Chapter 296 Chimera!!!

Gil Xavier's speed lived up to his status as an internationally renowned athlete; he still ran very fast even while dragging someone along.

However polite Helbo may be, he cannot hide his identity as the founder of black magic; his spells never take into account others.

Despite the basilisks' chaotic rampage, they could only cause some disruption to Ryan, and could not stop his progress.

The magic spell Apparition flashed repeatedly, and Ryan, wearing his fiery armor, showed no intention of stopping to fight back. He sent messages to Dumbledore while trying to switch to invisibility to escape.

"He wouldn't fight at all, he just kept trying to leave, and I really couldn't stop him." Helbo said softly, "He's really not like a young man. Aren't young people supposed to be full of drive? Why doesn't he try to challenge himself?"

Even so, he didn't hold back and showed his true skills.

Perhaps it was because he himself had set up the anti-Apparition spell, thus knowing its flaws, he stepped forward and blocked Ryan's path.

He waved a wand he had somehow acquired, and halos of dark green light rippled around his body, adding a layer of negative emotions—corruption, depravity, madness, bloodlust, chaos—to his thoughts.

A faint buzzing sound filled Ryan's mind, and a surge of intense anger welled up within him, his desire to fight to the death growing stronger with each passing moment.

Defeat him head-on!

Defeat him fair and square!

He's just Helbo! He's just a legendary dark wizard! He's just the patriarch of dark magic! Let's take him down!

kill him!

kill him!

kill him!

Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! Kill him! —!

Helbo smiled, raised his wand, and a terrifying wave of energy gathered.

A ghastly green light erupted from the wand.

In terms of the concept of death, his Killing Curse is not as close to death as Voldemort's, but in terms of power and range, this ghastly green light has a much larger destructive range than the green lights of Voldemort's Killing Curse.

Perhaps due to the different fighting habits of ancient Greece, people of that era preferred to overwhelm opponents with sheer numbers, while modern wizards' duels are more refined, and the spells they use do not have such massive destructive power.

This attack spanned thousands of meters, turning half the sky a dark green. Combined with the serpent monster hovering in the air, it truly gave the impression of a demon god descending to earth.

Of course, he certainly deserves the title! Every story has a prototype; perhaps it was his descendants, the so-called dark wizards, who learned the dark magic he passed down and were witnessed before the Middle Ages, thus forming the prototypes in wizarding stories. These prototypes were further refined by some imaginative individuals into the figures of demons in mythology.

From this perspective, he was the first and most accomplished master of all the demons of hell.

"How did you manage to break free from the influence of negative emotions?"

Helbo muttered to himself. Ryan before him had clearly been provoked, his fighting spirit and killing intent stirred, yet in that instant, he had somehow regained his senses. He had used that special illusion technique to escape danger—

"The magical shock just now seemed to come from his sleeve—" He rolled up a hurricane and placed it in the little wizard's hand. The hurricane charm, which could only be used as a fan, was already in his hand. It already had the rudiments of a natural hurricane.

The hurricane billowed his robes, and he recognized the newcomer, who wore a bracelet on his wrist: "So it's those little elves. No wonder the Anti-Apparition Charm didn't work with their special bloodline magic."

"Do you know how the oldest magic was born?" He seemed to be getting into the spirit of a lesson: "Long, long ago, before the concept of wizards even existed, in the West, this history predates Athens and Greece, even the time of Solomon—it predates everything that can be attributed to civilization. In the East, this history is called the 'Great Wilderness of Mountains and Seas,' with 'Great Wilderness' referring to the rampant floods and desolation. At that time, some people with extraordinary abilities discovered magical creatures and began to think about how they could use their magical abilities like these creatures. This is the origin of wizards—the earliest magic was learned from magical creatures."

"And then?" Ryan's eyes were still bloodshot, but his tone was no longer affected by anger.

Regarding Helbo's theory of the origins of wizards, there is little research within the wizarding community; only a few wizards who study history have offered relatively mainstream views. Both Eastern and Western myths exist about a great flood, and his speculation is that before the emergence of any verifiable civilization, a widespread flood occurred on Earth, causing rampant devastation, widespread death and destruction, and leaving behind a desolate wasteland. Perhaps only after that did various regions build water conservancy projects, establish civilizations, ignite the flame of civilization, and pass it on. And wizards, perhaps, have accompanied civilization to the present day.

But why would Herbo bring this up at this time? He couldn't understand. He had just used animal medicine to calm his anger, but that didn't mean he was safe.

The attack just now nearly pierced through his defenses. If he hadn't moved away in time, he would be dead or at least have a sliver of health left.

"Next, the wizards discovered that the magic of magical creatures was too monotonous and too difficult to learn. Ultimately, they weren't the same species. So two schools of thought emerged. One school studied magic unique to wizards, which is the mainstream today. The other school—not the mainstream now—only the Animagus art depicts what this school once looked like."

As Helbo spoke, his voice grew increasingly eerie, as if different creatures were speaking through the same human body: "That is, we believe that since the bloodline and body of a wizard have limitations, then one should refine different creatures to strengthen oneself!"

His snake-like eyes were dark and cold, like those of a serpent king.

Its claws are as sharp as knives, chilling even the werewolves who boast of their strength.

Gray wings spread out behind him, like a spider stretching its limbs. The origin of those wings was inexplicable, yet they carried an air of gloom and decay.

Its skin was covered with a layer of downy fur, which stirred up wind and thunder—that was the aura of a thunderbird.

Flames encircled the gray wings, and deep within the gray lay a dazzling gold and red—fire from the phoenix.

Its deformed head resembled a dragon's head, covered with sharp teeth, making one believe that the monster before them could spew forth scalding dragon flames with every breath.

A menacing scorpion tail appeared behind him. The scorpion tail looked familiar; it had once belonged to a magical creature considered extremely dangerous.

A grotesque, twisted, yet strangely beautiful creature appeared in the sky.

At this moment, Halbo showed no trace of humanity; his body had expanded to over three meters tall, and his voice, a blend of various tones, carried a grand, divine quality: "You have sent your message. So, when will the legend of this world arrive?"

Chimera!

Faced with a wizard from ancient Greece, Ryan naturally thought of the famous Frankenstein's monster from mythology.

Then Helpo asked, pointing to the carelessly tossed-to-the-ground wand: "Mr. Helpo, throwing things from a height is immoral and beneath your dignity."

Helbo was clearly stunned for a moment, unable to keep up with Ryan's train of thought.
