Lord of Mysteries: Taiyi

Chapter 76 3 Things

In the study on the first floor of Viscount Grynt's luxurious villa.

After hearing Kurt's words, Audrey was very curious about what abilities this gentleman, who could casually produce four or five formulas at the Tarot gathering, possessed. Even though she didn't know he was the Lover, she was still very curious! So Audrey didn't hide her curiosity and said:

"I want to see them all."

Actually, Kurt had noticed Miss Audrey's unease during their earlier conversation in the living room. This was thanks to the enhanced observational skills granted by the "Teacher" potion; he was now practically a "spectator"... Moreover, Audrey didn't know that I knew her identity, so she naturally wouldn't try to hide it too much. Besides, Kurt was naked with his "divine gift" exposed when he prayed that day, making him highly recognizable, although it was indeed his oversight that day...

So Miss Audrey is probably pretty sure I'm her "lover." Even if she didn't recognize me, she'd still have her doubts. But that's obviously a good thing. Audrey's sense of belonging to the Tarot Club is probably even stronger than Klein's. Knowing I'm from the Tarot Club makes things much easier from here on out...

Thinking this through, Kurt decided to add fuel to the fire, to make Audrey even more certain that he was her "lover," so he said this:

"Miss Audrey, extraordinary abilities are a very important secret for every extraordinary being..."

Kurt adopted the tone and posture he used when teaching about "justice" at tarot readings, but before they could speak, he suddenly changed the subject:

"However, to show my sincerity, I will try my best to present the whole thing."

What he said was indeed true. It wouldn't be a big problem for Audrey and Fors to know about his abilities, but unfortunately there was also Viscount Grelint here. However, according to the original work, this guy was considered quite good among the nobles, and he wanted to pursue the path of "pharmacist"...

I can easily fleece him. As for the leak of his extraordinary abilities, his official status as an extraordinary user means that a simple warning isn't enough. I can then use the formula to entice him. Besides, I'm not even at Sequence 7 yet, so there are still many abilities I don't know about.

His lecturing tone and posture are exactly the same as Mr. "Lover". He still disdains to pretend as before, which makes it easy for me to lock onto him. Mr. "Lover" would never have imagined that "justice" is right in front of him!

He does indeed need my help and Viscount Grelint's help. He's willing to demonstrate his extraordinary abilities to gain our trust so that we won't be able to refuse him later... Audrey quickly analyzed Kurt's "true intentions," who seemed completely unaware that there was an "audience" on the other side, and thus relaxed his vigilance.

Kurt, of course, had no idea what Audrey was thinking. After unbuttoning his shirt, he pretended to take out a potion bottle and then some spiritual materials, as if he was going to concoct a potion on the spot.

"Mr. Kurt, your outfit is so cool! Where was it custom-made?" Viscount Grelint's eyes lit up as he watched Kurt's practiced movements; it perfectly matched his expectations.

"Why is that your focus?" Kurt smiled.

"I sewed it myself."

So he'll just make do with what he has, and when Lori comes back, his sister will sew him a better one.

Then, under the curious gazes of the other three, he began to "prepare" the potion.

Fors wasn't too surprised because she had seen Kurt always produce a lot of strange potions; she was just curious about how Kurt concocted them.

Audrey then connected the dots, recalling the "Pharmacist" recipe Kurt gave at the first Tarot meeting. Could Mr. Kurt be an Extraordinary being in the "Pharmacist" pathway, or perhaps a vampire? She remembered Mr. "The Lover" saying that the Pharmacist's Sequence Seven would turn one into a vampire, and that his eyes were also reddish! Audrey seemed to have an answer, but she was still wondering why "The Lover" would ask Mr. Fool for the Sequence Seven "Painter" recipe...

Viscount Grelint, on the other hand, was practically staring wide-eyed, eagerly anticipating the effects of the potion.

Audrey glanced at him and noticed that her friend seemed to be thinking about something impolite. Since becoming a spectator, he had increasingly felt that the people around him were very different from the people he remembered.

But at least Viscount Grelint doesn't have any ill intentions towards me... Audrey thought with some relief.

Kurt didn't waste any time. After a chaotic mix-up, he used his "divine" power to create two bottles of "invisibility potion," which should be the most lethal to Viscount Grelint.

Amidst the somewhat surprised gazes of the crowd, Kurt first tilted his head back and drank a bottle, after which his body rapidly faded, leaving only his clothes floating in the air. Another bottle of potion flew up out of thin air, and the potion, which had a slightly golden hue due to the addition of golden-edged sunflower, was sprinkled on his clothes, causing them to completely disappear as well. Kurt had successfully become invisible...

This almost magical scene was indeed very effective in front of the three people, who were basically novices in the study of the occult. Viscount Grelint, in particular, almost cried out in surprise, but he forcibly suppressed his emotions when he thought of the two ladies present.

Audrey felt a little regretful. This ability was really cool, but also terrifying. She was afraid that there might be invisible people around her in daily life... Fortunately, her father hired many extraordinary people to protect their safety at home.

Fors, on the other hand, felt that the "apprentice's" abilities seemed only suitable for escaping...

To avoid upsetting the two ladies, Kurt only symbolically walked to the desk, picked up a pen, twirled it a few times to demonstrate his ability, and then used another potion to dispel his invisibility.

Seeing that Viscount Grelint was already getting impatient, Kurt chuckled and before he could make a move, Kurt pulled out a few sheets of draft paper. Thinking that the effect should be sufficient, Kurt did not use the "dotting" spell again, but instead went to Miss Audrey.

He gently handed over a sheet of scratch paper, then smiled and said:

"Miss Audrey, please write down your favorite animal here. It can be its nickname or pet name, and you can add some prefixes."

Then Kurt performed a dream divination on the spot and guessed the answer on the paper: My favorite pet, Susie.

At Viscount Grynt’s insistence, he also guessed his birthday and favorite dessert.

"This is real divination! It's so cool!" Viscount Grelint exclaimed excitedly.

Audrey secretly pursed her lips, thinking, "I really want the ability to tell fortunes too! Why didn't Mr. Kurt recommend any way to do that that day? He clearly does!"

Finally, Kurt used dark magic to transform into a bat made of black mist, which completely won over Viscount Grelint. Judging from his expression, Viscount Grelint was eager to become his disciple on the spot.

Seeing that his goal had been achieved, Kurt, according to his previous agreement with Fors, decided to take the lead in the negotiations:

"Alright, I'm sure you two believe we are extraordinary beings now. Time is running out, so let's get straight to the point. I need you to help me with three things."

"In return, Miss Fors and I will lead you into the extraordinary world, help you become extraordinary, and teach you the corresponding extraordinary knowledge."

Having just recovered from the awe-inspiring display of his extraordinary abilities, Audrey began to wonder what her powerful "lover" might need her and Viscount Grelint's help with. It couldn't be money, could it? Someone with such extraordinary abilities must make money very easily…
