Chapter 577 Is Goldrinn a wolf or a dog?
"Good news, you are safe for now," Rune said, standing before the leader of the Alliance in Azeroth. "I have completely closed the portal—"
Jaina finally breathed a sigh of relief. To this day, she couldn't open one of her eyes, and three parallel scratches ran across the right half of her face, disfiguring the beautiful princess.
From the perspective of someone like Rune, who came later, this scar merely added a touch of heroic charm to her. But for this worldly mage, she was still somewhat concerned about her appearance.
"Thank you for your help," Malfurion said, trying to stand up, but Rune pressed him down from a distance.
This great druid was favored by many wild gods and blessed with the life force, possessing an incredibly high health pool. Even so, he still suffered considerable injuries in this battle.
Thrall's chest was still wrapped in bandages, stained with a large patch of blood. The black iron armor worn by the Warchief had not been able to effectively defend against the attacks of those Parademons.
"Since you've said good news, then surely there must be some bad news as well?" Thrall took a deep breath. The rejuvenation spell personally cast by Malfurion made his wounds and the inside of his chest itchy, so much so that he wanted to both scratch his wounds and cough.
Rune nodded. "The bad news is that the beings you're facing aren't even the vanguard. The leaders of those Parademon armies are just doing a side job, and their purpose is similar to what you did in the previous battle."
"A feint attack?" Tyrande stood up. "Then what is their purpose? Have we been tricked into a diversionary tactic? —"
"I don't know, but they've achieved their goal."
Jaina sighed softly, "Oh my god—"
She had thought she would be facing at least a group of vanguards, right? But it turned out that they were facing just a bunch of thugs who broke the law?
Malfurion frowned, Vol'jin scratched his head repeatedly, but only the simple-minded and outspoken Cairne asked loudly, "You mean, with the combined strength of half the world, plus your help, we only managed to defeat a thief?"
"Actually, the Dark Lord who leads the Parademons is quite powerful. According to him, whoever can defeat him can probably also enter the core of power among the Forsaken." Rune shrugged.
"Didn't you defeat them? We all saw it—" The tauren chieftain shook his head, still muttering to himself, "I mean, you—you're not going to stay here forever to protect us, are you?"
Kane's problem drew everyone's attention to Rune.
They had all witnessed the spectacle Rune had created on the moon. If someone were to tell these leaders that this dark mage was the legendary incarnation of the Titan, it's likely that none of them would have any doubts.
With such an outside helper by their side, they are confident.
There's no way around it, clinging to someone's coattails is just too appealing!
"I really can't." Rune nodded, agreeing with Cairne's statement. The Tauren chieftain immediately sighed, and at that moment Malfurion finally stood up.
He coughed twice, then said, "That's enough. This monk helped us once, and we should repay his kindness instead of trying to bind him to us."
The archdruid's gaze was resolute. He surveyed everyone present and continued in a low voice, "Azeroth is our home, and it should be protected by us! Isn't that the very meaning of the Alliance of Azeroth?"
"Well said!" Thrall's fighting spirit was immediately ignited. "Although I am not a native of Azeroth—"
At this point, the warrior looked at Jaina apologetically, but the princess nodded at him, encouraging him to continue.
She saw Thrall's efforts for Azeroth and his pursuit of peace, and as long as Thrall remained Warchief, she firmly believed that there would be no major conflict between the Horde and the Alliance.
Encouraged by the victims, Thrall continued, "But I am still willing to do my part for Azeroth, for this beautiful planet. Long live the Alliance of Azeroth!"
The other leaders were also moved by this, and they shouted together, "Long live the Alliance of Azeroth!" and "We will surround Azeroth to the death!" leaving Rune, who wanted to say something, unable to get a word in edgewise.
But it's alright, there are plenty of people—or creatures—who want to talk to Rune.
A wolf emerged from the void. Its body was enormous, far exceeding the size of the conference room, but after a few steps, it became only waist-high to Rune.
Malfurion, who was deeply blessed by the god of the wilderness, snapped out of his frenzy and immediately knelt down when he saw the wolf, but he was destined not to be able to do so today.
The power from the wolf god lifted the great druid's body once more; he had come here to discuss important matters with Rune.
This wolf is none other than Goldrinn, the ancient wolf god of Azeroth. Few can command this being, and even Elune cannot make him mistake her.
It is said that Elune, the moon goddess, was disappointed by Goldrinn's insistence on his savage nature. She believed that it was Goldrinn's unwillingness to tame his inner savagery and bloodlust that dimmed his noble spirit.
When the moon is full, Elune's light illuminates the darkness, as if her eyes are judging him from above.
Goldling, however, was enraged by her conviction and became even more bloodthirsty and tenacious.
The druids who followed Goldrinn were known as the Wolf Pack Druids. Their wolf pack form, like Goldrinn's, was full of rage and often went out of control.
In an attempt to control his wildness in wolf form, Larel Flamefang chose to combine Goldrinn's teeth with Elune's staff to create the Moon Scythe. However, things didn't go as planned, as Goldrinn's power rejected the Moon Goddess.
The god of the wilderness also took his anger out on the druids.
He cursed the wolf druids, turning them into savage werewolves. However, this was both a curse and a blessing; the werewolves' power played a crucial role in the fight against the satyrs.
However, since the werewolves could not distinguish between friend and foe, the other druids ultimately had no choice but to banish them to the Emerald Dream, where they would slumber forever beneath the sacred tree of Daranil.
From this perspective, perhaps the legend is not wrong; the wolf god Goldrinn and Furious's control over Elune may indeed have some contradictions.
The power that allowed Goldrin to personally step out of the Emerald Dream—
Rune gently stroked Goldrinn's fur. "The Force of Life sensed it, didn't it? It knows what I'm going to do, it knows my grand vision—"

"Indeed, how can simply occupying one world possibly gather the power to resist that terrifying force beyond the stars?"
