just risked his life to save her, and that was on their very first meeting.

Skye wouldn't have been surprised if Jon had let her run around drawing fire while he took the opportunity to escape.

"You weren't shot, were you?"

As she spoke, Skye reached out and lifted Jon's tight-fitting T-shirt.

"Wow!" She couldn't help but whistle as she saw the clearly defined eight-pack abs.

"Hey!" Jon slapped Skye's hand away. "What are you doing?"

"Hehe, sorry, sorry." Skye's apology was completely insincere.

"You're really thick-skinned," Jon said, looking at her helplessly.

Skye shrugged. "A lot of people say that."

"I admire her." Jon had to admit that her mental fortitude was indeed formidable.

He was trembling with fear just a moment ago, but now he's laughing and joking like nothing happened.

"My aunt wasn't as calm as you when she first saw a vampire."

"Vampires?" Skye was taken aback. "Wait, what did you just say?"

"Vampires," Jon Snow repeated calmly.

"Hahaha!" Skye laughed and patted his arm. "Don't joke around, what vampire can do that during the day—uh."

Her laughter stopped abruptly because Jon was looking at her with a "I'm very serious" look in his eyes.

"Why aren't you saying anything?" Skye asked weakly.

"I just think it's better to let the facts speak for themselves." Jon clearly sensed something.

No sooner had he finished speaking than a chilling groan came from behind him.

The vampire with a large hole in his abdomen actually stood up unsteadily.

Skye's pupils suddenly contracted, her fingers gripping Jon's arm tightly, her mouth trying to say something, but no sound came out.

"Do you believe me now?" Jon flicked his wrist, and a rippled throwing knife appeared in his hand.

With a casual flick of his wrist, the blade pierced precisely between the vampire's eyebrows, instantly reducing his head to ashes.

Skye mechanically swallowed, and after a long pause, managed to squeeze out, "...I believe you."

At home

After they sat down again, their expressions were in stark contrast.

Jon calmly sipped his milk tea, while Skye looked like she was questioning the meaning of life.

"So... vampires have infiltrated every industry?" Skye asked.

“That’s right,” Jon said, counting on his fingers, “real estate, healthcare, politics...it’s everywhere.”

"Oh—" Skye suddenly realized, "No wonder I can't afford an apartment in New York."

"Speaking of which," Jon suddenly leaned forward, "why not sell information for money like other hackers?"

"Because I'm a member of the Rising Tide!" Skye proudly puffed out her chest.

"High tide?" Jon scoffed. "Sounds like an underground band."

"They're a hacker group!" Skye slammed her hand on the table, furious. "We advocate breaking down information monopolies and achieving knowledge sharing!"

"Then why don't you share your bank card PIN first?"

"Dream on!"

"What happened to information sharing?" Jon said jokingly, spreading his hands.

Skye was speechless for a moment, her cheeks flushed red: "This...this is different...we, um, uh."

"Hey Skye," Jon suddenly said seriously, "you haven't been brainwashed, have you?"

"I don't think so..." Her rebuttal was clearly lacking in confidence.

Unlike the steadfast member of the organization a year later, Skye has only just joined and her faith is not yet so firm.

"Who knows?"

"I...I will check it out."

Skye stood up in a panic, then suddenly pulled out a notepad as if she remembered something.

"By the way, if you feel unsafe here, you can come to my secret base."

"My secret base is parked in a nearby alley, it's very safe, and it's got plenty of power."

She quickly wrote down the address, and as she tore off the piece of paper, she deliberately ran her fingertip across Jon's palm: "Remember to call me~"

Before leaving, she didn't forget to throw him a charming wink.

"Is it that direct?"

Inside the room, Jon smiled and casually put the note away.

-----------------

At night, at Edgewood Tower.

Jon leaned against a large tree, leisurely smoking a cigarette.

A short while later, Blade sped along the highway on his motorcycle.

Upon seeing Jon, he executed a beautiful drift and successfully stopped in front of Jon.

"Are you fully equipped?" Jon stubbed out his cigarette.

Blade lifted the leather jacket, revealing neatly arranged syringes at his waist.

"This is an anticoagulant," he said coldly, clearly in a bad mood, "that can turn a vampire into a pile of minced meat."

Jon nodded, and the two walked together toward Edgewood Tower.

On the road, Blade suddenly stopped. His eyes behind the sunglasses were unfathomable; after a long silence, he spoke:

"JOJO...Whistler is dead."

"What's going on?" Jon frowned.

Blade squeezed out four words through gritted teeth:

"Excessive blood loss."

When Blade said those words, even his sunglasses couldn't hide the hatred in his heart.

Seeing this, Jon silently patted him on the shoulder without saying anything more.

Actually, Jon isn't very good at comforting people.

Despite his never seeming shy when talking to people, Jon Snow is actually not very good at chatting, but sometimes chatting is essential.

Over time, Jon Snow developed a strange personality.

That kind of personality was jokingly referred to by Joseph as-----

Cheerful yet introverted.
