Chapter 1007 Why are there so many things in one universe that can destroy the entire multiverse?
When Peter excitedly ran to the group of Mr. Fantastic, hundreds of Reed Richards had just passed their first major resolution: they would establish the Reed Council to brainstorm and create a better future together.
Peter felt as if he had witnessed some historic moment, but considering that theoretically, if Doom hadn't won after the Secret War, everyone would have lost their memories of the Secret War, and it seemed that Reed and the others wouldn't remember what happened here either.
On the other hand, if Doom wins, people will be even less likely to remember what happened here.
So Peter told the Reeds about his discovery after only a little thought, and the Reeds' unanimous reaction was astonishment.
Only Reed 616, who had always known about Peter's time-traveling abilities, knew what had happened. He stood up and asked Peter, "You mean, you can tear open countless rifts leading to the transcendent realm? In other words, theoretically, as long as we can create an outer shell similar to the Cosmic Cube, we can create an infinite number of Cosmic Cubes?"
"Theoretically, yes, but considering that the essence of the Cosmic Cube is to open a rift that transcends realms and enters our universe, and that the transcendent's crossing created molecular humans, I think we still need to be cautious. That's why I came to you. I need the smartest minds in the universe to advise me and make sure there won't be any problems."
In theory, Peter could simply "go to the parents." Since he's already opened the path to the Beyond Realm, he could naturally go directly to the Beyond Realm to find the Beyond Gods to deal with the Beyonders' problems. However, Peter's wariness of the Beyond Gods is even greater than that of the Beyonders. If the Beyonders are just mischievous kids, then the Beyond Gods are wielders of weapons in the Marvel multiverse.
It's important to know that Secret Wars 2015 was orchestrated by the Beyonders. They destroyed the entire multiverse simply to contain a threat for which there was no concrete evidence (although it did eventually emerge), completely disregarding life within the multiverse.
They are less trustworthy than the Beyonders, even less trustworthy than Reed, which is why Peter came to Reed to determine how big the rift should be, so as to create a weapon to fight against Doom.
"Okay, friends, no need to panic. This is Spider-Man from my universe. He has some special talents that I've been researching for years. Relax, I have firsthand data."
Reed took a deep breath and decided to begin studying the rift Peter had opened, with his counterparts from different universes, to investigate how many cosmic cubes and how large a spatial rift this universe could withstand.
Just then, Loki 616, who was serving as the temporary secretary to the Beyonder, came over for a visit. Seeing the busy Reeds, he became curious and asked what was happening. He then looked at Peter with great shock. However, he hadn't forgotten his mission, and from somewhere, he pulled out a silver lighter-like object.
"Based on my investigation, this item is most suitable for Reed Richards. Although I don't know which Reed should use it, it looks like you guys can handle it." Loki said, handing the item to Reed 616: "This is the Ultimate Eraser, an incredibly powerful artifact collected by the Beyonder. The Beyonder had previously placed restrictions on it, but now that he's gone, the restrictions are naturally gone."
Reed, seemingly unconcerned, accepted the Ultimate Eraser while asking, "What are the limitations?"
"Power limit: This thing has no upper limit to its power; theoretically, it could wipe out our entire multiverse."
Upon hearing this, Richard nearly dropped the Ultimate Eraser, his hand trembling slightly. Fortunately, being a rubber man, he could shapeshift and catch it. He let out a sigh of relief, looking at the little gadget with lingering fear: "This thing can destroy the entire multiverse, that's outrageous! Such a powerful weapon—"
"Of course, there is one in every universe, and it is very likely that it is lying in some corner waiting for someone to pick it up."
Loki's words stunned Reed, who stared in disbelief at the lighter in his hand, took a deep breath, and then carefully put it away. He had never felt his universe so fragile, but then he suddenly remembered that this thing wasn't even number one on the entire exchange list, and abruptly stopped: "What about the other things—"
"Other things? I'm not too sure. But destroying a universe, or even many, should be no problem." Loki added after speaking, "That's quite common, isn't it? The World Tree canopy in Asgard can cover the entire multiverse, and almost every universe has an Asgard."
Reed felt a chill run down his spine upon hearing this, but Loki remained unfazed, merely giving Peter a wink. Peter then left a rift leading to the Transcendental Realm behind him and immediately followed. Once outside, Peter saw Loki, who was feigning profundity and melancholy.
"So, if you don't give up the mysterious power, you can directly create a Cosmic Cube?"
"If I could create a container, yes."
"But—you can be that container yourself, right? Become a living Cosmic Cube, just like Doom, this mortal." Loki laughed, while Peter continued, "Captain Universe's power is limited to this universe. If I went back to my world, I probably wouldn't be able to withstand the Cosmic Cube's power; I'd die instantly."
"But our universe also has this power, right? You can continue doing this. You can get the Cosmic Cube. You can create the whole world according to your own ideas and make the whole world a better place—according to your vision."
Peter thought for a moment, then asked Loki, "What's the difference between that and Doom?"
'
Loki thought about it seriously for a moment: "Your ideal world is different from his?"
"No, that's not it. The problem is that one person's ideal world, the world he thinks is better, is not necessarily the same as the world that others think is better. Doom believes he has a responsibility to create a better world, but in Latvia, he's essentially reinventing the wheel."
Peter explained his reasons for not wanting to do so: "A truly better world is not a fictional utopia created by one person who thinks it is ideal, perfect, and that everything operates according to their own expectations. Rather, it should be an ideal world that everyone believes is better and is willing to strive for. I believe that if a better future is not recognized by everyone, or at least by the majority, then this better world is meaningless."
Upon hearing this, Loki let out an "Aha!" Peter then looked at Loki and asked, "By the way, were you going to Malekith's side as a spy?"
Do you think I'd tell you?
"Anyway, the Beyonder will erase all memories related to the Secret War."
