Lord of Mysteries: Taiyi

Kurt chuckled and casually sprinkled some spiritual powder, sealing the entire carriage. He remarked on Hugh's careless habit of reciting the Fool's name, and then, in a teacher's tone, said:

"With sufficient knowledge of the occult, you can glean clues from various sources. Therefore, Miss Hugh, please refrain from revealing your or your friends' extraordinary abilities indiscriminately."

Hugh nodded, somewhat bewildered, then suddenly remembered that in her haste, she had revealed Kurt's extraordinary abilities to Fors without his permission. Her face flushed, and she bowed her head in remorse, apologizing profusely.

"Um... Mr. Kurt, I accidentally revealed your extraordinary abilities to my friend, I'm sorry! But please rest assured, she's a very kind lady, although she has a few bad habits, I promise she won't tell anyone!"

Actually, I deliberately tricked you into doing this, taking advantage of your carelessness and impatience… Kurt looked at Hugh, who had an apologetic expression, waved his hand guiltily, and said with a deliberately serious face:

"Is that the 'apprentice' friend you were just talking about?"

Kurt paused symbolically for a moment, then, amidst Hugh's rapidly accelerating heartbeat, he finally smiled and spoke:

"Bring her with you tomorrow night; I need to observe her for a while."

When Hugh heard Kurt reply in his usual tone, he breathed a sigh of relief and sincerely looked up at Kurt, saying:

"Thank you for your kindness, we will try our best to pay you back."

"I haven't agreed to help break the curse yet..." Kurt chuckled inwardly and nodded slightly.

In the original story, when two informants died because of the mission issued by Hugh, the seemingly naive young lady in front of me felt guilty for a long time and even paid compensation to their families out of her own pocket. This shows that this former noble lady, who was burdened with a mission, was kind enough and, in a sense, innocent enough.

Kurt enjoys dealing with and making friends with these kinds of people, without having to worry about too many unnecessary troubles.

At 11 o'clock, Kurt finished his teaching assignment on time and gave everyone a seed, instructing them to go back and plant it, saying it was to let them experience the charm of life.

"If these seeds successfully germinate and survive, I will give you all some rewards, like sourdough or candy. I will come to your homes to check on you then."

The seeds Kurt gave were all sunflower seeds, modified sunflowers, which would germinate in about a week. What he just said was actually meant for their parents, letting them know that Kurt might help them, but not to make a fuss…

He also noticed that Lucy was still very hungry and depressed, and somewhat distracted in class, but she still left half a loaf of bread. As he left, Kurt went outside and saw that her sister was in the same state.

After Lucy gave that small piece of bread to her sister, the sister only broke off a tiny bit and ate it, then put the rest back in her pocket...

Kurt frowned. At least the two sisters were able to eat their fill during their first few days there…

"Has your family suffered a misfortune?" After everyone had left, Hugh closed the school door and walked over, asking in a somewhat childish voice:

"Shall we go back?"

"What happened?"

"Lucy is acting strangely; I want to go with her and see what's going on."

"My student, Lucy, is in danger tonight."

At this moment, Kurt said to Hugh:

"You can go back now. Lucy is in danger, I need to go check on her. Don't worry about me."

After navigating through several alleys, they finally spotted Lucy and her sister's backs. They walked hand in hand, their steps hurried, toward a rather narrow house.

Kurt and Hugh slowed their pace and stopped a short distance away to observe.

The older sister held her younger sister's small hand in one hand, and gently knocked on the door with the other, calling out in a soft voice:

"Mom, we're back."

A moment later, the door opened, and a rather slender, pretty woman dressed in relatively new linen clothes opened the door. Lucy and Lucy quickly slipped inside, and the woman glanced outside before quickly closing the door behind her.

Hugh turned his gaze away and asked with some confusion:

"It doesn't look dangerous."

Kurt's expression remained unchanged as he said:

"It might take a while. You can go home first and not keep your friend waiting."

Just as Hugh was about to speak, he saw a drunk man appear on the street corner. He had a full beard, wore somewhat filthy clothes, and was carrying a bottle of liquor. He staggered toward Lucy's house.

He finished his last sip of wine and smashed the glass bottle against Lucy's window, shattering it completely.

A soft gasp came from inside the house, then there was no further movement.

Seeing that they did not resist, the drunkard became even more arrogant and shouted:

"Claire, you filthy bitch, pay back the money! If you can't, then come and serve us... and hand over your two little beasts too."

Then he started banging on the door and continued shouting:

"That bastard Kuhn is about to die, isn't he? Today I'll sell you all out... Uh, who are you?"

As he was speaking, he found himself being lifted up. He slightly opened his eyes and felt a dizzying sensation followed by a sharp pain in his back.
