Pokémon: All About the Breeding House

Chapter 36 Cynthia: Let's skip work!

"It's so late already, a meal wouldn't make a difference... right?"

Fang Yan looked at Cynthia's slightly narrowed eyes as she looked at him, touched his nose, grinned like Gengar, and said.

Cynthia, holding the lily root doll in her arms, smiled as she looked at Fang Yan's embarrassed expression.

Although they had only known each other for a short time, she could tell that Fang Yan was actually a good person, which was evident from his attitude towards Pokémon.

That's why she continued to interact with Fang Yan; people who love Pokémon always easily gain the favor of another person who loves Pokémon.

She frowned slightly, holding the lily root doll in one hand, while her other hand's slender, snow-white fingers gently rested on her smooth chin, her thumb lightly rubbing against it as if she were considering something.

Seeing Fang Yan barely daring to breathe, he slowly said, "Okay."

Fang Yan breathed a sigh of relief after hearing this, then looked at her mischievous eyes and sighed helplessly.

As expected, compared to others, we are still far behind.

Seeing this, Cynthia couldn't help but laugh to herself.

It seems that he rarely greets girls with his dialect.

That's what Cynthia thought.

Fang Yan got up, letting Cynthia continue enjoying her afternoon tea, while he prepared to go to the vegetable garden with Gengar to pick some vegetables.

Seeing this, Cynthia offered to help. Under her earnest gaze, Fang Yan nodded and then had Gengar take her to pick vegetables.

Back at the door, he took out a pair of unopened slippers, which he had bought extra for Xia Lan and the others. He ran back to the kitchen and picked up a vegetable basket from the wall.

Upon arriving in the backyard, Fang Yan placed the slippers in front of Cynthia. The backyard consisted of dirt paths and grass, making it inconvenient to wear high heels. He then handed the vegetable basket to Gengar.

Cynthia hesitated for a moment after placing the slippers in front of her, then bent down and took off her high heels. Her white ankles and toes emerged from the high heels, and her nail-painted feet flashed past Fang Yan's eyes before appearing in the slippers.

Looking at the slippers that were clearly several sizes too big, and the bright nail polish underneath, Fang Yan coughed twice and then looked away.

Cynthia moved around a little to adjust, then put her high heels together next to the chair, and stood up from the chair while holding the lily root doll.

After giving Gengar a few instructions, Fang Yan took Monini back to the kitchen to prepare other ingredients.

Since Monini was born, Gengar has slowly begun to hand over the kitchen work to Monini.

Watching Fang Yan and Monini disappear through the doorway, Cynthia reached into her trench coat pocket, pulled it out, and found it full of Poké Balls. She then tossed them into the air.

Cynthia's Pokémon all appeared at the nursery, and Fang Yan, who received a status bar notification, looked out the window.

Lucario, Gastrodon, Rockruff, Togekiss, Roserade, Glaceon, Milotic.

After taking a look at the moves they had mastered, it's no wonder they're a champion team; they're incredibly strong.

Cynthia had them lower their auras, then explained the situation to them before following Gengar to the vegetable garden.

Cynthia held a Lilyroot doll in one hand and had Gengar hold her other arm, while Gengar's other hand was facing upwards, with the vegetable basket naturally hanging on his elbow. It was as if she was walking on flat ground in the air, her posture perfectly that of a noblewoman.

Watching Gengar's actions, Fang Yan shook his head with a headache. It seemed he had to control Gengar and stop letting it watch strange videos.

Cynthia followed Gengar to the vegetable garden, a lush green expanse. Unable to identify what she needed, she asked Gengar, who patted its chest and assured her that it would provide it.

Then Gengar floated to the vegetable garden and pointed to the vegetables it needed.

"Kou Jie—"

This is delicious.

Seeing this, Cynthia opened the wooden gate to the vegetable garden, went inside, and started picking vegetables, mimicking Gengar's movements.

This was a novel experience for her. Wearing a trench coat, she gathered her long, golden hair and then kept picking vegetables—one kind, two kinds, three kinds…

Just as she was about to put the cauliflower in her hand into the vegetable basket, she discovered that the basket was already full.

"this……"

"The vegetables are ready... but no."

Before she could finish speaking, Fang Yan's voice came over. Fang Yan had been standing outside the vegetable garden at some point, looking at the bunch of greens in her hand and the full basket of vegetables, remaining silent for a long time.

"I'm sorry, I got a little carried away for a moment."

Cynthia held a cauliflower in her hands, her cheeks slightly flushed, feeling a little embarrassed for the champion.

