Chapter 460 The Director with Nothing to Do

The filming of "Dragon Soars Across the Seas" took ten days.

Chen Xun found himself with nothing to do.

Every morning when I arrived at the film set, all departments were already prepared.

Jackie Chan and his stunt team were adjusting the action sequences, Jet Li was meditating in a corner, Stephen Chow and the screenwriter were squatting together revising the lines, and Vin Diesel and Paul were inspecting the Dodge.

Chen Xun sat behind the monitor, holding a cup of coffee, watching for a while before turning to Li Suyan and asking, "What are we filming today?"

Scene 37: The battle in the secret chamber of the pyramid.

Lee So-yeon flipped through her schedule: "Jet Li vs. the villainous ninja group."

"Is Brother Jay ready?"

"I arrived very early this morning and walked around the room three times by myself."

Chen Xun nodded without saying anything.

Li Suyan looked at him: "Aren't you going to give them some pointers?"

"Instruction on what? When Brother Jie was filming action scenes, I was still wearing open-crotch pants."

"Then what are you doing sitting here?"

"Watch."

Lee So-yeon was speechless, then turned and left.

In the center of the arena, Jet Li, dressed in a gray monk's robe and holding a wooden stick, stood opposite eight stuntmen in black ninja outfits.

The action director from Jackie Chan's stunt team was explaining the blocking to them. Jet Li listened, nodding occasionally, his expression calm.

Chen Xun put down his coffee cup and walked over.

"Brother Jie."

Jet Li turned his head.

"How are you going to fight in this scene?"

"Tai Chi staff, using softness to overcome hardness, does not take the initiative to attack, but waits for them to come up."

"Where's the rhythm?"

"Start slowly, then speed up."

Jet Li gestured: "The first few, one by one, I'll use the stick to push them aside, then the last three come at me together, and I'll exert my strength."

Chen Xun thought for a moment: "Let's add a shot of you with your eyes closed at the beginning, so they rush at you and you open your eyes."

Jet Li glanced at him, and the corner of his mouth twitched slightly: "Okay."

Chen Xun didn't say anything more and went back behind the monitor.

The clapperboard fell.

Eight ninjas rushed towards Jet Li at the same time.

Jet Li closed his eyes, a wooden stick held horizontally in front of him, and remained motionless.

As the first blade came slashing down, he dodged to the side, and with a gentle flick of his staff, the ninja was thrown out and fell to the ground.

The second, the third, the fourth.

His movements were small, even minimal.

The stick was used to fling the person away by leveraging their strength.

Chen Xun watched from behind the monitor.

When the fifth ninja rushed up, Jet Li suddenly opened his eyes.

The stick spun around in his hand so fast that the camera almost couldn't keep up.

The three ninjas were swept to the ground at the same time.

The remaining two stood there, stunned, too afraid to go up.

Jet Li put away the stick and put his hands together in prayer position.

"Card!"

There was a moment of silence, then Chris Hemsworth led the applause: "Beautiful!"

Chen Xun continued to sit behind the monitor, holding his coffee.

Lee So-yeon came over again: "You've been sitting for two hours, do you want to get up and walk around?"

"Need not."

"You're that free?"

Chen Xun thought for a moment: "How about I go and edit a trailer?"

"We don't have enough material."

"How about I help the props team make dumplings?"

"Thor has already used up all the props team's flour; they won't be able to restock until tomorrow."

Chen Xun sighed: "Then I really have nothing to do."

Lee So-yeon looked at him, her expression complex: "You're the director."

"I know."

"The director must be very busy."

Chen Xun stood up and stretched: "These people are too professional, I can't get involved."

He pointed to the field.

Jackie Chan just finished filming a kitchen fight scene, using two spatulas and a slotted spoon, and his movements were fluid and skillful.

One take!

They were even filmed separately, so he wasn't needed to direct them.

Chen Xun simply let go completely, only looking at the final shooting effect, and letting everyone shoot freely.

