Lord of Mysteries: Taiyi

Chapter 47 Let the Night Watchers worry about it themselves.

Kernar Mediation Office at 47 Truffle Street, Backlund Bridge District.

Wearing a double-breasted long dress, a half-high silk hat, and carrying a solid mahogany cane, Kurt found the Night Watch squad responsible for the bridge area in a not-so-obvious spot.

The doors of the Kerner Mediation Center were wide open. Kurt glanced inside and saw Leah Kingston reading a newspaper behind the counter.

She was frowning as she looked at a section of the newspaper. Her long, black hair was tied up, and she was wearing a beige dress with a high collar and mutton sleeves, exuding youthful energy and looking much better.

Kurt didn't say anything and walked straight to the counter.

Leah didn't look up, and said without any emotion:

"This is the 'Kerner' Mediation Center. What can I do for you?"

Only then did Kurt realize that Leah was playing a word puzzle with rearranged letters on the newspaper.

Just as Kurt was about to tease her about her work attitude, he saw Leah raise her head and give a somewhat awkward smile.

"Excuse me, sir... Kurt! What brings you here?"

Lia's smile instantly turned to surprise and genuineness, and she asked in astonishment.

Kurt smiled, abandoning his joke, and asked with some doubt:

"Didn't you become a 'lawyer'?"

Leah's expression turned slightly somber, and she puffed out her cheeks slightly as she replied:

"They said they'd make me an Extraordinary once I'm in better mental condition, so they'll have me stay here on duty for now. Sorry, I was just playing a word guessing game."

Coutt glanced at the watch, nodded, and reminded her:

"Trust the Night Watcher and wait until the authorities confirm your situation before drinking the potion. I've discovered some information about the Void Cult; let me see your captain or a member."

He didn't mention Baron, afraid it would upset Leah.

After hearing this, Leah's expression turned serious, and she nodded, saying:

"Wait for me to go in and let you know."

After saying that, she opened a door and went inside, returning shortly afterward.

She looked at Kurt and said:

"I'll take you inside; the captain is waiting for you there."

He followed Leah to an office.

I saw a middle-aged man who was nearly 40 years old, wearing a black overcoat, with dark green eyes and obvious nasolabial folds on his face.

After gesturing for Leah to leave, he first glanced at the "divine gift" on Kurt's left hand, then extended his hand and smiled as he spoke:

"Mr. Kurt? I am Hans Condon, the captain of the Night Watch Bridge squad."

Kurt gently shook Hans's hand, then began to get down to business:

"I relied on dream interpretation to recall that my father, Cole Bard, exchanged glances and nodded to Baron Kingston in the town of Momi in the Middle Sea 12 years ago."

"I used this as a starting point, and this morning I went to my father's room and found this note in the photo frame with a respectful name pointing to 'Taiyin' written on it, as well as this suspicious notebook."

Hans took the note, glanced at it, nodded solemnly, and asked cautiously:

"You didn't recite this name, did you? Or did anyone else see this string of names?"

I'm a little hesitant to read it... Kurt shook his head in denial:

"I did not recite it; I only believe in the Mother Goddess, and I have not revealed it to anyone else."

"Besides Klein..." Kurt silently added, then noticed that Hans was neither surprised by his divination nor thought he was still a novice in the mysticism. It seemed that his special "variable" was already well known to the official extraordinary beings of the three major churches. After all, he was a "pseudo-Sequence 5" level combatant, which could not be ignored.

Hans nodded and continued in a somewhat deep voice:

"Thank you for the information. We will focus our investigation on this aspect. Regarding the arrest of 'Fourth Brother,' we may need your assistance in the investigation then, so please be prepared."

Kurt squinted slightly and nodded, saying:

"This is what I should do. If you need anything, you can go to the church in advance and ask the bishop to notify me. I go to Harvest Church to study every morning at 10 o'clock."

"I asked my teacher for leave today."

Kurt noticed Hans glance at his watch and explained why he was here at 10:30.

He decided in the morning to first explain the whole story to the night watchmen, letting them investigate and worry about it. Just like the early days of the "Church of Fools," as long as he didn't respond, no one could use that to pinpoint his identity...

Moreover, the honorific name in that passage ultimately refers to Taiyin, not him.

Hans nodded, his dark green eyes flashing as he added:

"Mr. Kurt, your merits this time will be recorded and handed over to the Church of Mother Earth."

"Be careful of 'four lines,' which is predicted to be Sequence 7."

……

After easily guessing the riddle, Kurt, who was getting bored, said goodbye to Leah and hailed a taxi, intending to return to the Harvest Church to continue his language lessons.

On the carriage, Kurt rubbed his temples, and couldn't help but recall the scene from that morning.

Why did a flawed name that I came up with randomly appear in the picture frame in Cole's room?

When he first tested it, he found that it worked on the first try. The variable beyond the fixed boundary refers to him, the transmigrator who suddenly intervened and brought the source quality, which will make the already destined story full of surprises and variables again. The transmigrator who returned home against the flow represents that he lost his former home and life and returned to his "hometown" where he had only lived for five years in a unique way.

The regular reflections and the cracks of truth are manifested based on certain spells. The ability to "add eyes" (or "address") can alter the properties of objects and even conjure matter out of thin air is unscientific...

Most importantly, apart from Kurt himself and Klein, no one else knew this honorific name. He hadn't even told his sister, let alone outsiders.

He was already starting to regret letting Klein see that list of honored names, which would likely eventually reach Klein's ears... However, given Klein's conscience, he would definitely go above the gray fog to perform divination before making a "cautious" choice...

Could it be that "Taiyin's" brainwaves are identical to mine, and it came up with the exact same honorific name? Just with my own name added? Or am I currently suffering from amnesia or being reborn, and Taiyin is actually my former self...?

Let's wait for Klein to pray to him to prove it. If he doesn't, it means Klein has chickened out or "Taiyin" doesn't have any ill intentions towards him. After all, with the Source Castle around, Klein will avoid danger in time. If he hears Klein's prayer, it means that the outsider's thoughts are directed at him without the "Taiyin" attribute.

Should I redesign my title...? Otherwise, when I create my own organization later, I might get involved with the Nihilistic Cult, and it could even put my followers in danger. Because once I reach Sequence Four or Sequence Three, Kut will need an anchor, and Kut has been thinking about how to develop his organization or find another way to establish an anchor...

Should Fors write a novel for me too? I don't seem to have anything to write about. Maybe I should do something massive charity work to make my name last forever...
