Chapter 75 Audrey

In Viscount Grynt's luxurious villa, Audrey nearly lost consciousness upon seeing the ring.

No way, no way, Kurt Bard is Mr. "Lover"? What a coincidence! That ring is exactly the same as the one I saw through the gray fog that day. Audrey was shocked, but on the surface she remained calm and began to observe Mr. Kurt.

She observed many small details in less than three seconds.

"Mr. Kurt, every movement is powerful and there is no wobbling. This is in line with his profession as a watchmaker. His skills must be excellent."

"His complexion is excellent; both his skin and eyes are full of energy, which proves that he has a regular schedule... or it may be related to his extraordinary abilities."

"His facial expression suggested he was somewhat unaccustomed to this occasion, but a faint smile played on his lips, as if he were anticipating something. This indicated that they weren't passively discovered as Extraordinary by Grelint; they most likely had something to ask of the Viscount… What would an Extraordinary need? Money or Extraordinary materials?"

Moreover, the gentle and mild feeling he gives off is very similar to the feeling that Mr. "The Lovers" gives off during Tarot readings!

"He was on high alert... Oh no, he's spotted me."

Kurt's heightened senses made him feel like he was being watched by a curious gaze. He gracefully finished the last bite of his toast, put down his plate, and looked up normally at the source of the gaze.

To be honest, when he arrived at the salon, he was stared at by quite a few people, mostly noble ladies. Fortunately, after seeing "God's Gift" and Fors who was always by Kurt's side, they wisely chose to observe from afar. He was happy to have some peace and quiet, only occasionally chatting with Fors and "hunting" for some sweets.

Wow, so beautiful... That was Kurt's first impression. Only after seeing the girl look away somewhat guiltily did he realize that this must be Audrey.

Audrey Hall, dressed in a white gown with mutton sleeves, ruffles, and lace detailing at the bodice, was slowly approaching with Viscount Grynt. She wore a veiled hat adorned with blue ribbons and silk flowers, and light-colored gauze gloves; her gaze was somewhat evasive.

Kurt paused for a second before offering a polite smile, inwardly thinking: The original description of Audrey is that of a "witch," so how beautiful must this witch be? I'd better be careful not to be bewitched later...

Back in the old days, he was also "bewitched" by Deng Li's beauty, which is why he somewhat hastily agreed to her pursuit. Of course, he prefers inner beauty, hmm.

Mr. "Lover" can quickly notice when someone is watching... and he will also give a polite smile. What should I do? Will he recognize me? It shouldn't be possible, right? Audrey regained her composure and went to Kurt and Fors.

At this moment, Viscount Grelint introduced Kurt and Fors:

"Madam, sir. This is Miss Audrey, whom I mentioned earlier. She is the most dazzling jewel of Baekeland. Her father is Earl Hall, a senator trusted by the King and respected by the nobles."

"Good afternoon, Ms. Fors. Your copy of 'Stormy Mountain Villa' is still on my bedside table."

"Good afternoon, Mr. Kurt. The clocks made by Mr. Cole are still in my home and have never had any problems. I think your skills are certainly no less than your father's."

Audrey bowed strictly according to aristocratic etiquette.

Although you are very likely to become a painter...

Kurt adjusted his top hat, returned the gesture with a standard bow, and sincerely praised him:

"Good afternoon, Miss Audrey, I am very impressed by your beauty."

After thinking for a moment, he swallowed back the words, "I can't help but want to design a unique pocket watch for you myself." He wasn't used to this way of speaking. He simply offered a word of praise.

Fors returned the greeting simply:

"Good afternoon, Miss Audrey. I think I've found material for my next novel."

In front of a large crowd, the two exchanged only a few pleasantries and did not discuss anything else. Fors did most of the talking, as she was more familiar with how to handle such situations than Kurt.

Watching Fors and Kurt leave, Audrey withdrew her gaze and followed Viscount Grelint to the living room.

As she recalled the details of what had just happened, she became increasingly certain that Kurt was her "lover"! Their postures were exactly the same; his habits seemed fixed, every little movement precise, down to the last detail…

Taking a step forward, Audrey, who had regained her composure and remained as aloof as an audience member, stepped on the hem of her drooping skirt, swayed, and was about to fall.

Just then, her personal maid, Anne, who was prepared, caught her, preserving her good image.

"Miss, this dress has a very unique design, you need to be careful," Anne said considerately in a low voice.

"I understand." Audrey nodded, her face flushed.

I just recognized a member of an extremely secretive organization, and I got a little excited and forgot to watch my step... She argued with herself, feeling a little aggrieved.

During the salon that followed, Audrey maintained a sweet and elegant smile throughout, greeting gentlemen and ladies from all walks of life.

Finally, her lips, which were slightly stiff, received Viscount Grelint's hint.

After waiting for a while, she made an excuse to go to the restroom, slowly stood up, and left the salon.

After confirming that no one was watching her anymore, she went to the study on the first floor and said to Anne:

"I have something to say to Grelint. Don't let anyone else in."

Anne nodded knowingly, as if she were already used to it.

Entering the study and locking the door, she saw Grelint talking to Kurt, while Fors wandered around the bookshelves, casually flipping through the collection.

Viscount Grelint, who was planning to have Kurt design a personal pocket watch for him, saw Audrey's arrival, said he would talk to Kurt later, and stood up to greet her.

"Let me reintroduce you, Fors Wall and Kurt Bard, the true extraordinary ones."

Kurt straightened his clothes and stood up from the sofa.

"Really?" Audrey deliberately feigned doubt.

Fors came up to Kurt and smiled:

"We can absolutely prove ourselves. Would you like to see?"

Audrey certainly wouldn't refuse, even though she was also an Extraordinary, she didn't have any of the "cool" skills that Russell had described.

"I'll go first," Fors said, walking directly to the door and gently grasping the handle.

Suddenly, Fors became a phantom and passed through the door.

Audrey was shocked. She looked again, but Fors had disappeared.

A few seconds later, the handle was turned and the locked door was opened, and Fors Wall walked in with a smile.

As Audrey and Viscount Grelint both expressed their surprise, Kurt laughed and said:

"I have quite a few abilities; which one would you like to see?"
