American comic book police officer survival manual

Chapter 13 almost caused him to lose face.

Wearing glasses, Clark was incredibly meticulous when working. He held a microphone in one hand and a transcript in the other, speaking solemnly to the two police officers.

"How long will it take the Gotham Police Department to solve this case? We've seen many victims of this gas attack in the hospital. Will Gotham provide compensation and humanitarian aid to those involved?"

Perhaps because he had seen too many victims of the incidents in the hospital, Mr. Superman's words after finally meeting the Gotham police were somewhat emotional.

"Clark..."

Noticing that her colleague was in a bad mood, the beautiful female colleague with black hair couldn't help but tug at his sleeve.

"Louise, don't worry about me..."

Having witnessed firsthand what the Gotham police department was like, Clark, who had always lived in a big city, found Gotham's way of operating completely unacceptable.

When they went to the Gotham City Police Department on behalf of the Daily Planet, hoping to get firsthand information about the gas attack, they were turned away.

Such a serious attack should have been addressed with an official press conference in any city, where relevant information would be released to the public and an explanation given.

But what Clark encountered at the Gotham Police Department was a large number of confused officers who knew nothing about the specific details of the incident and were even more bewildered than the reporters who came to cover the story!

As for the police chief, who was supposed to make the same arrangements within the police station, he has disappeared without a trace, and we can't even find him!

This wasn't the first time Clark had come to know the dark side of Gotham... As a citizen of Metropolis, he had heard all sorts of "legendary stories" about Gotham since he was a child.

A dark city where even renowned philanthropists and entrepreneurs can be silently murdered in an alleyway... a place that any honest person would avoid.

Today is Clark's first day in Gotham, but based solely on his initial impressions from the police department, it's difficult for the justice-minded Clark to develop a favorable impression of the city...

"I'm sorry, but I cannot disclose many details of the incident."

Seemingly accustomed to dealing with these reporters asking all sorts of questions, Brock's expression remained completely unchanged despite the offensive remarks.

The middle-aged man, who looked more like a rogue than a policeman, kept a straight face and maintained an expression of "I have nothing to say."

"Sir...please tell us something."

Having realized that Brock was a tough nut to crack, Louise naturally turned her hopeful gaze to Lucius.

"All I can say is... the police will do everything in their power... to maintain order in Gotham and ensure the safety of its residents..."

Busy making up platitudes to appease the reporters, Lucius didn't see that in the hospital corridor, a man in a hospital gown was greedily eyeing Louise's handbag.

Those special designs from the metropolis are quite expensive.

Realizing the danger, Clark turned his head, only to find that the patient had already taken a dark-colored pistol out of his pocket!

"Don't move! Give me your wallets!"

In front of the two police officers, the criminal brazenly brandished his gun, pointing it at the most vulnerable woman among the four. "If you make any trouble, I can't guarantee that woman's safety."

The criminals, on high alert, placed all their vigilance on the two police officers and dared not let their guard down for a moment.

"Calm down, don't shoot."

Being threatened with a gun by such a guy in public caused Clark's expression to change slightly.

Is this Gotham? Is this how it welcomes outsiders?

With a very interesting expression, Lucius looked at the robber and said in a strange tone:

"You're really... bold."

The first time I witnessed a robbery in Gotham, it happened in this way...

Looking at Clark, who had a displeased expression, Lucius couldn't help but feel a little admiration for the young man holding the gun.

Threatening Superman's lover in front of him is like swimming on your back in a cesspool—you're about to get yourself into trouble.

"Hey, you two, don't move! You slut, give me that bag right now!"

All attention was focused on the two policemen. The tense robber's hand holding the gun trembled slightly, as if he might fire a bullet at any moment.

Before everyone's eyes, Clark, who did not want to use his abilities, looked gloomy and was at a loss for what to do with his opponent.

Startled by this sudden turn of events, Louise instinctively threw her handbag away, powerless to resist the gun.

Overjoyed with the goods in hand, the robbers peeked through the window, then turned and ran!

"Sometimes I really don't understand how these robbers' brains are structured..."

Reaching the window, Lucius watched as the robber, having snatched the bag, ran madly down the road on his own two legs. He silently drew his pistol and aimed it at the fleeing robber.

This guy is so stupid, he probably isn't a member of any gang.

"Hey!"

Seeing his colleague about to open fire in public, Brock's expression changed drastically, but before he could stop him, Glock had already spat out flames.

"ah!!"

With a scream, the robber, whose calf was grazed by a bullet, staggered and fell to the ground, gritting his teeth.

"Fuck! You son of..."

As the enraged robber scrambled to his feet and raised his gun, he heard another sharp whistling sound as it cut through the air.

"Click..."

The gun was hit, and the deadly weapon flew out of his hand in an instant, leaving the man lying on the ground, howling in pain, completely incapacitated.

"I'm sorry to have worried you both... Gotham has a lot of mentally ill people, and they might do all sorts of crazy things."

After putting away his pistol and apologizing to Clark and Louise, Lucius took out handcuffs and successfully arrested the robber who was lying on the ground cursing, then put him in the police car.

"My goodness... your marksmanship is amazing! Have you had any special training?"

Ms. Louise, still somewhat frightened, took the bag from Lucius's hand after jogging over and asked with great surprise.

Seeing Lucius firing off accusations again just to show off in front of women, Brock, already furious, retorted sharply, "Of course! You want specific information, right? This guy handled the gas attack in Gotham all by himself. Ask him anything you want."

"Hey? Why are you angry?"

Not understanding his colleague's inexplicable temper, Lucius didn't think he had done anything wrong.

Just kidding, by firing in public, he had already done that robber a huge favor.

If Lucius, as a police officer, hadn't handled this matter, he couldn't even imagine how Superman would have beaten that guy up.

If their inaction as police officers leads to a major news story in Gotham: "Gotham Police Department fails in its protection efforts, needing Superman from next door to assist in apprehending the robbers," such a stain will likely erase any hope of promotion or a raise for him in the future.

Even if Commissioner Gordon finds out about this later, he'll probably spit on him a couple of times, disgusted that Lucius has made the Gotham Police Department lose face.

After all, one minute they're saying they'll protect the safety of citizens in front of the microphone, and the next minute a robbery happens and they ignore it... If this kind of situation makes the news, it'll be a huge joke.

"Yes, yes, you did a great job, hero. Now it's your turn to deal with this beautiful reporter. I'll take the criminal back to the police station first."

Speechless at the impulsive behavior of the young man, Brock got into the police car, stepped on the gas without thinking, and sped away with the criminal.

Oh? The light bulb left by itself? That's a good thing.

No longer having to play a role he loathed, Lucius grinned, feeling both surprised and quite satisfied with Block's departure.

But when the young man who had saved the Gotham police's reputation turned around, he saw two lovely ladies whispering excitedly to each other.

"What? You're saying that when the poison gas leaked, Mr. Lucius single-handedly took care of all the gangsters present?"

Miss Louise, holding a reporter's notebook, plays the role of a listener, constantly using exaggerated responses to coax a female college student into revealing information about the gas attack.

"Yes! I swear to God!"

Pamela, her face flushed with excitement, had no sense of secrecy. As soon as she stepped out of the ward, she told Louise, who was full of curiosity, everything she had learned.

As for Clark, he did not participate in the interview, but looked at Lucius with a strange gaze, as if he had come to know the policeman in a new light.

Just now, wasn't his action of firing the gun a little too... decisive and clean?

With a touch of curiosity, Clark took the initiative to ask:

"Your shooting skills seem exceptionally high? Have you received professional training?"

"...ha?"