"hiss……"

Fang Yan looked at the huge vegetable basket filled with greens, and the bare patch of vegetables in the garden, then glanced at the bunch of cauliflower in Cynthia's hand.

My tooth started to hurt for a while.

After glancing at Cynthia's expression one last time, Fang Yan laughed, indicating that everything was alright.

"It's alright. These vegetables need to be picked anyway, otherwise they won't taste good. Let's eat these tonight. If we can't finish them, we'll give them to Gengar; it has a big appetite."

"Jie?! Σ(゚∀゚ノ)ノ"

Me? !

Gengar glanced at it, then nodded.

"Goblin!!"

Upon hearing this, Cynthia suddenly turned to look at the vegetable garden. Fang Yan, seeing this, quickly told her to come out and stop her from disturbing her vegetable garden any longer.

Cynthia came out with a regretful look, handed the vegetables to Fang Yan, and watched him leave with the basket and the vegetables in his hand. She felt a little bored for a moment.

She glanced around the backyard and had Gengar show her around.

Back at the pens, Fang Yan had just finished preparing the meal.

"Cynthia, are you planning to eat in the backyard or in the kitchen?"

"The backyard, perhaps."

After glancing at the view in the backyard and the Pokémon, Cynthia spoke.

Fang Yan nodded, then had Gengar and the others move the table and chairs outside, while he carried the food out himself.

Considering that Cynthia might not be used to eating rice, Fang Yan made her a bowl of fragrant soup noodles.

After distributing the energy cubes, Fang Yan returned to the dining table and sat down.

Cynthia held chopsticks in her hand, looked at the food in front of her, sniffed it gently, her beautiful eyes curved into a smile, and then she clapped her hands together.

"I'm starting to eat."

Then she lowered her head to eat the noodles, and with one bite, her eyebrows and eyes curved into crescent moons.

Seeing this, Fang Yan nodded smugly. As expected of his great-aunt's recipe, it lived up to its reputation.

He then lowered his head and began to eat his food.

The two were quietly enjoying their meal, with the occasional sounds of Pokémon arguing and the distant cry of Stark in the sky. Cynthia finished her soup and took the tissue Fang Yan handed her to wipe the sweat from her forehead.

Thank you for your hospitality.

Cynthia's gentle voice rang out, bringing a refreshing breeze to the still somewhat hot evening.

"We have not been hospitable."

Fang Yan had Gengar finish the remaining food, then took Momonini back to the kitchen to wash the dishes.

Cynthia, led by Lilyroot Doll, arrived at the swing, sat on it, and Garchomp gently rocked the swing.

Not far away, the three Mighty were wrestling after their meal. Lucario watched for a while, then went up and joined in, taking the opportunity to instruct the three Mighty.

Meanwhile, Gengar was asking Togekiss for advice.

As dusk settled, the evening breeze ruffled Cynthia's golden hair. She sat on the swing, gazing at everything in the distance.

"Garuda, it seems like it's been a long time since we've ridden a swing."

Cynthia spoke softly.

A look of reminiscence appeared in the eyes of the Garchomp behind him, and then he nodded gently.

The little girl who used to love riding the swing has now become the strongest trainer in the Sinnoh region and has ascended to the champion's throne.

"Laji?"

The lily root doll in her arms curiously raised its head and looked at her.

Why did you stop riding the swing later?

Sensing the Lily Root Doll's emotions and guessing its problem, Cynthia gently brushed aside the leaves on its head, speaking in a dialect that was just like Fang Yan's, and said, "Because you've grown up, and you have responsibilities to bear."

"Laji?"

The lily root doll didn't understand and frowned in confusion.

Cynthia smiled and said, "So, Lilyroot, grow up slowly. You have a trainer who dotes on you."

After saying that, Cynthia had Garchomp push the swing hard. Then, the black-clad, blonde woman swayed back and forth on the swing, rocking back and forth, swaying the child in her arms and swaying back to her own childhood.

After washing the dishes, Fang Yan returned to the backyard and saw Cynthia swinging on a swing with the help of Garchomp.

Her smile was breathtaking, but it also carried a hint of weariness.

Seeing this, Fang Yan chuckled, then went to the swing and sat down under the tree.

Upon hearing Fang Yan's voice, Cynthia stopped swinging, but the two did not exchange a word.

One person sat under a tree, leaning against it, while another sat on a swing under the tree, holding a Lilyroot doll in their arms, with a Garchomp standing beside them.

Just like that, I quietly let the evening breeze blow and watched the stars fill the entire sky.

