Chapter 567 The Puppet's Powerful Combat Capabilities
Nazgrare did want to fight alongside Thrall, but ultimately, Thrall was his leader, making a lowly office worker face a dozen bosses at once—
Have you never been a corporate slave? The pressure must be immense, my friend.
So the powerful orc warrior gritted his teeth and had Rune replace those dozen or so Thralls with Black Wolves.
The orcs' totem is the wolf, and they also have a band of wolf riders. Despite their apparent strength advantage over humans, in Draenor, creatures like ogres and Gronn possess far greater physical prowess than orcs, forcing the orcs to unite in order to contend with the other creatures of Draenor.
Wolves share similar habits with beastmen, making them highly sought after. Over time, they have evolved beyond mere objects of worship into everyday transportation and war partners.
Nazgrel wears a wolf head mask on his head. It was once his friend, but the dire wolf died in a battle, and Nazgrel used the fur from its head as a mask in memory of it.
However, Rune's actions also revealed his intentions to everyone present. He wanted to use these summoned creatures to make up for the lack of manpower; he wanted this small team of about a hundred people to face the otherworldly creatures that had defeated the entire Alliance, the Horde, and the Night Elves.
"These things—" Kane examined the wolves closely, looking at them for a long time but finding no flaws. The fur, eyes, and fangs were all lifelike. "Are they really wolves?"
"Of course, the appearance and personality of these creatures are essentially determined by the subconscious of all beings in Azeroth. In other words, whatever kind of creature a wolf is in your mind, that's what these things will look like."
Rune gave a brief explanation of some of the principles behind this transmutation.
Many wizarding spells involve human or even biological consciousness, because when using spells like Transfiguration or Restoration Charms, wizards cannot fully remember the state of a particular creature or object at a particular time.
Therefore, these spells mobilize a kind of general consciousness, which, together with the wizard's own consciousness, gives a detailed picture of the state of a certain creature or object at a certain time, and then shapes or repairs it according to that state.
Similarly, if a spell becomes widely known, its power will increase, but correspondingly, the spell's execution process and the precision required for the spell will also be very high.
Many wizards are completely unaware of the underlying principles; they simply follow the instructions in the book. However, Rune has studied the mysteries in depth.
"How capable is he in combat?"
Rune then adopted an inviting stance: "Why not try it yourself? After all, you'll be fighting alongside these creatures soon, so getting to know them will benefit both of us."
Kane immediately confronted one of the wolves, carefully moving away from the Parademons' detection range. The wolf that was being targeted also left the main group under Rune's instructions.
This was essentially an arms sale, and everyone present, including the three green dragons, turned their curious gazes to Kane and the wolf.
Rune released the wolf's restraints, and it instantly transformed into a black afterimage, rushing straight at Kane.
This speed was simply beyond reason. Nazgrell, who had been crouching, immediately stood up straight, looking at the wolf in astonishment.
But Cairne was a seasoned warrior, a legendary fighter who had faced both the centaur Khan and the Burning Legion lords head-on. The tauren chieftain almost instinctively slammed the totem pole into the ground in front of him.
Boom!
The shockwave erupted in a ring in an instant, the ground undulated violently like water, and soil and rocks flew everywhere. The terror of the war trampling caused by the totem pole was so terrifying, and this astonishing deterrent power fully demonstrated Kane's strength.
The black wolf was hit head-on by the shockwave and flying sand and gravel in its charging path. Its body was noticeably sluggish in mid-air for a moment, and it had to dig its four paws deep into the ground to stabilize itself upon landing.
However, it quickly recovered from its stumble and began circling Kane at high speed a few yards away.
It is looking for a weakness.
Kane, however, did not follow the wolf in circles. Instead, he gripped the totem pole with both hands, closed half his eyes, and carefully sensed the tremors of the earth.
Soon, he moved, and with his thick totem pole, he unleashed a simple, unadorned sweep towards the open space at a 45-degree angle to his left rear!
A whooshing sound filled the air; the ability to wield this massive totem pole with ease—such terrifying power would terrify any enemy.
However, the performance of the runic creations left everyone speechless.
Bang!
Kane's attack did not miss; the black wolf's true form happened to appear there. However, it quickly adjusted its body, precisely slapping the side of the totem pole with its front paws, using the momentum to perform a backflip, and then landing lightly.
It was a perfect technique for deflecting force, which even surprised Rune himself. He had only added some martial arts techniques from the Assassin's Guild when he was instilling the puppet's will.
In their first encounter, Kane had a high opinion of this magical creature; it was agile, strong, and a formidable opponent.
It should be noted that even with the use of force-dissipating techniques, his war stomp and attacks are beyond the tolerance of ordinary people; even the demon guards would have their heads smashed by his blows.
Kane then stopped attacking and allowed the black wolf to pounce on him and tear at him. His thick fur was bitten through almost instantly, and blood even began to seep out.
Kane was now completely satisfied; even their attacks were incredibly powerful. He couldn't wait to see the Parademons huddle in disarray when facing these magical creations.
Thinking of this, Kane immediately stretched out his hand, gesturing as if to pause, completely halting this round of probing.
"How is it?" Rune asked.
The Tauren chieftain grinned, “As a tool, it is excellent. It has no fear, no hesitation, is extremely aggressive, and also has its own skills and wisdom—oh, tell me, you are not controlling this wolf, are you?”
'
"I only gave it the order to attack you; it was all its own improvisation," Rune replied.
"I'd like to ask, how many of these beings can each of us receive help from?"
Rune laughed and patted the ground. A large number of black wolves emerged from the earth. They were in packs, robust, and their eyes gleamed green. But when others saw the pack of wolves, they only felt joy.
"How many?" Rune shouted. "I'm asking you, is a hundred enough?"
