Lord of Mysteries: Taiyi
Chapter 14 Role Playing Method
Above the gray fog, in what seemed to be the temple where the giant king resided.
Audrey analyzed the expressions of the "Hanged Man" and Mr. "Lovers," and the clever girl recalled a word she had read in the novel: bargaining.
Mr. Hanged Man had overpaid and was waiting for me to counter-bid, while Mr. Lover wanted to remind me that he might offer a lower price to compete, probably the former... but I answered too quickly, so Mr. Lover didn't have time to advise me.
Audrey thanked Mr. "Lover" for his kindness in her heart, mainly because she had never imagined that the amazing "extraordinary" knowledge would be so cheap, only a little more expensive than Susie's.
At this moment, Audrey thought of Susie's eyes before they arrived above the gray fog, and suddenly felt a little guilty as she spoke:
"Is there a problem? The gold pounds are also being sent to the 'Warrior and the Sea' bar on Tigo Street in the Rose District of Port Pritz, to tell the owner, Williams, that this is what the captain wants?"
Alger, the "Hanged Man," took a breath before nodding and saying:
"Yes, which part would you like to hear first?"
"Justice," Audrey thought for a moment, then spoke with some anticipation:
"I want to obtain the Sequence 8 potion recipe as soon as possible. What are the channels for this, and when can I advance to Sequence 8?"
Alger, the "Hanged Man," paused for a moment before speaking:
"If you want to advance to Sequence Eight as quickly as possible, you need to practice meditation every day, the kind 'Lover' taught you at the last gathering." 'The Hanged Man' Alger glanced at 'Lover' who had been listening attentively, paused, and continued, "Thus controlling your spirituality and power… Repeat this to gradually master the potion's power, uncovering its symbolic meaning and deeper mysteries. Only in this way can you minimize the risk of losing control. The key here is the potion's 'name,' such as 'The Audience'!"
Klein, the Fool, had originally intended to quietly listen to their conversation, their silent memorization and learning, without intending to interrupt. However, upon hearing this, he recalled the diary of Emperor Roselle that he had just read, and an idea came to him.
Klein tapped the edge of the long table a few times, instantly attracting the attention of the three people below, who all turned their gazes to this "mysterious powerhouse".
Kurt slightly curled the corners of his mouth, but then, remembering there was an 'audience' opposite him, he smoothed his lips down, waiting for Mr. Fool to put on a big show.
"It's not about mastering, it's about digesting."
"It's not digging, it's acting."
"The name of a potion is not only a symbol, but also an image, and even more so, a 'key' to digestion."
Audrey listened, stunned and confused, not quite understanding what Mr. Fool was saying.
She subconsciously began to observe the reactions of the two members opposite her, and she was immediately surprised to find that the reactions of "The Hanged Man" and "The Lovers" were very different.
Upon hearing this news, the Hanged Man trembled and froze, as if struck by lightning, unable to move.
Previously, after Mr. Hanged Man learned that I was in the audience, his micro-expressions were noticeably less than at the last gathering, but now he has completely "lost his composure" in front of an audience member.
His expression was a mixture of joy and shock, along with a hint of fear and bewilderment. It seemed that this news was very important to him. "Justice" Audrey subconsciously began to analyze the state of "The Hanged Man".
"Digest, play... digest, play... digest, the key..." Alger the Hanged Man repeated over and over, as if he had grasped some key, as if he were under some kind of spell.
Mr. "Lover" was much calmer. He nodded slightly, a very faint smile on his lips. It seemed he already knew this knowledge and was just confirming it once again.
Oh no, Mr. "Lover" seems to have noticed me watching him. He gave me an awkward smile. "Justice" Audrey was caught red-handed and embarrassedly withdrew from "spectator" mode, quickly averting her gaze.
Ah, how embarrassing, how embarrassing... Audrey resisted the urge to slap her cheeks and stared blankly ahead as if nothing had happened.
Klein, sitting at the head of the table, also noticed the different attitudes of the three men. Miss Justice was unaware of what this meant, Mr. Hanged Man was deeply shocked, and it seemed that this was of great help to him. Mr. Lover seemed to have known about this all along, and his aura was very calm, which was consistent with his possible background as a member of a powerful secret organization.
Alger, the "Hanged Man," remembered there was an "audience" in front of him. He quickly recovered from his shock, swiftly raised his head, and glanced at his calm "lover" out of the corner of his eye. After arriving at a similar guess as Klein's, he took a deep breath and said in a hoarse voice:
"Thank you, Mr. Fool. Your insight is as precious as my life. It has helped me understand so much, though I am sure I do not fully understand it yet."
"Lover" Kurt, fearing the Fool would be too embarrassed to ask for payment later, smiled and said:
"I also thank you. Your revelation confirmed some things for me, some very important things."
As for what it was, only God knows… Kurt smiled to himself.
Seeing the other two members express their support, Audrey, the "Justice" member, also thanked them, saying, "Thank you, Mr. Fool."
Although I didn't understand, she stuck out her tongue in her mind.
Klein secretly breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing Mr. "Lover's" words. Maintaining his enigmatic tone, he said:
"This is an advance payment."
Although he didn't quite understand those words, Emperor Roselle was certainly stronger and more knowledgeable than most extraordinary beings.
The prepaid fee… Even if Audrey was naive, she understood how valuable the knowledge Mr. Fool had just casually revealed was. While trying to comprehend those few words, she asked:
"Mr. Fool, what do you want us to do?"
Kude, the "lover," nodded and asked:
"I will help you with whatever I can."
The same meaning is found in "The Hanged Man" by Alger.
Klein leaned back slightly, glanced to both sides, and said in a low, soothing voice:
"Help me collect Russell Gustave's secret diary, even if it's just one page."
