Chapter 794 The New Secret Passage Inside the House, Where Every Request Is Granted
Like Siron, Professor McGonagall was also amazed by their good fortune after hearing their descriptions.
But she didn't have any good ideas about Nagini, the Horcrux. After giving Harry a few pointers, she had Cyril lead them away.
By the time they emerged from the Transfiguration office, the sun had already risen. Sunlight streamed in, illuminating the entire castle.
The once quiet corridor gradually became filled with indistinct voices.
"It's almost breakfast time, we'd better hurry," Hermione said.
The group quickened their pace and finally returned to the Room of Requirement on the eighth floor before the first Gryffindor left.
"All I want to do right now is get a good night's sleep, preferably all day long!" Ron rubbed his eyes, his voice filled with undisguised exhaustion.
"Of course, no problem. It's safe here right now, you can sleep as long as you want."
Siren was the last to enter, and only turned around after making sure the door was closed. "You can choose a bed, or if you feel strange, you can have your own room like Hermione—it's very simple, just think of it that way."
"It's okay, it's fine as it is," Ron said.
Having his own room was nice, but he was more interested in what it would feel like to sleep in such a luxurious room—it was like sleeping in the main hall of the Ministry of Magic.
Feeling this novel sensation, Ron quickly fell asleep.
Hermione had originally intended to return to her room, but after noticing Harry talking to Siron, she stopped and walked over.
"What are you planning to do next?" Harry asked, propping his head up by the fountain.
Although he wanted to get a good night's sleep like Ron, the intermittent pain in his forehead kept him awake.
He couldn't explain what was wrong, so he decided to chat with Xilun to try and distract himself.
"The most important thing is definitely finding the Death Eaters around Hogwarts," Siron said. "Then Professor McGonagall will contact the Order of the Phoenix and find a way to get rid of these troubles."
"So, did they find it—did they find it?" Harry asked.
"not yet."
"Is there anything we can do to help?" Hermione asked as she walked over.
"There is indeed something," Xiren clapped his hands. "And coincidentally, you all have a wealth of experience in this area."
"What is it?"
"Rebuild SDA," Celen said.
"To fight against Carlo and Snape?" Hermione asked.
"To be precise, it's to gather together students who are unwilling to submit to the Death Eaters," Siron said, explaining the current plight of the Hogwarts students.
The students today can be roughly divided into three categories. The majority of the students, led by Slytherins, are close to the Death Eaters. They are granted special powers and give orders all over the school, living in perfect harmony.
Then there's the Rebellion, made up of most of the Gryffindors. They despise the Death Eaters, so they're constantly targeted by Carol and the Slytherins, and getting injured is commonplace for them.
Finally, there are the neutral Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. They don't support the Death Eaters, but they don't actively rebel either. With the troublemakers from Gryffindor holding them back, it's basically the same as when they were in school before.
Siren also mentioned Neville—who has almost become another Harry, openly opposing Carol and mocking the Death Eaters during Defense Against the Dark Arts class. Carol was so enraged that she immediately put Neville in solitary confinement, preparing to make him try the Cruciatus Curse that his parents had experienced.
This decision can only be described as vicious.
Siren clearly remembered Neville's pale face and clenched fists when Carol mentioned Frank and Alice.
She deliberately wanted to reopen Neville's wounds, a pain more devastating to a person's will than the Cruciatus Curse.
But Neville held firm and showed no fear in front of Carlo.
Harry and Hermione were stunned. Could Neville really do something like mocking a Death Eater in front of Carol during class?
"This is truly—truly—"
"Familiar, isn't it?" Siren chuckled, glancing instinctively at Harry, after all, he had done something similar before—criticizing the Ministry of Magic in front of Umbridge.
"We have to help him!" Hermione frowned. "Carol's punishment will definitely be much worse than Umbridge's; she really will use the Cruciatus Curse on Neville!"
"Don't worry, it's all over now." Siren waved his hand. "Carlo has been a bit forgetful lately. He forgot about putting Neville in solitary confinement not long after leaving the classroom."
The Room of Requirement seemed to have been paused. A few seconds later, Harry, enduring the burning pain from his scars, looked up and stared at Siron in disbelief.
"I know it's hard for you to believe, but it's true. Carol's memory is really bad," Siren said calmly. "I think it might be related to her experience in Azkaban. You know, it's hard to stay normal after being in a place like that for a long time."
Harry still felt something was off; he had never heard of Dementors making wizards forgetful.
But the sudden, sharp pain in his forehead made it impossible for him to think, and even the House of Requirement appeared in his mind's eye.
In a daze, he felt a giant snake coiled around his shoulder, and the dark earth rushed past beneath him.
"He's flying again, with his Horcrux Nagini," Harry whispered to Sheryl and Hermione. "I don't know if he's coming here, but we'd better be prepared."
"I don't think so." Celen frowned slightly. "If he wanted to come to Hogwarts, he should have told Carlo beforehand, but as far as I know, Carlo hasn't received any news at all."
At this moment, Xilun paused, suddenly stopping, as if he had seen something astonishing.
"What's wrong?" Hermione noticed this and quickly asked, "Do you also think that the Mystic is coming here to find us?"
"No, it's that—" Xiren stretched out her hand and pointed to a corner opposite, "Was there a cabinet there when we went out just now?"
Harry and Hermione both looked in the direction Siron was pointing.
There was a small cabinet in the corner at some point, which looked a bit like a kitchen cupboard.
The two looked at each other, and after a moment, shook their heads at the same time.
"Probably not."
"I didn't pay much attention."
Clearly, they had been there too short a time and hadn't noticed any changes in their surroundings.
"Silen, is that cabinet strange?"
"That's strange," Siren said. "I'm sure there was nothing there before today."
He walked over and opened the cabinet from a distance with his wand.
"Oh!" Hermione exclaimed instinctively from behind.
Because a passage appeared inside, similar to the portrait of Ariana, which also had a very steep staircase.
