Chapter 586 Let's face the Seafood King C'Thun head-on!

"We'll talk about it later." Rune casually shrank the royal scepter in Emperor Veklor's hand and took it with him, then continued forward.

He knew he needed to prepare a powerful and infinitely expandable army; otherwise, he would be unable to directly confront the organizations that controlled the X-Weapon program, the Sentinel program, and other programs that could mass-produce powerful individuals, let alone launch a counterattack.

These insectoid beings certainly deserve consideration.

There are still some insectoids inside the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj, but they are no longer aggressive. All the fighting insectoids have long since perished. Their faith in the Old God has prevented any of the Qiraji from retreating.

From the perspective of loyalty alone, the Qiraji are indeed qualified.

As if sensing Rune's wavering, the Dark Force continued, "Yes, the insectoids regard the Old Gods as their faith and masters, and their loyalty to C'Thun is evident to all, but you and I both know that they can play a greater role in your hands—"

"You just want me to expand your power in the new world." Rune wasn't stupid; he immediately saw through the Dark Force's true intentions.

“I don’t deny that, Rune—” the Dark Force chuckled. “But expansion is the instinct of all Forces. Even if you only bring two Forces into the New World, we will inevitably start a war in the mortal realm. In that case, why not just bring in one?”

Rune smiled as well. "And why do you think I don't want to start a war in the mortal world?"

The Dark Force fell silent, and Rune sneered, "No, war is inevitable! No dimension will survive the iron hooves of the Forsaken—"

"In that case, I will bring you in, and the other five fundamental forces. I will use you to empower mortals, to stir up trouble ahead of time, and to cultivate a powerful and warlike universe."

"I will not be content with merely holding off the Forsaken's offensive; I will launch a counterattack, I will completely eliminate this terrible trouble—"

The dark forces finally responded to Rune, "I thought you were a good person—"

"Although I have indeed been doing good deeds along the way—" Rune walked through the vast temple, his footsteps echoing in the corridors, "I know I am not a good person. Everything I have done is simply because I want to."

"No wonder we hit it off so well—" The Dark Force chuckled in a low voice, "I forgive you, Rune, I forgive you for being the first to seduce the Force of Life behind my back—"

"But focus on the present moment: kill C'Thun, kill that piece of trash who has been corrupting the Heart Chamber for millennia, yet still cannot corrupt the Supreme Star Soul—"

"I will open my heart to you then, and the reward afterward will surely satisfy you, but only if you succeed in killing him. Go, Rune, don't let me down—"

The path to the main hall of the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj, directly facing C'Thun, involves a large loop within the temple. Without anyone stopping him, Rune quickly arrived at a large hall with an impossibly high ceiling, supported by countless massive stone pillars.

In the very center of the hall, a huge black shadow coiled up—it was a giant eyeball. And directly above the eyeball were three bound dragons.

These three dragons are Kerrigan, Aregos, and Mylinsera.

When the War of the Shifting Sands broke out, these three dragons led a portion of the red, green, and blue dragons into Ahn'Qiraj, buying the bronze dragon Anachronos enough time to complete the Scarab Wall.

Afterwards, everyone thought the three dragons were dead, but it was clear that they were still alive, only their auras were weak because they had been imprisoned in the secret chamber by C'Thun and had been continuously absorbing energy for over a thousand years.

Upon meeting, the two sides immediately engaged in combat without much communication—this was a civil war between those favored by the Dark Force, and the law of the jungle is one of the mottos of the Dark Force. C'Thun knew very well that this was an irreconcilable war, otherwise his messengers would not have been so arrogant.

C'Thun roared in fury, and countless thick tentacles lashed out at the rune. At the same time, a thick red beam shot out from its eyeball, distorting space itself in its path.

Rune didn't hesitate. After dodging the beam of light, the dark magic within him suddenly erupted. Blessed by the Force of Life and enhanced by the Transformation spell, Rune's body began to expand rapidly. His bones cracked, and his muscles bulged—

Finally, under C'Thun's gaze, the dark mage grew to be almost as tall as the Old God, his body shimmering with dark red and dark green light, like a shadow titan descended to earth.

C'Thun turned his eyes and released a dark flash once more, but Rune charged towards C'Thun's massive red beam of light, smashing his fists at the oncoming tentacles.

Loud bangs echoed as Rune's fists collided with C'Thun's tentacles. Although the Old God's tentacles were incredibly hard and possessed powerful corrupting abilities, they proved utterly ineffective against Rune's immense strength.

The Dark Flash, a terrifying move powerful enough to instantly kill legendaries and severely injure demigods, had no effect on Rune, as if C'Thun's beam of light was merely a flashlight.

C'Thun then increased its power output, unleashing larger, darker flashes of darkness more frequently, while constantly pulsating green energy lashed out at the mage—

Numerous tentacles appeared, some wrapping around Rune's legs, others confronting him head-on, attempting to slow Rune's advance.

However, none of these worked. Rune only needed one strike to crush the thick tentacles, and neither the black flash, the eye beam attack, nor the mental lash could delay this giant mage who was as big as a titan.

Runes are simply unstoppable!

"Die, C'Thun!" Seeing that the two were not far apart, Rune roared and then leaped up, gathering all his strength in his fists to smash towards C'Thun's huge eyeball.

With a deafening roar, the enormous eyeball was shattered, but this was not the end. The evil and cunning Old God witnessed the death of Y'Shaarj, the strongest among them.

Thus, C'Thun wove a shell around himself in fear, within which the true Thousand-Eyed Demon slumbered. But now, after Rune destroyed this eye-like barrier, he finally awoke.

A giant eyeball emerged from the shell, and below the eyeball extended a gaping maw filled with layers of sharp teeth. Countless tentacles with suckers and spikes spread out from the maw.

"The day I awaken will be the beginning of a new era—" it roared, "Pray to your gods all you want, your prayers will not be answered!"

The boss is starting the second phase.
