Chapter 578 Dark Force: There are Minotaurs here too!?
"No! Life is just a little bitch! You can't—you're my kin!"
However, Rune chuckled as he stroked Goldrinn's fur. "But the Force of Life is also on my side, isn't it?"
In a moment, Rune's senses expanded like a burst dam—not something he detected with his own magic, but some kind of strange perspective.
He saw the mycelial network beneath his feet stretching for miles underground, transmitting information and nutrients between trees; he saw the three-dimensional images obtained by bats using ultrasound in the air, the graceful trajectories of night birds' feathers cutting through the air currents; he saw a pack of wolves hunting in unison in the distance—
The existence of life is far beyond what ordinary people can imagine.
But this is just the beginning.
A warmth surged from his fingertips, spreading rapidly. He felt as if he had experienced a seed breaking and cells dividing. The warmth flowed through his arms, into his chest, and finally gathered at a point on his chest before bursting forth.
Without the aid of transformation magic, Rune could feel his bones reorganizing, his muscles reshaping, and countless tiny changes occurring beneath his skin.
"Release your control over your magic," Goldrinn said, walking up to Rune and looking directly at the powerful mage. "It's truly peculiar that someone of your caliber—even the life force cannot defy your will, forcibly manipulating the magic within your body—it's all so strange."
"Heh," Rune chuckled. This seemingly cold but actually very irritable white wolf was finally willing to speak. "I specially trained my ability to manipulate magic, simply because my adoptive parents were just ordinary people."
He completely relinquished control of his magic, which accelerated the transformation. He lay prone on the ground, his fingers extending into claws, his spine bending and reshaping. But miraculously, his consciousness did not become blurred; instead, it became even clearer.
Finally, after a period of pain, Rune found himself standing on the ground, but in the form of a wolf.
He observed the world through the eyes of a wolf. Although the colors around him were reduced, the universe, composed of movement, heat, and smell, was incredibly rich.
He could see the energy surging within Goldring and smell the alcohol in the air. Oh, it seems the lower-ranking soldiers even had a victory celebration after the war.
They deserve such praise. Despite being far technologically inferior to their enemies, they remained steadfast in their opposition to the Parademons. This is proof of their courage and also of the immense potential of this world—both Azeroth and the class system.
Yes, that's why Rune wanted to bring the six Forces into the DC Universe.
The DC Universe is filled with an absurd number of fundamental forces, such as the seven-color spectrum, the positive and negative life equations, and even the six great realms. But among these forces, which ones are willing to generously share their power with other beings?
Heaven and Hell demand lineage and knowledge; the Seven Colors Spectrum values the extremity of an individual's emotions; and each of the six realms has its own stringent criteria for selecting successors.
Heroes can certainly save ordinary people day after day, year after year, but is this kind of tightrope walking behavior, in which the entire universe will be plunged into an unprecedented crisis if a certain bat monster makes a mistake, really worthy of praise?
Perhaps the right path is to empower ordinary people, to make everyone like a dragon, and to give them the power to defend themselves against external enemies.
But Rune wasn't stupid. It's unimaginable what ordinary people would do if they suddenly gained power, especially since most professionals simply couldn't resist the influence of the source of their power—the six fundamental forces. That makes it even more difficult to predict the future of Earth.
That's right, so Rune wants to use his own world as a testing ground.
Just think about it, Paladin Clark, Warrior Diana, Stealth Batman — that sounds like a really promising project!
"Incredibly powerful, Goldrinn—" A thirst for blood surged within Rune, forcing him to replay in his mind the reasons he had drawn into the six Forces. "But how do I become a werewolf?"
Looking at this guy who wanted to run before he could even walk, Goldrinn said, "It's all in your bones, Rune, but you don't need to use that form at all. Your true form is powerful enough. However, the blessing of the Force of Life is very direct. When you transform back, be prepared."
Upon hearing this, Rune immediately transformed back to his original form.
The blessing of life force made him feel that he had grown much taller, and even possessed a perfectly streamlined physique. However, it wasn't until he used the houses around him as a reference that Rune realized he had grown much taller than just a little.
Judging from the current appearance, Rune is already over 3.5 meters tall.
"Need any help?" Goldrin asked, eager to curry favor with this newly chosen darling of the Force.
Many people might assume that these Wild Gods are only connected to Azeroth, but that's incorrect. In Outland, the orcs in Terokkar Forest once worshipped the Terokkar Wolf Spirits, which is actually related to Goldrinn.
As for Elune, she has followers on multiple planets, and these examples undoubtedly prove one thing—the Wild God is very willing to expand her influence.
Perhaps the power of faith truly makes them stronger, or perhaps it's to facilitate their interference in mortal affairs, to dictate the course of history to their liking, or perhaps it's simply for entertainment.
Some of the Wild Gods left behind their descendants in Azeroth, such as the bear-like creatures left by Ursoc and Ursol, and the mammoths left by Mathos.
"No need," Rune replied with a hint of mischief, then used his shapeshifting technique to return to his original 1.8-meter height.
After re-examining his body, Rune discovered that his strength and physique had significantly improved.
At that moment, the Dark Force could no longer remain passive.
"Alright, alright, I guess if I don't give you a real blessing, you might really leave me—" The Force's tone was somewhat resentful, "Even though we're on the same side, I already know what you're going to do."
"Yes, go, go and kill C'Thun as he awakens. All his power will be yours. This is my blessing upon you, you heartless little devil!"
Rune snorted coldly, trying to calm Goldrinn, who was baring his teeth in pain from sensing the Dark Force, as he replied, "You're the fool. Our universe has many forms of power that are no less powerful than yours. If you bunch of folks dared to mess with yourselves in that world—"
You're probably going to get a really bad beating.
But the Dark Force was no longer responding to him; it seemed Rune's actions had truly hurt this generous Force member. However—
Rune felt helpless. "I was telling the truth!"
