Chapter 93 Superman's Speed
Chapter 93 Superman's Speed
As Superman received cheers and gratitude from the crowd, an elderly man, who appeared to be frail, pushed through the throng and grasped Superman's sleeve with trembling hands. The old man's eyes were filled with anxiety and expectation, and his voice, though weak, was brimming with urgency:
"Superman, there are other escaped supervillains wreaking havoc in New York City, and innocent people are still suffering. Could you please help defeat them?"
The old man's words were like a pebble thrown into a calm lake, creating ripples that spread outwards.
Upon hearing this, the crowd's emotions were reignited. They echoed his sentiments, some with fear in their voices, others with desperate hope: "Yes, Superman, please help us!"
Although the Lamplighters trio has been dealt with, New York is far from peaceful tonight. Even if you escape here, you might encounter other supervillains on your way home.
Moreover, most of the people present have relatives and friends living in New York, so even if they don't consider themselves, they have to consider others.
Now that the strongest force on Earth has come, why not cling to them? Are we supposed to wait until they're gone and then come back to call for help when we're in danger? This time it's a success that Superman has come, but who knows if we can still call for Superman next time? It's not like we're Lois Lane, who can call for help every time.
"We need you, Superman! You are our only hope! The strongest superhero!"
"Oh, oh, oh~" He waved his hand, feigning surprise, but the smile on his lips betrayed his true feelings. Superman said...
"There are other superheroes in New York, and they are all very powerful superheroes. I believe they will be able to handle this incident properly."
Although he didn't really care about the other superheroes, Superman was still wary of the companies behind them. Even if he didn't consider them, he had to consider Batman, Bruce Wayne. He had already angered Bruce by trying to steal Iron Man's mantle, and if he went and provoked other superhero agencies, Bruce would definitely go ballistic.
Upon hearing this, the old man frowned, a hint of urgency and worry in his expression. He looked at Superman, his voice trembling slightly:
"But Mr. Superman, it might take other heroes a long time to deal with these supervillains. In the process, many more innocent people will get hurt. We need you; only you can quickly resolve this crisis and protect us from harm."
"Yeah! Superman! Only you can quickly resolve the current crisis in New York. You're the world's strongest superhero! Compared to you, all other superheroes are utterly inferior! I'm leaving the Iron Man fan club and joining the Superman fan club! From now on, I'm your die-hard fan!"
A girl shouted loudly at Superman.
"Don't say that~ We're all superheroes, working for world peace. Tony is a good person too, he's just busy today."
He couldn't suppress it, he simply couldn't suppress it. This smile was harder to suppress than a missile. Superman looked at the girl who spoke with a big smile on his face. The people of New York are so nice. They are much more sensible than the people of Metropolis and Gotham.
A mother hugged her child tightly, saying anxiously, "Yes, Superman, we've heard about the deeds of other heroes, but we believe that no one can defeat supervillains as quickly and effectively as you. You are our hope! In this critical moment, only you can save us!"
The crowd echoed this sentiment, praising Superman in various ways, describing him as if he were the reincarnation of Jesus, and asking for help to save people by saying nice things, since it didn't cost them any money.
Amidst the cheers of "Handsome guy!" from the crowd, Superman gradually lost himself, forgetting all of Bruce's advice. Looking at the expectant eyes of the crowd, Superman waved his hand and declared righteously...
"Since everyone has put it that way, I can't refuse. I will arrest those escaped prisoners and stop all of this."
After saying this, amidst cheers, Superman spread his arms and slowly floated in the air, glancing at the crowd.
"Don't worry, no villain can escape the judgment of justice."
After saying this, Superman accelerated and disappeared into the sky.
Peter Parker, with his signature spiderweb-swinging style, traverses the New York skyline, searching for either Xiao Xian or Tomie.
Peter's movements were fluid and graceful, his spiderwebs like a weaver's thread, precisely attaching themselves between the buildings. Suddenly, an ominous premonition struck, his spider-sense blaring, making Peter's heart race. But before he could react, an immensely powerful force had already immobilized him in mid-air.
Someone has captured him? Peter thought in utter shock.
Shocked as he was, Peter instinctively retaliated. His fist, like lightning, struck the abdomen of the man who had grabbed him. Such a blow would have been enough to pierce through an ordinary person, let alone a wall.
However, when Peter's fist struck the person holding him, it was as if he had hit a block of hard iron. Peter felt a sharp pain in his wrist, but the person holding him did not move an inch, and his uniform did not even wrinkle.
Peter now realized just how powerful he was facing. His mind was filled with disbelief; this power and indestructible body exceeded all his expectations. Even the Thing from the Fantastic Four wouldn't be completely unaffected by this attack.
Looking up, Peter saw the "S" logo he often saw on TV and Superman's face.
"."
"Aren't you a Metropolis superhero?" Peter thought to himself, on the verge of tears. But before Peter could speak, Superman had already used his incredible speed to bring Peter to Bucky's side.
Seeing this, Bucky immediately swung his powerful mechanical arm and launched a fierce attack on Superman. Each punch carried the force of a storm, enough to tear steel apart. However, against Superman, all his efforts seemed futile.
With a mere flick of his wrist, Superman not only firmly grasped Bucky's mechanical arm, but also, to Bucky's astonishment, easily twisted it into a pretzel.
Then Superman grabbed Bucky like an eagle snatching a chick. Although Peter and Bucky both possessed superhuman strength and abilities, in Superman's hands, they seemed to have completely lost the ability to resist.
Then, Superman carried them across the New York skyline, flying rapidly towards the police station. During this process, Peter and Bucky were unable to break free and could only passively follow Superman. The two unfortunate brothers exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with helplessness.
Upon arriving at the police station, Superman, as if displaying his trophies, handed Peter and Bucky over to the officers, drugged them, and handcuffed them. Inside the station, Peter saw a large group of arrested supervillains, densely packed together.
Just half a minute ago, Peter was wandering around in the hallway, and now he's locked up in handcuffs. At this rate, Peter thinks it won't be long before all the escaped supervillains are caught by Superman.
