Chapter 291 Star-Lord: Are all Earth's local heroes this unreasonable?

The Kree were quickly outpaced by Rocket Raccoon. Despite their numerical advantage, Star-Lord's ship was no ordinary vessel. Strictly speaking, it was a combination of the self-awareness of a certain star and the ship itself, as well as Star-Lord's capable assistant and lover. It could change its appearance at will. Coupled with Rocket Raccoon's superb piloting skills, a mere four large cruisers were not enough to capture the Guardians of the Galaxy.

However, the ship was somewhat awkward because of Thor's arrival. Thor's sister Angela was also on board, but the relationship between the two was a bit strange.

The queen of the tenth realm, Heaven, rebelled and killed Odin's newborn daughter. However, the girl was only in a state of suspended animation and was eventually revived and raised by an angel, who named her Angela. Odin was also furious about his daughter's death, so he removed the tenth realm from the World Tree and sealed it away.

Relying on her inherited physique from Odin, Angela easily became the strongest woman in Heaven and was known as the strongest wingless angel. However, Thor later saw through the Eye of the Observer that he had an older sister, so he stormed into the Tenth Realm, only to be beaten up by his sister and imprisoned.

After capturing Thor, the Tenth Realm also intended to launch a counterattack on Asgard, but it was defeated by Loki's scheme. If Odin hadn't finally recognized Angela as his daughter, the Tenth Realm's fate would probably not have been good.

But Angela was unwilling to return to her true home, Asgard, and the angels could not tolerate her as the daughter of their enemy. Therefore, she had no choice but to fly into space, where she encountered the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Therefore, the relationship between Angela and Thor is quite strange. Thor has always tried to get along with his sister, but Angela is full of resentment towards Asgard and Odin, which makes her attitude towards Thor extremely complicated.

After Thor revealed his true intentions, Star-Lord and the others voted and ultimately decided to help Thor.

Although the Guardians of the Galaxy are a very diverse group, including wanted criminals, assassins, and experimental subjects, and are therefore seen by many as outlaws, they are not heroes in the traditional sense. Drax always likes to solve everything with his muscles. Thor, hammer in hand, cautiously disembarked from the spaceship. As the most resilient god on the entire ship, he had to lead the charge, with Nova close behind.

Any being that can be associated with the Celestials is no ordinary being. Thor has seen parasites that have become extremely powerful by consuming the bodies of Celestials members, and he has also seen the Kree Empire people try to "mine" the bodies of gods, only to be turned to ashes by the energy that erupted from them.

After ensuring safety, Thor gestured to the others, indicating that it was relatively safe for them.

As they entered, they saw a human—he was clearly a young man, his face still showing signs of immaturity, yet his charm was undeniable.

"Hello." He turned to Thor and the members behind him, showing no surprise whatsoever: "Thor, and the Guardians of the Galaxy."

"Rune!?" Thor asked in surprise upon seeing the young man, "What are you doing here? Are you the culprit who destroyed the multiverse?"

Rune shook his head: "No, the purpose of my coming here is simply to put an old man's mind at ease. He told me that his unfilial son had run away from home and begged me to help him bring his son back—"

"Oh, that old man sounds so pitiful," Rocket Raccoon said with a smile, glancing at Thor. Although he didn't recognize the man named Rune, he understood the hint.

Star-Lord, unusually, spoke up for Thor: "Well, Thor is only trying to find out the truth behind this multiverse catastrophe. Odin isn't just a pitiful old man, is he?"

Rune ignored everyone else, staring directly at Thor: "Your father's request is to ensure your safety. It's a very troublesome request, but I happen to be able to do it temporarily. Thor, are you coming with me, or will you come with me after we fight?"

"Hey, that's completely unreasonable!" Star-Lord shouted. "I'm still here, and you're trying to poach my guys right in front of me? That's a bit too underhanded, isn't it? Are all local gangs on Earth this unreasonable?"

Star-Lord wanted to approach Rune and reason with this "unreasonable" fellow traveler, but Thor stopped him. He looked at Thor in confusion, only to see Thor's solemn expression.

"This guy is an extremely powerful sorcerer, capable of controlling a quarter of the Earth in battle." Upon hearing this, Star-Lord's eyes widened, and he quickly took a few steps back. Nova and Angela took the initiative to stand next to Thor, watching him warily.

Cosmo also used his telepathic abilities to send a signal to everyone else: "The other side also possesses powerful telepathic abilities. If a fight breaks out, I'm afraid I won't be able to control him in a short time." Rocket Raccoon climbed onto Groot and pulled out a huge weapon, shouting, "Although I don't like this hammer guy, I like you even more! No one can take anyone away from the Guardians of the Galaxy!"

"That's right!" Star-Lord peeked out from behind Thor's towering figure, said timidly, and then quickly scurried back inside.

Drax the Destroyer merely drew his twin swords, assuming a fighting stance, while Gamora and Mantis watched Rune warily.

"Thor, come back with me," Rune said softly. "The mastermind behind this disaster is someone you can't afford to offend. The destruction of the multiverse is imminent. Only by coming back with me can you have a chance to survive."

Then Rune looked at the Guardians of the Galaxy members: "You too, stop investigating."
