"suicide?"

"Wardfa?"

"She's covered in blood, quickly help her clean up."

When the girl with blood on her hands entered the building, panic was written on the faces of every student, and the building was filled with sounds of fear and gasps.

"What happened?"

Encountering such a case the day before the festival officially began, Lucius slipped out of the crowd and arrived at the main entrance of the hall.

There, a student holding a dagger lay on his back on the ground, his neck a bloody mess, his chest no longer rising and falling.

"He suddenly grabbed a fruit knife, rushed out of the auditorium, and slit his own throat in front of all the students... We don't even know why he did it..."

The girl, her hands covered in blood, covered her face and wept. She had tried to help her friend stop the bleeding, but found that everything she did was in vain.

"Has he done anything unusual before?"

Looking at the standard Black Dove Society bronze badge on the deceased's chest, Lucius turned to look at the other Black Dove Society members in the hall.

At the moment when their fellow club member committed suicide, the students in the same club had different expressions, and for a moment no one dared to look Lucius in the eye.

"No... He was perfectly normal all day, but after having a few drinks at the party, he suddenly stopped talking."

The deceased's female companion responded, trembling. According to her, the deceased's behavior was normal until his suicide, and there seemed to be no reason for it.

While waiting for the police to arrive, Lucius stood beside the body, carefully observing the deceased's condition.

Apart from the scarlet color of the wound, there were no abnormalities on the deceased's body, nor was there any interference from hallucinogenic drugs or toxins.

Lydia, pale-faced, had lost the cheerfulness and enthusiasm she had shown when she held the microphone. She slowly walked to Lucius's side and whispered:

"I think...it's probably because of too much pressure. The Black Dove Society does have internal vetting and screening processes. Aren't many people with depression like that? They seem perfectly normal most of the time, but then suddenly one day they just disappear without a trace..."

Have any members of the Black Dove Society experienced similar situations before?

Nothing unusual was found on the body. Lucius took off his gloves and stared at the Gotham University newspaper editor.

Barbara explicitly refused to join the Black Dove Society, and this was probably one of the reasons.

The Black Pigeon Society "always" and "occasionally" exhibits some discordant and abnormal situations.

"There are...a few cases of students dropping out, but none of them happened in public..."

Lydia's face was filled with visible panic, and her emotions made Lucius silently look at the other members of the Black Dove Society.

If this editor wanted to conceal the secrets related to the Black Dove Society, why would she let Barbara invite her here?

Is this current demeanor merely a facade and a means of self-preservation?

......

"Pamela?"

The greeting that rang in her ears made the girl in the crowd tremble.

The familiar voice calmed her panic, and facing the female classmate she had never seen before, Pamela lowered her voice and asked, "Professor Wood?"

"It's me... Raven, not Professor Wood. What do you want?"

"Do you know anything about the Black Dove Society, Raven?"

Looking at the police in the center of the crowd, Pamela hoped to offer Lucius some help in her own way.

Miss Raven, who is skilled at shapeshifting, should be able to travel to all sorts of places at Gotham University, and she certainly knows more information than Barbara.

"The Black Dove Society? Why are you asking about that?"

During this time, Mystique was going through various files and documents at Gotham University, hoping to find some outstanding mutants, but she came up empty-handed.

Although no mutants were found, Raven did come into contact with many of the darker aspects of the university.

"The Black Pigeon Society is an evil organization that has various dealings with gangs and has some religious overtones. Many professors and even high-ranking members of the college have members among them... I suggest you don't try to find out about them casually."

"Gang?"

Pamela was surprised to learn that the organization had such a background, and immediately became worried about Lucius's safety.

"That's right, just from the projects I found, there are 'Nemesis' and 'Monster Resurrection'..."

Raven's tone was full of disdain when he talked about these impressive project codes.

Each one sounded more interesting than the last, but Raven couldn't get more detailed information in a short time, otherwise she would have been really curious about what these experimental projects were researching.

"Pamela? Phew, you're here."

With police lights flashing, the situation was under control. Lucius jogged to his partner's side and said with a hint of worry, "Don't wander around Gotham University. It's dangerous here."

Ha, dangerous.

Rolling his eyes, Raven didn't think there was anything in the university that could threaten Pamela's safety.

Having witnessed firsthand how this woman controlled the plants to grow wildly, Mystique, as a mutant, understood better than anyone what abilities Pamela now possessed.

Even the most advanced mutants couldn't easily defeat Pamela now, so those pretentious guys at Gotham University are even less of a threat.

If this woman is willing, there are probably few in all of Gotham who can harm her...

Silently taking a step back and returning to the crowd of students, Raven rolled his eyes at the careless police officer, sighing that youthful exuberance could indeed be blinding.

Where is that terrifying intuition he had when facing himself? How come it's completely gone now?

"Okay, I understand... How's the situation now?"

Pamela took two steps forward to stand in front of Lucius, creating some distance between herself and Raven. She then grasped the officer's hand, successfully drawing his attention.

"Police have secured the scene, and Gotham University has put pressure on us to keep quiet until the incident is fully investigated... The celebration will proceed as planned."

The only feeling Lucius got from Gotham University's handling of the situation was 'indifference'.

The Black Dove Society, supposedly an elite club, has seen a member commit suicide, yet the school has made no statement and instead seems to be trying to downplay the incident.

Won't such behavior cause dissatisfaction and backlash from other members of the Black Dove Society?

Or perhaps... this was all the result of discussions between the Black Dove Society and the school administration...?

"I have a feeling that this incident is not so simple. Even if the student really committed suicide, it shouldn't be dealt with so hastily."

"Alright...we came to school to relax, right? Now that the case has been taken over by other police officers, let's not even think about it."

Holding Lucius's hand, Pamela was unwilling for him to delve deeper into Gotham University's investigation.

The more Pamela cared about this person, the more worried she became that he might get hurt in some dangerous case...

"Can you spend more time with me tonight?"

With a slightly flushed face and a hidden agenda, Pamela took the initiative to put her arm around her lover's waist.

She has already prepared the pills to suppress the toxins; everything just needs to proceed according to plan...

Now, the goal is to get both of them emotionally engaged.

The girl, head tilted back, gazed at Lucius with tender affection, formally inviting him on a date.

"How about we go get a drink?"
