Chapter 243 Peeves, Andy, and Dumbledore
Chapter 243 Peeves, Andy, and Dumbledore
Time passed by second by second, and in the blink of an eye, it was Halloween 1992.
During this time, Andy finally experienced what it meant to be passionate. Wherever Andy went, someone would always pull him aside to ask him how to use the Guardian Charm.
At first, Andy was able to patiently respond, but soon he became extremely annoyed by those people.
Focus your attention, think of happy memories, and then recite the incantation...
At most, add a gesture of waving a wand.
Even though there are only four steps, and you've repeated the same thing over and over again, those little wizards keep asking you the same questions, as if they don't remember anything you said before.
Sometimes Andy even felt like taking out his wand and giving them a good whack.
At times like these, Andy particularly admired Snape's way of handling things—because no young wizard dared to ask Snape a question.
Andy understood.
If Andy wanted to become a professor, Snape was his role model.
Only when all the little wizards are afraid of you will they dare not bother you with those silly questions.
Snape was intelligent!
Unfortunately, Andy is currently just a student.
So Andy had no choice but to hide.
In the principal's office, where every request is made, things have changed.
Andy has been copying and reading books here all this time, and sometimes he goes to the practice room to practice magic.
When the magic book, notebook, and quill fell to the ground, Andy breathed a sigh of relief—the last book was finally finished copying.
The Principal's Office instance... is now complete.
Andy put down the book in his hand, put the notebook and quill into the bag of the Space Extension Charm, stood up, patted his bottom, looked around, and then walked out of the Room of Requirement without looking back.
Today is Halloween, and the decorations in the castle are much the same as last year.
Pumpkin lanterns and bats filled the corridors, and ghosts roamed in droves. Peeves, in particular, enjoyed unimaginable privileges today—he could frighten any passing young wizards at will without incurring any punishment.
As Andy walked towards the auditorium, the aroma of roasted pumpkin wafting through the castle lifted his spirits considerably.
The festive atmosphere at Hogwarts is very strong.
whoosh-
A water balloon came hurtling towards Andy's head.
Andy casually waved his hand, and the water balloon veered off course and slammed against the wall of the corridor with a "plop".
"Hey! Look who's here? Isn't this the famous Andy Collins?"
Pee-Pee was clearly not going to let Andy off easily; it had been waiting for Andy here for a long time.
"Let's see how many you can dodge!" Pikachu floated out of a pumpkin lantern, carrying a bunch of water balloons in his arms.
Andy raised an eyebrow. "Mischievous devil, if I were you, I definitely wouldn't do that!"
"Are you scared, Collins? You can try using your Patronus Charm," Peeves taunted.
After saying that, Pipi Ghost raised the water balloon and was about to throw it at Andy.
Andy quickly pulled out his wand, pointed it at Peeves, and used the Confusion Charm.
Pipi Ghost froze, the entire ghost standing there stunned.
"Well done, Andy!" Several passing wizards quickly gave Andy a thumbs up.
They've suffered under these horrible ghosts for far too long.
Andy greeted them and then turned his attention to Peeves.
As is well known, ghosts cannot touch objects.
But Pipi Ghost is clearly an exception.
Having finally subdued Peeves, Andy prepared to take the opportunity to study the ghost's structure.
Andy raised his wand and pointed it at Peeves.
"Collins, Peeves has brought us a lot of joy." An old voice sounded behind Andy.
What a coincidence.
"Good evening, Headmaster." Andy put away his wand.
Dumbledore glanced at Peeves, then simply waved his hand, and Peeves, like a deflated balloon, flew away with a "whoosh."
"Headmaster, Peeves seems a little different from other ghosts," Andy asked curiously.
Now that we've encountered Dumbledore... instead of racking our brains to figure it out ourselves, we might as well ask Dumbledore for advice directly.
Self-research may not yield results, but consulting Dumbledore will certainly provide the most accurate information.
"Yes! Peeves isn't a ghost."
Dumbledore stated frankly, "Peeves has existed since the founding of Hogwarts. Peeves is a psychic energy, not a mark left by the dead..."
At this point, Dumbledore winked at Andy, "Collins, you should know a lot about how Peeves came to be."
Andy was somewhat surprised. "Was it the students' emotions and the magic of the castle that together gave birth to Peeves?"
Dumbledore explained: "Scholars generally believe that Peeves is a spirit born from unconscious behavior... particularly the unconscious behavior of the oppressed."
"For centuries, Hogwarts students have been under considerable pressure, and that's how Peeves came to be."
Andy suddenly realized.
When students are under pressure, they develop a rebellious mentality.
However, due to factors such as school rules, discipline, and professors, they dare not resist this pressure.
And so, the mischievous Pikachu was born.
This is very similar to the principle behind the birth of the Obscurus.
Suppressed...
Seeing Andy's thoughtful expression, Dumbledore smiled and said, "Yes, when the mind suppresses magic, the two will gradually merge together, thus giving birth to a new magical life."
Andy asked, "Headmaster, does magic originate from life?"
"You could say that."
Dumbledore, unusually, didn't play the riddle-maker. He spoke very frankly: "Collins, you should know that I studied Obscurus when I was young... Magic originates from life... It is the purest life energy."
Andy nodded thoughtfully.
Magic originates from life, and once it is infused with spiritual power, it evolves from pure 'life energy' into 'a sentient being'.
The fundamental essence that constitutes all things in the universe...
Originally, this was just Andy's own conclusion, but Dumbledore's words completely sealed that conclusion.
At this moment, Andy completely abandoned the white magic version of Obscurus—even though it was very powerful.
"I understand!" Andy said.
Dumbledore smiled and nodded. "Let's go, the Halloween dinner is about to begin."
On the way to the auditorium, Andy continued to ask, "Principal, if happy emotions can nurture guardian spirits, what about negative emotions?"
Andy's imagination ran wild.
If I could create a dark magic version of a guardian deity,
That means it's three against one.
"Positive emotions can be divided into many types, and happiness is just one of them... The same goes for negative emotions."
Dumbledore looked at Andy and slowly said, "If your heart is filled with intense killing intent..."