The other Pokémon gradually looked over, and in just a short while, they were already fighting each other.

Monini lay on Fangyan's lap and slowly drifted off to sleep.

"Monini..."

Monini's ramblings brought the two of them back to their senses.

Looking at Monini, who was fast asleep on Fang Yan's lap, Cynthia smiled gently.

"I haven't felt this relaxed in a long time."

Cynthia said that since becoming the Sinnoh champion, it has been a long time since she has been able to quietly watch the stars with her favorite Pokémon like this. In her memory, she only feels this relaxed when she meets with her best friend. Although she often skips work, she is always tense. Today, in this breeding house she visited for the first time, she felt the comfort of her childhood.

Without saying a word, just sit quietly with your Pokémon.

Cynthia glanced at the man, and a smile involuntarily crept onto her lips.

She spent less than a day with him, but she felt very comfortable. He didn't try to strike up a conversation, just like before, giving her plenty of time to enjoy her own time.

Fang Yan was also experiencing for the first time that reality is different from anime. The champion must have a lot of things to deal with, such as fighting criminal organizations and sometimes having to be wary of mythical beasts causing trouble. It is definitely not as easy and carefree as in anime.

In my past life, my dialect was the same. My boss kept making empty promises to me, and I was pressured to get married when I got home. I had almost no time to myself.

So he didn't disturb Cynthia, but simply enjoyed this hard-won time that was all alone with her.

"Since you're exhausted, why not completely relax and take a few days to rest?"

Fang Yan wiped the drool from Monini's mouth and then said.

"Um?"

Cynthia looked at him with a puzzled expression.

"My initial goal was simply to make sure all the Pokémon here could live happily, which is why I named it Paradise. Later, I met a little girl, and I realized that people also need comfort and places to escape to."

He then slowly recounted Shana's story, finally turning to Cynthia: "So, from that moment on, I decided that the breeding center I opened would not be a breeding center for humans, nor a breeding center for Pokémon, but a breeding center for both humans and Pokémon, and a paradise for both."

"What I mean is, you can stay here for a few days and relax. You skip work all the time, don't you? And we also have room rentals available."

Fang Yan laughed, then picked up Monini and prepared to take it back to the room to sleep.

His words to Cynthia were sincere.

I genuinely hope she can relax, and I also genuinely want her to stay a few more days.

"Kou Jie?! (゚⊿゚)ツ"

Do you offer room rentals here? I didn't know that.

Gengar was puzzled by these words, its gaze shifting back and forth between Fang Yan and Cynthia.

"Ugh—⊙∀⊙!"

Oh yes, we offer that service.

Watching Fang Yan's disappearing figure, Cynthia fell into thought. Then she handed the Lilyroot plushie to Gengar, looked at Garchomp and Lucario, and smiled as she saw their unwavering support no matter what she did.

The smile stunned Gengar and Mighty, and Gengar, like a boiling kettle, darted around wildly like a burst balloon.

There is a bright moon in the sky, and a beautiful woman on the ground.

Unfortunately, the dialect couldn't appreciate this scene.

"How arrogant! Who does he think he is? I'm Cynthia, the Sinnoh Champion!"

Cynthia stood up, recalled Lucario and the others into their Poké Balls, then climbed onto Garchomp's back and flew away into the distance.

After Fang Yan put Monini back on the bed, he returned to the backyard but did not see Cynthia.

"Have they already left?"

Fang Yan chuckled, then sighed. He went back to his room to take a shower, and then went to the backyard to tidy up the remaining things. When he got to the area where they had afternoon tea, he was stunned to find that Cynthia's high heels were still neatly arranged under the chairs.

"Kou Jie?"

Gengar, seeing that Fangyan had stopped moving, curiously floated over, still holding a broom in its hand.

Just as Fang Yan was wondering if Cynthia had dropped her high heels, a sound came from the distant sky, and then Cynthia landed in the backyard on Garchomp's back.

On its feet were trimmed bouncy rabbit slippers, and Garchomp carried a suitcase on its back.

She jumped down and smiled at Fang Yan.

"You're right, then I'll skip work for another while."

Seeing this, Fang Yan suppressed her joy and said, "Welcome!"

Are you happy that I can stay?

Hearing the clear, cold voice, the dialect was spoken without hesitation.

"certainly."

"What about Gengar?"

"Damn it!!!"

Fang Yan then tugged at Gengar's tail.

"Whoosh~"

"Kuchiki~"

"Gengar is so cute, where is my room?"
