Chapter 501 Positive and Negative

When the Kryptonian army visited Tamaran, the contact between the two civilizations did not begin with direct violence.

"Your father, King Maiander, was a seasoned politician."

Even though the convergence of the two universes has put everyone in grave danger, Jor-El is still willing to take the time to explain the first and last contact between the Kryptonians and the Tamaran peoples years ago: "When I came to collect a debt from you Tamarans, I learned from your father about what happened at the Cosmic Round Table, and more about the truth behind the destruction of Krypton."

This was the first time Starfire had heard of the Cosmic Round Table Council, led by the Guardians, betraying Krypton, but what she didn't expect was that her own father would be involved.

A diplomatic organization ostensibly dedicated to maintaining peace in the universe, but deep down it harbors dark secrets and engages in inhumane acts.

"Don't misunderstand, your father did not vote in favor at that meeting."

Jor-El can be certain of this, because apart from Queen Gandernor, who proposed the premature destruction of Krypton, no one voted in favor.

However, Krypton's core crisis accelerated and erupted after a period of time.

Not opposing means supporting – this is the true attitude of the entire parliament towards selling out Krypton.

King Myander of Tamaran was also among them, but his explanation was that, as the king of Tamaran, he was someone who dared not have his own opinions at all.

Simply put, compared to the Senagan Eagleman Empire, the magical planet Lann, and Queen Ganderor who ruled over dozens of star systems, the Tamaran people's strength was insufficient to justify him expressing any opinion.

Joe Al accepted this and then proposed a collaboration with Maiander.

From the moment he arrived in the Vega system, Jor El realized that there was something far more valuable than collecting debts from the Tamaran people.

For example, there are studies on the physiological functions of the Tamaran aliens.

This creature can absorb ultraviolet energy and then release radiation like the sun, which is exactly what the Kryptonians lack.

Joe Ayr believed that a well-trained or modified Tamaran should be able to convert absorbed ultraviolet radiation into different forms of stellar radiation.

The bodily mechanisms of this radiant energy also include yellow sunlight and red sunlight.

This means that the Tamaran people could be both a threat and an asset to the Kryptonians.

However, most of the Tamaran people at that time were extremely weak in ability and emotionally weak, and had no potential for militarization.

So Jor-El thought of another possibility: if the advantages of the Tamarans and the Kryptonians were combined, then the Kryptonians would be invincible in the universe.

All of this requires extremely advanced genetic technology, which happens to be what Jor-El and the Kryptonians excel at.

Benefiting from the legacy of the Golden Age before the Replicant Wars, Kryptonians have a genetic advantage that surpasses that of all other races in the universe.

Jor-El has not just built an army on Krypton, but a complex super-military conglomerate.

He reached an agreement with Myander—Tamaran would send a portion of its people to the Kryptonians for gentle research.

Meanwhile, some Kryptonians will also be sent to ensure the safety of Tamaran during the impending cosmic chaos.

The Kryptonians and Tamarans could even achieve a closer cooperation in the next few hundred years.

Among the first group of people to be transferred according to the plan were a large number of people with differing political views, as well as Xinghuo's sister, Heihuo.

"Don't associate research with inhumane live human experiments."

Joe Al stated bluntly: "Your sister conducted the experiment with the mutual consent of both parties, and you have seen the results of the experiment."

Blackfire's current reversion to his ancestral form after regaining his powers proves that this was a win-win deal. If this research can continue, both Kryptonians and Tamarans will benefit from it for countless years to come.

But the experiment almost ended there, because "then, the Guardians arrived."

With Joe Al's story concluded, what happened next is something that all civilizations in the universe already know.

The Kryptonian army and the Green Lantern Corps of the Guardians clashed in an epic war that lasted for a long time until the Green Lantern Corps was completely defeated and Tamaran was destroyed.

The order of events may differ from what most people think.

It wasn't that the destruction of Tamaran came after the Green Lantern Corps' defeat, but rather that the destruction of Tamaran finally gave the Guardians a reason to retreat.

The terrible consequences of cooperation between the Tamarans and Kryptonians on this planet are completely unacceptable to the Guardians.

