Chapter 595 Steve is alive! He can hold on for another whole day!
The ark's outer shell groaned under the weight of the cosmic turbulence, while the Creator's fingertips continued to manipulate instruments, querying everything happening in the outside world and recording it as data.
The Creator, like Mr. Fantastic of the main universe, has sensed the crisis in the multiverse.
But even this dark cult from the main universe didn't know that, unlike Mr. Fantastic of the main universe who was desperately searching for a way to save the situation, the Creator had actually accelerated the process of the disaster.
This cold-blooded Reed destroyed 67 parallel Earths just to test his theories and results.
Just moments before, as the Ultimate Universe was about to collide with the Main Universe, he persuaded Nick Fury of the Ultimate Universe to launch a full-scale attack on Earth in the Main Universe. Meanwhile, Reed himself escaped in a lifeboat built using stolen technology from the Main Universe, taking the opportunity to observe this hard-won experimental data—opportunities for the complete destruction of the multiverse are rare, and the orderly process of destruction is even rarer. The Creator must obtain as much data as possible to understand the mysteries of the universe.
Through the energy shield gleaming with a cold blue light, the Creator witnessed a scene that would drive any god to despair: the center of the ultimate universe had visibly overlapped with the center of the main universe, but a terrible storm erupted at the point of overlap.
A spacetime storm capable of tearing dimensions erupted around Earth. The orange-red energy torrent, like boiling magma, instantly vaporized passing asteroids, and the once-brilliant galaxy clusters in the distance were collapsing at a visible speed.
He had witnessed all of this happening many times and came to the conclusion that the core of most universes is Earth. The destruction of dimensions usually manifests as the collision of Earths, and the degree of merging of two Earths often represents the progress of the destruction of the universe.
"We have about seven minutes left," the Creator said, his hands still moving. "At that time, the spatial coordinates of the two Earths will completely overlap, all matter will disintegrate at the quantum level, but we—"
He turned his head and smiled smugly, "We will eventually be the survivors of the new world."
As the Creator spoke, his gaze swept over the crowd in the Ark Hall, finally settling on the man whose lower back was being held by Proxima Midnight's spear.
He was a man who looked like he could collapse at any moment. His clothes were covered with charred holes, and his exposed skin was as dry and withered as old tree bark. His cheeks were sunken, and there were dark circles around his eyes. Only his eyes still held a faint glimmer of light.
The Creator frowned. He simply couldn't understand why Thanos, a madman who took pleasure in destroying planets and killing creatures to please death, would waste his energy on a dying person at this moment.
Thanos, however, didn't care about this self-proclaimed wise but actually insane fool. Although the two cooperated to some extent, this Titan looked down on the creator.
This Reed completely abandoned the gentleness, compassion, and sense of responsibility inherent in humanity. In his eyes, life was worthless, friends and family were merely pawns and tools, and the vast starry sky was just raw material waiting for him to reshape. He wanted to reshape reality and create a world in which he was the supreme ruler.
If that were all, Thanos would be happy to join him at the pinnacle of the multiverse and fight a great battle. If he lost, the Mad Titan would be able to meet Death, while if he won, he would be able to offer up at least half of the souls of the multiverse to Death.
But how did the Creator do it?
In the name of reshaping a more perfect world, they wantonly steal advanced technology and power resources. Even the ship beneath their feet was created by the creator who stole the technology of the main universe.
He admired Steve, a brave mortal, more than Steve.
Ignoring the Creator, Thanos half-squatted in front of the man, deliberately lowering his massive body and gently placing his right hand on the man's shoulder, the movement carrying an eerie gentleness.
"Steve, I know you're tired," Thanos's voice was deep and magnetic, "but your universe has been completely reduced to ashes. Those you once protected, your comrades, your country—all gone. How long have we been drifting in the universe together?"
Thanos stood up, a hint of disbelief in his eyes. He knew all too well that he was the mastermind behind the heroes of the main universe.
Those so-called heroes were so pathetic when faced with such moral dilemmas that in the end, saving the world had to rely on these villains.
Before them, all the heroes and villains of the universe could only turn into skeletons in their homes, except for Captain America.
Steve coughed dryly, and with difficulty raised his head. The light swept across Thanos's angular face, and then over the Dark Order members standing around him.
Proxima Midnight wore a cold smile, the tip of her spear gleaming with deadly energy; Corvus Glaive sat expressionlessly on the ground, resembling a pale-skinned goblin; Maximus toyed with a sphere that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, a neurotic smile playing on his lips.
But the person Steve knew best was Namor, dressed in black and wielding a trident.
"What are you trying to say?" Steve's voice was hoarse, like sandpaper scraping against the surface; he hadn't had water in a long time. "Convince me to join you? Like these people?"
Steve sneered, a hint of contempt in his eyes.
"Switch allegiance? No, Steve," Thanos chuckled, his laughter carrying an air of absolute confidence. "I'm giving you a chance, a chance to become the ruler of the multiverse!"
He lifted Steve with one hand and pressed his face against the observation window beside him. "Look, these two universes are being destroyed. Whether it's the Avengers or the X-Men, everything you know and everything you don't, will be reduced to nothing in this collision—"
"But this is not the end, but a new beginning—" Thanos said with a smile in a low voice, "and you, Steve Rogers, Captain America, will be one of the architects of this new beginning."
Steve remained silent.
"Use your power, use the method you've hidden, the method that can help us escape this doomed multiverse!" Thanos roared. "We can travel to other multiverses, and I'm even willing to share the rule of those universes with you!"
"You want to be a hero? No problem! I'll carve out a part of the universe just for you, so you can satisfy your hero-cravings!"
But Steve just gave a cold laugh and said no more.
At this moment, the Creator, who had been standing silently to the side, finally couldn't help but speak. He strode over to Thanos, his tone tinged with impatience: "The multiverse is about to reboot, and we may be able to become gods in this new universe, and you actually—are here negotiating with a dying mortal?"
Namor laughed at this moment. "A mortal? Why do you think we brought him here? Do you think Thanos would be so patient with a mortal in the final moments of the multiverse for no reason?"
"Let me be frank, this multiverse that's being destroyed isn't just the only multiverse. Beyond this multiverse lies a vast world, and that's him!"
Namor pointed to his former comrade-in-arms, now a prisoner, and said coldly, "He is the key to our access to other multiverses!"
Realizing something, the Creator immediately transferred the light to Steve. Greed was constantly devouring the heart of this evil man; oh yes, he was no longer content to merely rule the universes he had once observed.
"I can tell you, it's true." Steve chuckled, a slightly neurotic glint in his eyes. If Stark or Banner were standing in his presence, they'd probably be quite startled.
"But I say this only to give you hope—I will absolutely not tell you how to travel to other multiverses."
The hero's voice grew louder and louder: "Because I want you to regret this! I want you to be in hell reflecting on why you didn't seize the opportunity to go to other universes, why you didn't interrogate me to find out all of this—"
"I'm telling you, you'll never get the knowledge to travel to other multiverses!" At this point, Steve suddenly laughed. "Maximus, I know you're manipulating my emotions, trying to get me to reveal the answer, so now—"
Are you satisfied with my answer?
Snapped!
Maximus crushed the ball in his hand, his face darkening.
