Chapter 618 Logan's Daughters
Chapter 618 Logan's Daughters
Under the influence of alcohol, Logan talked a lot.
He said that Wolverine, who arrived too late, could not suppress his anger and charged at Doom in an attempt to offend God. As a result, he was completely defeated by God and punished. If it weren't for Susan, his abilities might not have been weakened, but he would have died completely that day.
He said he later learned that under Doom's protection, no one died in the arena. It was after the battle that Red Skull and his men killed the already small number of heroes—including his son, of course.
He said that after learning this information, the wolverine who was barely clinging to life was dead, and all that remained in front of Rune was an ordinary man named Logan.
Logan harbors resentment towards Red Skull and the other villains, who killed his son and then hunted him down, causing his wife to die along the way.
Logan harbored resentment towards Black Bolt and White Queen, who had not participated in the battle and had completely abandoned their homeland, allowing those bastards to rule.
But the person he hates most is actually Wolverine.
Rune looked at the old wolf with a complicated expression. This down-on-his-luck guy had a lot on his mind but hadn't said anything yet. Even so, the psychological burden he carried was too heavy, causing his alcoholism to flare up severely, and he spent his days escaping reality.
He didn't even care whether he would die.
"You—you look like you have plenty—you don't lack food. Kill me, and then—hiccup—you could adopt my two daughters?"
"Or—you can just adopt the older one—the older one—" Logan hiccuped, grasping Rune's hand, "The younger one—is mine—is my daughter, and the older one is mine—is my brother's daughter—"
"Your brother?" Rune asked softly, "Which brother?"
Logan's tears welled up again. "Oh—yes, you ask a good question—I don't deserve it—I have no brothers, none. She's the daughter of a great hero, a member of the Avengers—Hawkeye, I beg you—"
Fueled by alcohol, he struggled to his feet and then knelt before Rune with a thud. "I beg you, take her away—don't—don't—"
Snapped!
Logan collapsed to the ground, unable to utter a word. The candies from his pockets were scattered all over the floor. Under the influence of alcohol, he had fallen into a deep sleep.
Rune snapped his fingers, and the other person was lifted up by magic and suspended in mid-air.
Logan definitely needs a good night's sleep.
A low, wooden bungalow is nestled on the edge of the barren, yellow wasteland of central California, surrounded by waist-high foxtail grass and withered thorns.
With.
The paint on its exterior walls had long since peeled away into mottled fragments by the years and sun exposure, revealing the dark brown wooden planks underneath. In many places, they were cracked and warped, with deep grooves etched out by wind and frost.
There were some solar panels on the roof of the house, which barely maintained the power supply inside. There was also a simple shed on the side of the house, with a few crooked wooden pillars barely supporting the tattered canvas. There were some rusty farm tools and punctured oil drums piled up underneath.
The only patch of green outside the house is probably that small vegetable garden with a small plot of land planted with vegetables.
Rune led Logan to the door and knocked. Footsteps immediately came from inside, but the door didn't open right away. He waited for a while, guessing that the person inside was observing him.
Fortunately, Logan was right next to him, so the door opened soon enough.
The girl who opened the door had dark skin, a perfect figure, beautiful long black hair, and many wounds on her body, but this did not diminish her charm; on the contrary, it added a touch of wildness to her.
It's clear that Logan has taken good care of her; although she's a bit thin, her eyes are bright and sparkling.
"Come in!" she invited.
Rune carried Logan, who was still unconscious, into the room. As soon as they stepped inside, the light went out, with only a few rays of sunlight squeezing in through the dusty window cracks, illuminating the dust particles dancing in the air.
After placing Logan on the sofa against the wall, Rune saw the wooden table in the center of the living room. On it were several chipped ceramic bowls and four or five rusty knives. The bowls contained only some black, yellow, and green stuff, all sticky and mushy, which looked disgusting.
"My name is Asri. Are you Dad's friend?" The girl noticed Rune's gaze, instinctively stepped in front of him, and gave an awkward laugh.
Rune shook his head, turned around and helped Logan sit up straight, then sat down next to him. "You can call me Rune. I don't drink, but I should—be considered an old friend of his."
"No wonder he drank so much today." Ashley shook her head. "Over the years, almost every year several people claiming to be old friends of Dad have come to visit, but he's always kicked them out."
The girl looked Rune up and down, her eyes shining. "But you're an exception. At least he's willing to drink with you."
""
"Where's the other girl?" Rune asked, looking around.
The room didn't have much decent furniture. Even the sofa was very old, with cracked leather that revealed the yellowed cotton inside. There were also a few shallow claw marks on the armrest, clearly made by Logan's claws.
The kitchen contained only a dilapidated sink and a makeshift stove. One of the cabinet doors was missing, and inside were several missing plates and bowls, as well as a small bag of flour that was almost empty.
In the shadows of the corner, there was a rusty tin box containing some dried wild vegetables and a few pieces of bread as hard as rocks. Clearly, this was the Logan family's food ration.
"Jard should still be in the bedroom, I'll go call her," Ashley said as she hurried upstairs. "Wait a moment."
Aisley forgot to clean up the disgusting-looking lump of food. Rune picked up the plate, and just by smelling it, he knew it was hard to swallow.
With a snap, Rune snapped his fingers, and the slightly sour food was dumped into the trash can. Then, a large amount of food from modern industrial society appeared out of thin air and was placed on the table.
This Wolverine is indeed disappointing, but for now, at least—at least he can still be saved.
That's right, this Aisley is Hawkeye's daughter, or more precisely, the child of Hawkeye and Spider-Man's youngest daughter. She was born with the blood of both Avengers.
When Judd and Ashley came down from the second-floor bedroom, they saw a table full of delicious food. They both swallowed hard and then looked at Rune.
"Eat up, this is all prepared for you."
After receiving Rune's permission, Judd pursed his lips and whispered a thank you, while Asri boldly hugged Rune, deliberately rubbing her breasts against him, then leaned close to his ear and whispered, "Thank you."
Rune sighed.
Hawkeye is a competent Avenger, but not a competent father or husband. He abandoned Asley when she was very young, and her mother and the robot who acted as her father were killed in the revenge of Red Skull's henchmen.
If it weren't for Logan, Ashley would probably have died in the wilderness long ago. But the lack of early education clearly made her much more realistic. "Please pay attention, I have a—fiancée," Rune warned in a deep voice, but Ashley didn't seem to care.
I don't care.