So there are only two possible outcomes: either the Kryptonians are defeated and Tamaran returns to the Green Lantern Corps' control, or the Kryptonians are too powerful, but they absolutely cannot obtain Tamaran!

Whether you want to believe it or not.

Back then, before Jor-El had retrieved the ancient Kryptonian warship suspended in the sky from the Phantom Space, a lot of extra effort would have been needed to make Tamaran explode from the inside out: "The Kryptonian Legion did not destroy Tamaran back then. In that war in which the Green Lantern Legion almost mobilized all its forces, we did not have the spare capacity or the motivation to do so."

At the time, Jor-El viewed the Tamaran as a possession that could make Kryptonians transcend the mundane. Who would intentionally damage their own possession?

So, if we're asking why Tamaran suddenly imploded and was destroyed, we have to ask the other party involved in the war: the Guardians of the Universe.

"Impossible! You're lying!"

The grief of her sister's murder terrified Xinghuo, and then she heard about her beloved father, which made it even harder for her to accept.

How could her father possibly have made peace with these Kryptonian invaders during their first contact with them!

Not to mention making a deal with the Kryptonians to allow them to study the Tamaran's biological genes!

"You're the one who destroyed Tamaran!"

"You can also think of it this way: the destruction of Tamaran was indeed caused by my visit."

Seeing Starfire, who was completely out of control and choking with sobs, Joe El accepted all the accusations, but his words remained resolute: "But the destruction of Tamaran was never what I wanted. I didn't lie, because I never lie to my family."

"Family?!" Starfire's emerald green eyes filled with tears. Hearing such a word uttered by this heartless madman, Joe El, was even more unacceptable to her. She didn't want to have anything to do with someone like Joe El: "I'm not your family!"

No, you are.

Joe Al's composure stemmed from his habit of calmly accepting facts and then using those facts as a guide for thinking and making decisions: "As I said before, I have studied the physiology of the Tamaran people, so I can see at a glance what neither Karl Al nor you have realized."

Perhaps it was because of the existence of Blackfire that Starfire, the princess of the Tamaran, was so well protected by her father.

As a result, she didn't understand much about anything.

From the first moment he saw Starfire until now, Jor El had been intentionally or unintentionally protecting this Tamaran woman who had a close relationship with Karl El: "Something is happening inside you. A new life belonging to the El family is being conceived, and you haven't realized it yet."

Kojo Al knew that there was no doubt about the reproductive isolation between Kryptonians and Tamarans, and that it would take technological means to overcome it.

But Kal'El isn't a normal Kryptonian, and getting a girl from another race pregnant is one of the simpler things he can do.

Unlike Earthlings or Kryptonians, the Tamaran people have a very long gestation period, and Jor El didn't want any accidents to happen.

"You're welcome to remind me of this."

He looked at Xinghuo, who was still stunned and unable to recover from the series of explosive news, and tossed the somewhat peculiar green light ring back to her: "You can start thinking about what to name the baby with Karl El, but of course, only after everything has settled down smoothly: 'That thing must be calling you right now,'"

Joe Al knew that not everything would go as he planned, but all he had to do was work towards what he wanted.

That result was achieved by going with the flow.

He needs that real hypothesis from the Martian philosophical system, the ultimate explanation of all life—the equation of life—the manifestation of the white light "spirit of existence."

After all, all people and things in the world are like a mirror; where there is a positive, there must be a negative.

Meanwhile, not far away, Tony, who had witnessed the Kryptonians' arrival in New York, was filled with guilt and confusion. He no longer knew what kind of time Joey was trying to buy.

So he fled into Stark Tower, hoping to get some advice from other directions: "Reed?! Are you there?!"

Tony looked down and saw Reed lying unconscious in the laboratory where everyone had just been working together.

And the missing Steel Bones.

"No, no, no, Tony—"

A badly damaged robot, its head crackling with electricity, emerged from a partitioned section of the server room. Its body twisted, its steps faltering, as it slowly made its way toward Tony: "What you need now isn't Reed, what you need—is me!"