This is probably the most absurd film crew ever!

Just then, Lee So-yeon rushed over: "There are so many fans outside."

Chen Xun looked up: "How much?"

"There are at least one or two hundred, and the number is still increasing. Security guards have already surrounded the road."

Chen Xun stood up and walked towards the entrance of the film set.

Christine followed behind him.

Sure enough, a large crowd had gathered outside the gate, some taking photos with their phones, and others holding up handwritten support signs.

The words on the sign were all over the place.

"Jackie Chan, I love you!"

Stephen Chow is forever a god.

"Thor's dumplings smell delicious."

"Chen Xun is awake!"

The girls on the far side were holding up pictures of Christine and shouting the loudest.

Chen Xun walked over, and when the security guard tried to stop him, he waved his hand.

"How did you find this place?"

A boy standing at the front answered, "Someone posted the film set address online, so we came."

Who posted this?

"have no idea."

Chen Xun turned and glanced at Li Suyan, who immediately took out her phone and started searching.

This is no small matter.

If you get surrounded by fans, there's no guarantee that some opportunists won't show up.

When the fans saw Chen Xun come out, they shouted excitedly.

"Chen Xun, are you feeling better?"

"Brother Chen Xun, when will 'Dragon Soars Across the Seas' be released?"

"Could we ask Chris Hemsworth to come out and take a picture with us?"

Hearing the last sentence, Chen Xun laughed: "Did you come to see me, or to see Brother Hammer?"

"Everyone, look!" the fan shouted.

Thor, who had somehow followed Chen Xun, stood behind him and poked his head out: "Someone looking for me?"

The fans screamed instantly.

Chris Hemsworth puffed out his chest, strode forward, and opened his arms: "Come on, let's take a picture!"

Fans surged forward, surrounding Chris Hemsworth, who was surrounded by them, laughing like a 200-pound child.

Jackie Chan also came out, and fans turned to him, shouting, "Brother Jackie Chan!"

Jackie Chan smiled and waved, then walked up to a little boy holding up a photo of him, squatted down, and asked, "How old are you?"

Eight years old.

Have you seen my movies?

"I've seen Rush Hour!"

Jackie Chan patted his head: "Not bad, you have good taste."

Stephen Chow didn't come out, but he stood at the door and glanced inside. A sharp-eyed fan spotted him: "Master Xing!"

Stephen Chow immediately shrank back.

After checking for a while, Li Suyan came over and whispered, "The address was probably sent by someone in the crew. It could be an extra or a staff member."

Chen Xun thought for a moment: "Let's finish filming here as soon as possible and move to another location!"

This is abroad; he has to be responsible for the safety of these people.

He turned to his fans and said, "Everyone, we can't go into the filming location, but you can wait outside. Please be careful and don't block the road."

A female fan shouted, "Could you please let Jennifer come out for a moment? I'm a huge fan of hers!"

Chen Xun looked back.

Jennifer was standing at the entrance of the photography studio, her hands in her pockets, hesitating whether to come over.

Chen Xun waved to her.

Jennifer walked over, and the fans screamed again.

"She said she's a longtime fan of yours."

Chen Xun pointed to the female fan.

Jennifer walked up to the female fan: "Really?"

"I've been shipping you and Chen Xun since 'The Hunger Games'!"

The female fan's eyes welled up with tears.

Jennifer reached out and shook her hand: "Thank you!"

The female fan was so excited she couldn't speak.

As more and more people gathered at the entrance, security guards began to maintain order.

Chen Xun asked Li Suyan to buy more than a dozen boxes of water for everyone, and also asked the props team to bring several boxes of cookies made by the crew themselves.

Originally intended as afternoon tea for the staff, it's now being given to the fans.

One fan received the cookies, glanced at the packaging which featured the "Dragon Soars Across the Seas" logo, and immediately tweeted: "Cookies given out by the production crew, I can't bear to eat them, I'm going to treat them like treasures!"
